The oppressive footsteps were slowly drawing closer, but Wen Wen and his companion didn’t feel the slightest bit of fear, instead annoyed by the other’s slow pace.

When the monster finally appeared before them, Chu Wei gazed upon its face and couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

It was a tall humanoid monster, with blue skin, two horns atop its head, wearing a leather skirt, and holding a glittering golden trident.

As for its appearance, Chu Wei could not make it out.

Because its entire head was covered in dense millipede monstrosities, with even its shoulders and back bearing half-buried millipedes!

Chu Wei was already somewhat afraid of insects of such a form, and the sight of so many millipedes clustered together made his scalp tingle and nearly made him vomit his meal from the previous night.

"It seems a single strange insect can’t control a Disaster Level monster, so it takes many to do the job."

Wen Wen glanced again at the monster’s limbs and noticed traces of iron chains binding them.

It seemed this monster, like the Pig Head they encountered before, was being controlled and then passively parasitized by these bizarre insects.

This made Wen Wen feel somewhat sad. After all, it’s a Disaster Level monster, controlled by insects that could be crushed with a single footstep, which must be even worse than death.

"How pitiful..."

After retching, Chu Wei pointed at the monster and asked, "Didn’t you say there were over a hundred of these insects in Hua Shan City alone? Just the ones I’ve killed before plus this guy should be close to a hundred, right?"

Wen Wen spread his hands and said, "One hundred and a little is over a hundred; nine hundred and ninety-nine is also over a hundred."

After dealing with this one, one must figure out just how many of these insects there are, because that might indicate the number of Disaster Level creatures that could be parasitized!

The power of the Sword Qi was closely related to Wen Wen’s strength. Now, utilising the physiology of a Disaster Intermediate Sequence monster, the Sword Qi he released was naturally of Disaster Intermediate Level attack as well.

Everything in the Sword Qi’s path was sharply severed, then covered in ice. The phrase ’cleave metal and shatter jade’ wasn’t sufficient to describe this Sword Qi.

The blue monster roared, its arm muscles bulging as it slammed down on the Ice Sword Qi, scattering it. The creature’s arms were covered in ice, but with a shake, the ice shattered, leaving only slight frostbite.

This was the power disparity between the Mid-Tier and Lower-Tier Powerhouses. Although those of the Lower Order could contest with the Mid-Sequence for some time due to their abilities, any casual attack by a Mid-Tier Powerhouse was equivalent to a full-force attack by the Lower Order, and hardly any Disaster Lower Order could triumph over the Intermediate Sequence over time.

Seeing the blue monster withstand his strike, Wen Wen’s eyes sparkled, not because of its strength, but because of the enormous trident in its hand.

The trident was crudely forged, but the metal was genuinely high-quality. Moreover, it was over two meters long, about as thick as a child’s arm, large enough to be substantial.

Wen Wen wanted to fashion the Golden Sea Urchin’s spines into a long spear, but the Sea Urchin Spines were only suitable for the shaft, with the tip still lacking in strength. If he could get his hands on that trident, Wen Wen would have enough material to make a sufficient number of long spears.

After parrying Wen Wen’s attack, the monster ignored Wen Wen’s gleaming eyes and hurled the trident. However, the target was not Wen Wen, but Chu Wei, who was off to the side watching.

The astonished Chu Wei couldn’t dodge in time and was impaled directly by the trident, nailed to the wall like a piece of cured meat.

Standing beside Chu Wei, Wen Wen’s eyelids twitched violently, and then he stood back a bit, feeling extremely uncomfortable just being beside Chu Wei.

The swarms of insects inhabiting the green monster’s body let out shrill screams, sensing unease but not knowing where this anxiety stemmed from.

Chu Wei swayed, seeming to adapt to something, then with a brief warm-up, he charged at the green monster.

The green monster gestured for the harpoon, which flew back into its hand, and once again it threw the harpoon. But this time, Chu Wei dodged skillfully and closed in behind the green monster.

Then, like a woman in a quarrel, he greeted the millipedes on the green monster’s body with his hand; the hand’s movements weren’t fast and seemed to carry no special energy, so the millipedes bit at Chu Wei with their sharp forelimbs and powerful mandibles.

But the moment they touched Chu Wei, their bodies turned gray and withered, falling off the green monster!
