Chapter 363: Chapter 361 Black Cross Rally!
Outside the wall was a crumbling factory, but inside it was like a sanctuary on earth; Wen Wen wouldn’t doubt for a second if he were told this was an Angel’s stronghold.
The walls, tiles, ground, street lights, and flower pots—apart from the occasional green plants—everything was white.
From the sky above with his Magic Eye, Wen Wen saw nothing but an ordinary abandoned factory, but up close through the perspective of a beetle, the splendor here became apparent.
It seemed the demons here had employed some kind of concealment, not allowing anyone to easily detect the anomalies.
The path was spotless, not even a single leaf in sight, with several workers in black vests diligently maintaining the cleanliness. Here, black denoted low status, while white suits were a symbol of high ranking.
Before Wen Wen had the chance to look more closely, he was swept under a tree root by a broom— the worker even jabbed at the beetle a few times with the broom. In such a place, even a beetle was conspicuous.
Since Wen Wen’s visual and sensory connection was linked to the beetle, the whole ordeal felt like riding a supercharged hellish roller coaster.
The beetle’s antennae and front limbs angrily waved at the worker: "I’ve got you pegged, got you pegged, I will send you to see Hu Youling!"
The environment here made Wen Wen realize the difference between demons and other monsters—if this were any other monster’s nest, probably nobody would notice even if a dead body were thrown in.
Next, Wen Wen controlled the beetle to circle around the processing plant.
Don’t be fooled by the beetle’s short legs; as a Superpower entity, those tiny limbs could move surprisingly quickly—at least outmaneuvering the workers posed no problem.
After getting a clear layout of the processing plant, Wen Wen had the beetle return to him. Venturing deeper might encounter demons, and the likelihood of being discovered was too great.
However, the setting here did raise some suspicions for Wen Wen.
"If the demons were merely residing here, it’s natural that the Kowei Group didn’t notice. But to transform this place to such an extent... it would take a large renovation team at the very least," he thought.
"Moreover, there are many items belonging to the Kowei Group left behind; even for a corporation as big as Kowei, this is too extravagant and wasteful."
Wen Wen suspected there might be a connection between this group of demons and the Kowei Group, but it was only suspicion. After all, with the capabilities of the demons, anything was possible.
Still, just communicating these suspicions would be enough for professional Supporters to start an investigation into the matter.
After completing his preparations, Wen Wen found a spacious and deserted spot to wait for nightfall.
The confrontation between the monster group and the demons would definitely feel more potent under the cover of darkness!
When the sun had set and the full moon rose, shining stars speckling the night sky, Wen Wen jumped onto the rooftop, gazing at the Demon Residential District not far away, a faint smile on his lips.
He snapped his fingers, and a bracelet appeared on his wrist; his body instantly became immensely burly, and quite an eyesore. Wen Wen rarely used his Philosophical Form again!
But this time, Wen Wen had prepared a robe for himself. Once clothed, he no longer looked as grotesque.
Once ready, Wen Wen snapped his fingers again, and four Disaster Level Monsters, as well as over twenty Disaster Level monsters, appeared instantly behind him.
All the humanoid monsters were dressed in dark red robes adorned with a Black Cross, while those who couldn’t wear robes were sprayed with red and black paint...
The Angel, Yan Biqing, and Little Red Riding Hood, three Disaster Level Monsters, stood at the forefront. Their presence alone outweighed all the Disaster Level monsters.
The Underground Palace Monster, due to its immense size, stood at the very back, and although it wasn’t robed, even people who had entered the Underground Labyrinth before would probably not recognize it. With its high-speed evolution capability, it had already evolved into a form suitable for living on the surface.
Now it had four legs and four claws, a head like a crocodile, a body like a brown bear, and a tail similar to that of a long-tailed monkey, only with three segments. Its body was completely covered with black hair, like that of a brown bear, making it entirely different from its original form.
Wen Wen meticulously sized up the group of monsters, nodding with satisfaction. Xu Hai’s craftsmanship was impeccable; each garment fitted perfectly, though perhaps the color scheme Wen Wen had chosen was problematic—at first glance, it looked like a bunch of perverts draped in bed sheets...
But this minor issue was of no great importance. After mulling over his speech for a while, Wen Wen cleared his throat and proclaimed loudly to the crowd,
"This is Black Cross’s first assembly. Show your might; among the monsters taken to the Sanctuary, there are no cowards!"
"Your objective lies within this factory. Find them, defeat them, plunder them!"
"Black Cross, move out!"
After hearing Wen Wen’s rousing declaration, the monsters responded weakly: "Oh..."
They were not at all inspired by Wen Wen, but just when things were about to grow awkward, the simple-minded Underground Palace Monster leaped forward and attacked directly.
It, born with the desire to destroy all living beings, could no longer contain its urge to fight amongst demons.
It moved all four legs and claws in tandem, charging like a heavy armored tank toward the center, smashing through the high wall which crumbled as easily as a block of tofu.
Wen Wen watched the Underground Palace Monster with satisfaction; simple-minded subordinates were the best. Otherwise, his speech might have fallen flat, which would have been quite embarrassing.
The spectacle of a Disaster Level monster intent on destruction was astonishing. Buildings collapsed under its powerful body, and the entire demon residential district even shook slightly.
The demons reacted instantly, and a winged demon attempted to stop the Underground Palace Monster, but was swiftly caught by its tail and thrown away with great force.
After being held in the Sanctuary for so long, it wasn’t going to miss this rare opportunity to unleash itself.
Noticing that demons were indeed appearing, the Angel of Universal Light’s eyes emitted a foot-long white light, buzzing with excitement.
In Wen Wen’s eyes, however, it now looked like there were two foot-long glow sticks inserted into its eyes...
Witnessing demons once more after a thousand years, the Holy Light within the Angel of Universal Light boiled over. It took to the skies, circling around the demon residential district once.
Pure white feathers fell, bathing the entire district in a faint glow.
This glow weakened the demons to a certain extent, ensuring greater success for this night’s raid.
Each angel was a born war machine; when faced with enemies that needed to be eliminated, they instinctively executed the most reliable battle strategies.
Seeing that both angels and the Underground Palace Monster had been mobilized, Yan Biqing cast a deep glance at Wen Wen before casually walking towards the center of the factory.
Being able to escape from that cell was a dream come true for him, but the chains constrained him so that even if he fled far away, he would be recaptured by that terrifying place.
If he couldn’t resist, then he might as well enjoy himself.
And the last Disaster Level monster, Little Red Riding Hood, approached Wen Wen, tugging at the hem of her clothing, biting her lip and widening her eyes as she looked at Wen Wen, pleadingly saying, "Um, could I have my cloak back for a while..."
