Chapter 367: Chapter 365: The Battle of the Monsters
The Angel of Universal Light tried to prevent the Little Flame Demon from leaving, firing several dazzling beams of light, but the Steel Body Demon, Kulun, leapt up and used his silvery white, robust body to scatter the beams.
As the strongest defender among all the demons here, Kulun suffered the least in a previous explosion. His body, stronger than steel, allowed him to escape the sea of fire before he could take significant damage.
He beat his chest like an ape, creating a sound as if metal were clashing with metal, signaling a challenge to the Angel of Universal Light.
However, this barbarian-like method of challenge did not catch the attention of the Angel of Universal Light, but it did attract another terrifying behemoth.
The Underground Palace Monster, standing seven or eight meters tall, leaped tens of meters into the air. Its four forelimbs formed a huge fist that came crashing down from the sky, pounding Kulun with such force that the surrounding ground collapsed, creating a vast crater.
The favorite opponents of the Underground Palace Monster were the likes of the Steel Body Demon, who could clash head-on with it. Other weaker demons, possessing a variety of bizarre abilities similar to fleas, could hardly satisfy its bloodlust.
Kulun climbed out of the crater and threw a punch at the Underground Palace Monster. The collision of their fists produced a loud noise.
Then, the two monsters began a close-quarters brawl, gradually moving away from the battlefield.
The Devouring Demon Yizar and the Fear Hand Demon Hore exchanged glances, both sensing unease in each other’s eyes.
The attackers had already presented two Disaster Level creatures. Along with that sniper, there were three entities with equivalent combat strength.
But were there really only three of them?
Clearly, there were not.
A green phantom quietly appeared behind the Fear Hand Demon Hore, its body carrying a stream of unclear data.
Sensing something unusual behind him, Hore’s body hair bristled, and his left hand with dagger-like fingers suddenly reached backward. His knife hand could slice through metal, but this time it cut through nothing, as if the shadow behind him was just a shadow and not a real opponent.
This green figure was naturally Yan Biqing.
"Let’s get one thing straight—this isn’t personal...but, I’m going all out!"
As he spoke, Yan Biqing leaped out of the Imaginary Space, instantly going into a super-forgiving mode as he turned green. He bypassed Hore’s fearsome knife hand and landed a punch on his abdomen, sending him flying.
Next, he transformed into a green meteor. Before Hore could land, he struck him again, sending him flying anew.
The melee among Disaster Level entities was dangerous, so one-on-one combat was safer. At least this way, one only needed to watch out for one opponent.
With a sullen expression, Yizar pondered. Now that his colleagues were each engaged in combat with different monsters, it seemed he was left to face this Avian.
...
Wen Wen rode the Yingying Monster, inspecting the entire battlefield.
In his hand was a large-caliber anti-matériel sniper rifle, capable of piercing through twenty-millimeter-thick steel plates. Even in the hands of a normal person, it could pose a significant threat to Disaster Level monsters—provided that the person could match the monsters’ superior reaction abilities.
Wen Wen, however, simply used the rifle as if it were a regular infantry weapon. Whenever he saw one of his monsters about to face a disadvantage, he’d fire a shot, causing great pain to the demons. The unlucky ones might even be killed outright by this single shot, making him a true troublemaker on the battlefield.
Yet the demons dared not express their anger, for Wen Wen was unreservedly spreading his Qi, letting all demons know that he was a formidable opponent with Disaster Intermediate Sequence strength.
He was best off sniping from afar, because if Wen Wen were to personally enter the fray, it wouldn’t just be troublesome — it would actually be deadly!
As the commander of a faction, Wen Wen needed to ensure he maintained enough prestige, and so he wouldn’t enter the fray unless he encountered a target.
For some reason, the demon leaders seemed able to keep their cool; the entire residential area was nearly demolished by the battle, yet they still didn’t show themselves.
Even though the demon leaders weren’t lifting a finger, the battle was quite interesting, with the Disaster Level monsters’ fighting might being staggering, but they were strong and didn’t need Wen Wen’s care.
What Wen Wen cared most about was the Disaster Level battles.
The reactions of Rodney, a turncoat who had just joined his side, and the succubus attacking their old base were particularly interesting.
And Curly-haired Baboon’s ludicrous battle style was making Wen Wen almost unable to hold back his laughter.
Poker General was like a juggler, driving his opponent nearly insane...
But none of these fights captured Wen Wen’s attention like Tao Qingqing’s battle, given that she was his personal pet.
Tao Qingqing was facing a Blood Demon, which was entirely red with a layer of flowing blood outside its body.
This blood granted it tremendous speed and strength, and it could transform into various weapons to assist in battle, somewhat similar to Black Blood Princess’s abilities but lacking her withering characteristic, only providing immense destructive power.
The Blood Demon’s habits were somewhat similar to a vampire’s, both feeding off the blood of living creatures, but unlike vampires, the Blood Demon knew no restraint, and few survived its attacks.
Today, its opponent was equally a manipulator of blood!
Bats held aloft Tao Qingqing’s slim and well-proportioned body, hovering mid-air, as countless small bats swarmed the Blood Demon, biting into it.
These feeble creatures couldn’t cause any substantial damage to the Blood Demon, but each bite took away a bit of blood from it, slightly reducing its strength.
To prevent excessive blood loss, the Blood Demon forcefully pounded the ground, turning its blood into spikes, transforming into a giant red sea urchin that impaled the surrounding bats!
Then it leaped high, forming a large hammer with its blood, and smashed it towards Tao Qingqing.
Tao Qingqing dispersed the bats and prepared defensively for the Blood Demon’s attack, but just then, a bloom of blood erupted from its shoulder, followed by a loud blast.
The Blood Demon’s attack was interrupted by the shot, and looking up to see Wen Wen, it felt nothing but helplessness.
The Blood Demon knew Wen Wen’s tactic: as soon as a monster was defeated by a demon, he would snipe, but the fight had just begun—why was he shooting already?
"Sweetie, be careful, and don’t get hurt by this ugly thing."
As long as the Blood Demon made any move, it got shot, causing it intense pain, and Tao Qingqing lost interest in the fight.
This was her battle, not Wen Wen’s game.
Just as she was about to give up, Wen Wen’s expression changed, and he quickly whisked the Yingying Monster away.
Both Blood Demon and Tao Qingqing were overjoyed and resumed their battle with gusto.
