Chapter 423 - 421 Golden Sea Urchin

Chapter 423: Chapter 421 Golden Sea Urchin

Although it was still just a conjecture, Wen Wen estimated that his guess was very close to the truth, so there was no need to trouble these Sea Urchin monsters further.

But simply letting them go wasn’t acceptable either, for all he knew, they could be deceivers.

Thus, Wen Wen dragged the Sea Urchin Clan leader to a secluded spot, aimed his left hand at this Sea Urchin monster, and black chains surged out, burrowing into the body of the Sea Urchin monster.

Amidst the pig-like squealing agony of the Sea Urchin monster, Wen Wen completed the implantation of the chains.

When Wen Wen returned to the other Sea Urchin monsters with the wan Sea Urchin monster in tow, all of the Sea Urchin monsters showed expressions of terror.

This human... is a devil!

Since Wen Wen didn’t lock up the Sea Urchin leader in the Sanctuary, he couldn’t control him through the chains implanted in his body, but Wen Wen could locate this Sea Urchin monster at any time with these chains!

If this guy deceived him, then Wen Wen would make sure to let him understand what being a pervert meant.

Actually, locking them in the Sanctuary would have been the best approach, but Wen Wen wasn’t sure if they had ever harmed anyone, thinking it highly likely they were really just Sea Urchin Clan farmers.

The Sanctuary only imprisoned monsters that posed a threat to human society, and Wen Wen had no desire to capture those whose threat was uncertain.

After releasing the Sea Urchin Clan leader, he slunk back into the sea with all his clan members in a crestfallen manner.

Standing in the water, the Sea Urchin Clan leader turned around, arrogantly saying to Wen Wen, "Human, we’ve made an enemy of each other. We are merely farmers of the Sea Urchin Clan, but someday Sea Urchin Clan warriors will let you feel what true strength is!"

After saying that, he jumped into the sea, thinking Wen Wen couldn’t follow him into the water.

Wen Wen’s mouth twitched slightly, wanting to give this guy a taste of what strength was, but then he shook his head. He didn’t have time to deal with such a minor character and instead went to Biyi Town’s government building where he found the town records.

Based on some information in the town records, Wen Wen validated his previous thoughts, which were now very close to the true secret of this town.

However, there was still one thing that puzzled Wen Wen: why did the plague only break out now after the townsfolk had been eating the sea urchins for so long? What was the key element that had completely triggered the resentment harbored in those bones?

While pondering, Wen Wen felt a tremor and his Custodian Badge on his chest warmed up, signifying the presence of a monster that posed a great danger to him!

Judging by the temperature of the Custodian Badge, Wen Wen surmised that this newly emerged monster possessed at least Disaster Level strength!

He glanced at the time and saw that it was twelve at midnight, a smile curling on his lips as he said, "This town is getting more and more interesting."

With that, Wen Wen put down the town records, dashed out of the town government building, jumped onto the highest rooftop, and peered into the distance, barely making out the figure of a massive creature.

However, due to the fog, he couldn’t see clearly what it was, so after a moment’s hesitation, Wen Wen ran in that direction.

Once he was close enough, Wen Wen finally saw what the creature looked like — it was a giant Golden Sea Urchin!

"That is the legendary Golden Sea Urchin... I thought it was just a myth, but it actually exists."

The Golden Sea Urchin in front of Wen Wen was as large as a heavy-duty truck, and its spines resembled razor-sharp lances, slowly writhing and propelling its massive body toward the town center.

Upon approaching, Wen Wen didn’t act rashly. This creature had at least Disaster Level strength, and without using his monster physique, Wen Wen would have a hard time dealing with it.

Suddenly, Wen Wen seemed to sense something and quickly hid behind a tree.

Soon after, a dark figure emerged from the town, wielding two weapons in both hands and charging toward the colossal Golden Sea Urchin.

Aside from its eyes and mouth, the figure was entirely black, resembling the main antagonist found in the comic "Grim Reaper Elementary Student".

Wen Wen was all too familiar with this silhouette. The first time Wu Wang had come to play games with Wen Wen, he had sent a puppet just like this one. Unless Wen Wen killed Wu Wang with his own hands, he would never forget the appearance of this puppet.

"This is Wu Wang’s puppet; that guy has gotten involved in this too. He’s certainly capable of starting an epidemic."

"But he usually likes to toy with his opponents. He shouldn’t be engaging in a head-on fight with weapons..."

Wen Wen rubbed his hair in frustration. Although he wanted to take revenge on Wu Wang, he didn’t want to get involved with him now. That man was currently taking the blame for him, pursued by the mysterious Oye Water City.

So Wen Wen hid behind a tree, planning to watch the battle unfold and not to participate until he had a clear understanding of the situation.

The shadow glared at the Sea Urchin and roared, "It’s been over ten days, how are you not dead yet, you damn Sea Urchin!"

The Golden Sea Urchin seemed to not notice the shadow at all and continued to move leisurely forward. It appeared to have a very specific goal, as if something in the center of the town was attracting it.

"Ignoring me again, you beast? Take my Frost of Sorrow!"

The dark figure swung its longsword with the right hand at the Golden Sea Urchin, slashing out an ice blade that struck and shattered upon impact, exploding into a burst of ice flowers.

Although the ice blade was flashy, its power was just that, and it did not harm the Sea Urchin in the slightest.

"You monster are so strong, take my Joy of Fire!" After the failure of the ice blade, the shadow wasn’t discouraged. With a long, red sword in the left hand, he swung and released a fireball.

A trace of intrigue flickered in Wen Wen’s eyes; this shadow’s abilities were quite interesting.

It seemed to rely mainly on those weapons in battle, which were materialized by Supernatural Power, nearly matching the might of Supernatural Weapons!

Moreover, the weapons he could conjure seemed to be not limited to just one or two types. Shields, armor, daggers, scythes—all sorts of weapons manifested in his hands.

Although these weapons weren’t powerful, they did seem quite fascinating.

Under Wen Wen’s covert observation, the figure kept switching weapons, continuously letting out embarrassingly spirited cries.

"Feel my Thunder’s Rage... witness my Earth’s Boredom..."

Although these attacks couldn’t truly harm the Sea Urchin, they did manage to catch the Golden Sea Urchin’s attention, causing it to chase after the shadow.

However, its speed was very slow, and it seemed to struggle to pursue the shadow, always taking its time as if it wasn’t quite serious.

This somewhat monotonous battle went on, and quickly two hours passed; it was now two o’clock in the morning.

The Golden Sea Urchin stopped its body and began to crawl into the sea. No matter how the shadow tried to stop it, the Sea Urchin’s pace was resolute.

As the Golden Sea Urchin submerged below the sea level, the other sea urchins that had covered the town retreated like the tide, vanishing into the night.

The town seemed to regain its tranquility...
