Chapter 354: Chapter 352: Subduing the Demon
A beam of pure white light was released from Wen Wen’s fingertips, illuminating Wang Zixuan’s body. As he tore at the steel bars, his body instantly became weak and limp, his skin feeling as though it was being scorched by a fierce fire.
Demons are purely negative energy beings; positive forces like Holy Light can inflict tremendous damage on them, with creatures such as angels that wield positive energy having a natural advantage over them.
To deal with him, Wen Wen didn’t even need to use any special abilities; just the basic skills of an angel were enough to easily overpower him.
Next, Wen Wen walked over to Wang Zixuan, placed him in a chair in the middle of the living room, and then used steel bars, which he could only bend with great effort, to tie him to the chair like a rope.
Meanwhile, Three Cubs had finished eating all the insects and rinsed its mouth at the water dispenser before crawling back onto Wen Wen.
Having eaten something with a strange taste, not rinsing its mouth before approaching Wen Wen was one of the life lessons Three Cubs had learned after becoming Wen Wen’s pet.
After securing Wang Zixuan, Wen Wen asked Three Cubs to keep an eye on him and then took care of Wang Junyi and Yu Hui.
After calming Yu Hui’s emotions and performing a simple detoxification on Wang Junyi, Wen Wen said to them,
"Honestly, I don’t know if I can bring your son back. If you had found me earlier, I might have been more confident, but now... I am not sure."
Yu Hui began to sob softly while Wang Junyi comforted her, looking at Wen Wen with hopeful eyes. He did not speak, but Wen Wen clearly understood what he wanted to say.
Without looking further at the couple, Wen Wen went to the living room and gazed intently at Wang Zixuan.
He had once encountered a Shadow Demon, which he had eradicated using the power of the Calamity Prison Supervisor, so this demon was a novel entity to him.
Wang Zixuan was gradually transforming into something non-human. Once this transformation was complete, he would no longer be Wang Junyi’s son but a terrifying demon.
Thus, what Wen Wen needed to do now was to stop this transformation.
Different from most monsters, apart from a few exceptions, most demons appear unable to directly descend into reality and need a human body to sustain them in the real world.
Using a human body means that unless Wang Zixuan, the host, is killed, it is difficult to stop the transformation. Wen Wen would not hesitate to do so if there were no other options, but it was not yet time for that.
Fortunately, not all human bodies can harbor a demon, so the number of demons in the real world is not high.
Other monsters might enter the real world if they are lucky enough to find a natural passage, whereas demons need a suitable human nearby the passage, just like Zheng Feng once was.
However, Wang Zixuan’s situation was somewhat strange; it seemed he had been specifically bred to be the optimal host for a demon before the possession occurred.
The demon that descended upon him was also different from those entering through normal channels. It did not rely on a coincidental portal but seemed to use a dedicated channel.
Although this dedicated channel was somewhat slow, it was stable. After briefly observing, Wen Wen couldn’t find a way to close it.
After noting the anomaly and recalling the eerie text message indicating there was more than one victim, Wen Wen concluded,
"Someone is mass-producing suitable shells for demons, with a planned scheme to bring demons to descend!"
After reaching this conclusion, Wen Wen’s heart clenched. The way this demon had descended posed a great threat to the real world, and Wen Wen had to seal it away!
However, he did not immediately notify the Association but planned to benefit from the situation before reporting it, after all, he was no longer the weak Wen Wen of before and had sufficient ability to handle some matters.
Moreover, Wen Wen always felt that his cell would be incomplete without imprisoning a demon or two.
"So, let’s first try to slow down your transformation. I remember demons have some very peculiar characteristics."
Wen Wen vanished into the air and returned a minute later with some items from the Sanctuary.
He first used lime to draw a twelve-pointed star pattern around Wang Zixuan, which was an Array from the Hunter Association archives specifically used to deal with real-world demons.
This Array was very effective against demons; even if drawn by ordinary people, it could prevent weak demons from escaping.
Then, Wen Wen took a small watering can and poured water over Wang Zixuan’s head.
This was no ordinary water but Holy Water. When the Holy Water fell on Wang Zixuan’s head, it evaporated instantly like water on a red-hot Branding Iron, and Wang Zixuan let out an inhuman howl.
The effects of Holy Water on demons were significantly more pronounced than on vampires, even enough to cause real damage.
"Tsk, there’s not much Holy Water left. Maybe I should steal some from the nearby church..."
The Holy Water Wen Wen used was still from the very first large barrel he had stolen; now, all that was left was an ordinary little spray bottle.
Holy Water is simply water that has been soaked with a Cross and blessed by the church; the amount that can be made at once depends entirely on the size of the container.
If Wen Wen believed in the so-called Creator, he could even produce it with no difficulty, and with his current permissions, he could actually obtain it through official channels, but he preferred stealing...
His encounters with Angels, Unicorns, and in Spectrum Town made Wen Wen harbor an indescribable disgust towards the Federation’s largest religious organization.
The combination of the Array and Holy Water noticeably slowed down the rate at which Wang Zixuan was undergoing changes, and even the entity attached to Wang Zixuan seemed to be retreating.
But this was not enough to expel it. To fully resolve his problem, the source needed to be dealt with.
Wen Wen guessed that this transformation did not occur out of thin air; there had to be a source, and once the source was resolved, Wang Zixuan’s condition could be completely reversed.
If Wen Wen did not want to kill Wang Zixuan, then this was the only way left. Using this method, he could at least extend the time before a complete transformation for a few days. It was a painful and cruel thing for Wang Zixuan, but it was the only way to keep him alive.
After thinking it through, Wen Wen said to Wang Junyi, "I’m going out to deal with the source of this issue. You keep an eye on him. If he shows any fierce resistance, just sprinkle some Holy Water on him. I’ll have the Three Cubs stay behind to ensure your safety."
Wen Wen did not consider notifying the Hunters Association of Lu Gang City; he still did not know how many demons were involved in the Wang Zixuan incident.
The way Lu Gang City handled the Wang Zixuan incident made Wen Wen very uneasy; although they might not be in collusion with the demons, the possibility of having demon spies inside was extremely high.
Seeing Wang Junyi nod in agreement, Wen Wen took all the information about the mysterious text messages from him and set off to fight the demons.
