Catastrophe Containment Facility -
Chapter 452 - 450: The 2nd Game
Chapter 452: Chapter 450: The 2nd Game
Upon seeing Wu Wang, Wen Wen’s eyes immediately lit up. Thinking of the good stuff in Wu Wang’s possession, he felt a burning desire in his heart, convinced that the Fishmen, being tied up in the city center, would likely be unable to come.
After swallowing his saliva, Wen Wen immediately began concocting a wicked plan.
Other Rangers were hurrying to this location. The minor monsters here would soon be wiped out, but there was one person Wen Wen didn’t want arriving just yet.
So, Wen Wen secretly sent Chu Wei a message: "Don’t show up near the parking lot just yet. I’ll give you the signal when to come. Also, I might have to make a move against you later, but the benefits I reap, we’ll split fifty-fifty!"
Chu Wei didn’t understand what Wen Wen was up to, but he agreed immediately. Why wouldn’t he agree to something that promised him a share of the benefits?
Just minutes later, a dozen injured Rangers, excluding Chu Wei, had all arrived on the scene and began clearing out the monsters, quickly gaining control of the situation.
Wen Wen grew increasingly ferocious while slaughtering the monsters, although, of course, the ferocity was feigned...
He recalled the feeling when he lost control and when he first awakened his power, making himself appear as if he was gradually losing his sanity.
Then he fixed his gaze on Wu Wang, his eyes flashing with madness and hatred!
The Rapids Style activated, sharp sword light repelled all the monsters in the path, and Wen Wen, with a trace of frenzy and sky-high belligerence, reappeared in front of Wu Wang!
"Long time no see, I’ve finally found you again!"
Wen Wen said through gritted teeth to Wu Wang, his expression enough to scare a child into silence at night...
Wu Wang’s eyes twitched incessantly after seeing Wen Wen. It truly was Wen Wen.
Had this guy’s strength skyrocketed? The last time they met, he was merely at the Disaster Level. Now, he already possessed the power of a Disaster Intermediate Sequence, while Wu Wang himself had suffered a great loss in power due to the pursuit of the Fishmen Tribe.
Why would he seek me out at this crucial moment?
Wu Wang remembered how, in Furong River City, one of his clones had been killed by Wen Wen, which piqued his interest in Wen Wen, so he personally went to observe him with his actual body.
After the game was over, he narrowly escaped death at Wen Wen’s hands!
Now, to Wu Wang, the most important label he had for Wen Wen was that he was backed by a Catastrophe-Level Expert and was not to be trifled with.
Wu Wang, currently hunted by the subordinates of a Catastrophe-Level Expert, didn’t want to invite more trouble, so without wanting to talk, he immediately prepared to slip away.
If he couldn’t provoke him, couldn’t he still hide from him?
It was pointless to continue summoning monsters here, as summoning more useless fodder, like these weaklings, would have no effect.
Wen Wen frowned; he couldn’t let this guy get away, so he said to Wu Wang, "Don’t go, I’ve come up with a game for you to play!"
"Play a game... "
Wu Wang had no intention of agreeing, but he stopped his escape and said, "The last time I played a game with you, the experience was far from pleasant, so I don’t want to play with you."
Wen Wen became frantic, remembering the sensation of awakening that murderous ability, he presented an extreme and deranged expression towards Wu Wang.
"Don’t want to play? That won’t do, I have to get back at you for the loss I suffered from you before!"
Wu Wang was speechless. Last time they played a game, where did this guy lose anything?
The one who suffered was clearly him, damn it, this shameless bastard!
Wen Wen strained his eyes and said, "You don’t want to play, simply because you’re either too scared to play or you think the stakes aren’t high enough. How about this, if you win just one game, I’ll shoot one of my companions in the head, how does that sound?"
The Game Maniac, Wu Wang, certainly wouldn’t admit to being afraid to play, but he scoffed and said, "Do you think I’m an idiot? What harm would a bullet do to a Ranger?"
"You don’t believe me?" Wen Wen, seemingly driven to madness, trampled the ground, "I guarantee I’ll blow their heads off!"
Wu Wang was somewhat tempted, but quickly continued to refuse, "You blowing off some minor character’s head doesn’t mean much to me—it’s a bad deal if that’s all the penalty I get!"
Wen Wen, furious to the point of spinning in place like he had lost his sanity, said, "If you win just one game against me, I’ll blow a Ranger’s head off!"
Wu Wang looked closely at the Rangers slaughtering the monsters, didn’t notice any Ranger with several heads, nor did he see any possibility of someone surviving after having their head blown off.
He didn’t refuse any longer but instead showed a pleased expression, "I was right about you, after all. You and I are fundamentally the same, both complete lunatics!"
"Alright, I accept the game!"
Wen Wen snorted coldly, "I’m going to blow a Ranger’s head off, you ought to pay an equivalent price."
"So what do you want?" Wu Wang asked warily, worried Wen Wen would pull a fast one.
"Let me blow your head off!" Wen Wen licked his lips, eagerly pulling out Blazing Tiger.
"..."
Wu Wang, scratching his head frantically, said, "Why is it when you lose, you shoot someone else, but if I lose, you shoot me? That’s not fair to me!"
Wen Wen feigned contemplation, then said, "Blowing your head off after just one loss would let you off too easy. How about this, if you lose, you pay me with a usable Containment Item—I don’t care what it is; I just want the win!"
"Fine, it’s a deal!"
Grinning from the corner of his mouth, Wu Wang was not concerned—Containment Items were something he had in abundance. To exchange one for the life of a Ranger was an incredibly worthwhile trade.
Under his gaming abilities, the game was bound to be fair, and once he won, Wen Wen must fulfill his obligation, so Wu Wang wasn’t afraid of Wen Wen cheating.
Once the game began, under the rules of the game, any tricks would be meaningless.
If Wen Wen really did kill a Ranger, then even if Wu Wang couldn’t summon powerful monsters, his objective would be achieved.
Moreover, once Wen Wen took such action, his reputation within the Hunters Association would be utterly destroyed, certainly resulting in being hunted by the Hunters Association.
In a sense, it would also serve as revenge for the previous attack by Wen Wen.
Seeing Wu Wang agree, Wen Wen revealed a slight smile and took out a Bronze Dancer Statue the size of a figurine. Upon infusing it with Superpower, the miniature transformed into a two-meter-tall giant dancer.
"This Bronze Dancer Statue will arrange a random mini-game, and we’ll use it to determine the winner!"
The Bronze Dancer Statue was something Wen Wen had obtained the first time he had encountered Chu Wei; the game box it came with was nearly broken and completely unusable, though he could still use the statue on its own for some mini-games without reward or punishment rules.
Wu Wang checked the Bronze Dancer Statue meticulously from top to bottom, ensuring there was no cheating on Wen Wen’s part. He then began to officiate the game using his ability.
A small scale appeared, upon which Wu Wang set the rules and the reward and punishment mechanisms. He then asked Wen Wen solemnly, "Do you agree to play the game according to the rules set forth above?"
Grinning, Wen Wen responded, "Of course, I agree!"
