Chapter 436: Chapter 434: Martial Law across the City

Wu Wang approached the Fish Monster, lifted its chin with a finger, and brought his face close enough before sneering, "I am completely unrelated to It, and have no interaction with It, yet It sought me out for no reason at all. This alone proves the chaotic nature of this world."

"And to conform to this nature, I will not simply surrender because It is powerful. I intend to do things that make me happy and enrage It!"

"I don’t know what It is using to track me, but when this city is filled with my presence, will It still be able to find me?"

"Once this city is in complete chaos, the Demon Hunters will swarm here, and you will become their targets as well. By then, this place will become a chaotic battlefield, and I will calmly watch the battle and enjoy this grand game."

"Tell me... when all of you die in this city, will the so-called Ancient God feel any heartache?"

The Fishman shook its head, flinging off Wu Wang’s hand, and looked at him mockingly, "The power of the Ancient God is limitless. You dreaming of shaking off His pursuit is nothing but a fool’s dream."

Wu Wang shook his head and said, "I like playing games, playing with people who have nice things, nice abilities!"

"I have been playing this kind of game for many years, and I’ve always been winning. So, I have a lot of nice things in my hands... things beyond your imagination."

He extended his hand, and a Strange Insect over a foot long crawled onto it.

This Strange Insect’s color matched that of human skin, with two rows of large legs on either side of its body, looking like a giant Millipede Monstrosity at a glance.

Wu Wang affectionately stroked the Insect and said, "This Insect is an odd creature I stumbled upon. After cultivating it with my Soul, it now shares the same Qi as mine, and its offspring also carry a similar Qi to mine..."

"I paid a great price to cultivate just this one adult. Now, I will let it incubate inside your body, using the flesh and blood of the Monsters here to proliferate rapidly."

"The larvae will use your flesh and blood to grow swiftly, burrowing into the bodies of humans or Monsters, making them act on their evil instincts. Then there will be countless people and Monsters in this city causing trouble with the same Qi as mine..."

As Wu Wang narrated, the Fishman began to panic; he didn’t want to become a breeding ground for such Strange Insects.

But Wu Wang quickly grasped his chin, preventing his mouth from closing, and then the grotesque creature crawled entirely into the Fishman’s body.

"Enjoy it slowly; you still have three days to live..."

Having said that, Wu Wang laughed madly while descending from the building with bizarre dance steps.

Here he had set up a Barrier using a Containment Item, making it impossible for anyone to discover this place within three days.

Despite his laughter, Wu Wang still felt a twinge of heartache.

He had cultivated that Insect for several years; it could inhabit bodies of Disaster Level superpower users or Monsters and control their actions.

Having the Strange Insect reproduce, while it could create numerous troublemakers with Qi like his as he said, meant that once it was released, it would slip beyond his control. And he had no way to control the larvae that it birthed.

Letting that Strange Insect go would only bring chaos.

But if this arrangement could help him evade the pursuit of Oye Water City, then the sacrifice was worthwhile.

After reaching the ground floor, Wu Wang stopped smiling and reverted to a normal person’s demeanor. Touching his chin, his eyes brightened, and he said to himself, "But those insects might not be enough. Since we’re overturning the table, we need to make a big scene..."

...

As the sky gradually darkened, over a thousand supporters and military and police convoys entered Hua Shan City, sealing off all the city’s entrances and exits, not allowing anyone to enter or leave.

The entire Hua Shan City was under military control, and all phones and internet services were cut off.

Police cars and armored vehicles shuttled between the city streets, using loudspeakers to broadcast messages and soothe the citizens’ emotions.

The blockade of Hua Shan City would not end until the situation was completely resolved.

Unease spread among the populace, but all they could do was hide in their homes and trust that the Federation soldiers would protect them from the rioters.

The information received by the public was that a group of dangerous, armed rioters had infiltrated the city. However, if it were just rioters entering the city, the local Demon Hunters would probably be ecstatic.

For now, the situation in the city could still be temporarily controlled, but as the situation deteriorated, who knew what would happen.

After Wen Wen entered the city and met with the local Hunters Association, he had not yet gathered enough information when he received a message directing all Rangers who had come to Hua Shan City to assemble in a skyscraper in the city center.

Half an hour later, Wen Wen arrived on the top floor of the skyscraper, silently looking down at the pile of bones beneath the spire.

Including Wen Wen, there were now eight Rangers present, each one an elite Hunter capable of standing on their own.

A Demon Hunter with a right hand several times larger than his left approached the pile of bones and carefully inspected them, saying,

"Each of these remnants left behind are from Supernatural Beings. Judging by the number of remnants, there must have been dozens of Supernatural Beings here at least..."

He was an Assimilation Mid-Sequence strength Demon Hunter, codenamed ’Ferocious Beast,’ and he specialized in dealing with monster-types like wild beasts. It was said that his right hand harbored forbidden power.

Wen Wen turned his gaze elsewhere, to a Female Demon Hunter with a voluptuous figure. She was wearing a green bodysuit that shimmered like an insect’s carapace, covered by a gauzy robe adorned with butterfly wing patterns.

Her hair, eyebrows, and lips were all green, giving her an overall appearance that was very green, healthy, and fresh.

Yet, this beautifully shaped woman was now lying ungracefully on the ground, dabbing a slim, scallion-like finger on the ground to pick up some of the sticky substance before bringing it to her nose for a sniff.

Then she told everyone, "It’s insects. This place has been crawled over by a large number of insects. These insects are similar to centipedes, multi-legged arthropods."

Next, she licked the sticky substance from her finger and after carefully tasting the flavor of it, she remarked,

"These insects, each one could possibly possess Calamity Level strength. The strength itself isn’t much of an issue, but the problem is the quantity... Judging by the traces left here, there must have been at least several hundred insects!"

This woman was also a Middle Sequence Ranger, with the codename ’Fearful Butterfly.’ She seemed to have a thorough understanding of insect-related Supernatural Beings.

Among the eight Rangers present, only Fearful Butterfly, Ferocious Beast, and Mystic Detective Wen Wen possessed Middle Sequence strength.
