Chapter 300: Chapter 298 Nest of Destruction

After Miao Miaomiao left, Wen Wen greeted Qiao Feiya and followed after her, wanting to see what the Containment Item actually looked like.

Watching their retreating figures, Qiao Feiya pouted, feeling a bit wronged.

"I’m really sincere, why do they look like I’m bullying them?"

Ever since she was born, Qiao Feiya hardly had any friends because her every move seemed arrogant to others, although she might never have had such thoughts.

Her father would comfort her with these words, "This is the chasm between geniuses and the ordinary. The more apparent it becomes, the more it proves you are exceptional."

After a slight feeling of loss, Qiao Feiya crouched down, her face full of disgust as she picked up a slippery tumor, clumsily cutting it off with her longsword, then aimed it at another tumor.

Her movements resembled those of a woman cooking for the first time in a kitchen, making one fear she might cut her own hand with her longsword.

In battle, Qiao Feiya was almost unbeatable among her peers, but in doing some trivial things, she was surprisingly clumsy.

After cutting only a few tumors, sweat beads appeared on her forehead, and the monster’s dark green bodily fluids had soiled her clean and tidy armor.

Perhaps no one would believe that all the stains on her were from harvesting spoils of war, as battling these monsters would not even dirty her armor.

Thus, she could only cut the tumors one by one, feeling aggrieved, her figure looking pitifully lonely from behind.

...

The hall where Qiao Feiya had fought before was now very close to the core of the Underground Palace; moreover, all the nearby monsters had been dealt with by Qiao Feiya, so the two encountered almost no trouble before they saw that Catastrophe Level Containment Item.

Nest of Destruction!

Seeing that massive thing, Wen Wen couldn’t help smacking his lips, "So this is a Catastrophe Level Containment Item... truly shocking."

What shock would it be if a Sanctuary could contain such a thing...

Wen Wen’s heart yearned like a growing grass to put this thing into the Sanctuary, but with Miao Miaomiao standing right beside him, he couldn’t easily express this desire.

In front of them stood a massive cyan-green Giant Egg, its size not much different from the monster they had encountered underground in Profane Blood.

Above the Giant Egg were indescribable Exotic Texts and rows of holes as large as millstones, each nurturing a hatchling monster within.

These hatchlings were even smaller than the smallest monster Wen Wen had ever seen, looking more fragile than a human infant, their bodies enveloped in a membrane, breathing peacefully.

However, the two did not rashly approach because the Giant Egg was guarded by a powerful Barrier.

The Barrier was comprised of twelve building-sized Energy Runes as its main body, with twelve bizarre Runes encircling the Giant Egg, all connected by more than two-meter-wide blue energy ribbons adorned with dense Exotic Texts.

The Giant Egg was lifted by the Barrier’s immense Energy, floating in midair, looking exceptionally awe-inspiring.

As if already matured, a Monster flashed and then appeared beside Wen Wen and Miao Miaomiao.

The little monster landed and immediately opened its eyes, then quickly devoured the thin layer of transparent mucus on its body, and with a screech, leaped to bite Wen Wen.

Wen Wen raised an eyebrow; this little rascal had chosen a tricky spot to bite.

So he grabbed the little tuft on the top of the small creature’s head as quick as lightning and kicked it onto the barrier, while the small lump remained in Wen Wen’s hand.

When the creature landed on the barrier, a massive amount of blue energy flowed through its body like lightning, and then its entire body completely vaporized in the air.

The two exchanged glances, both seeing the shock in each other’s eyes.

To vaporize a body with just energy, how immense the strength must be, and this was just the outermost layer of the barrier!

It seemed that the giant egg was not necessarily floating in midair, but that this massive barrier had vaporized everything in the vicinity of the giant egg, including the soil.

A barrier of this level was definitely beyond the capability of a superpower user from the Assimilation Realm.

The superpower user who sealed this giant egg had to have at least the strength of the True Self Realm!

After looking carefully for a while, Miao Miaomiao stretched her back and said to Wen Wen, "Having seen this Catastrophe Level containment item, my assessment is complete. I’m going to leave the Underground Palace now, best of luck with your plan."

"Heh heh, see you when I get out," Wen Wen bid farewell to Miao Miaomiao.

After she finished speaking, she crushed the blue crystal. A gentle blue light enveloped her body, and just like in the outside world, Miao Miaomiao’s figure vanished within the Underground Palace.

Wen Wen looked at the spot where Miao Miaomiao disappeared, then at the blue barrier, murmuring thoughtfully.

"Both are blue, could the superpower user with the teleportation ability be related to this massive barrier... there indeed seems to be a subtle resemblance in their aura."

Once Miao Miaomiao had left, Wen Wen had more he could do. First, he stared intently at the twelve huge blue runes on the barrier, his eyes shining.

"If I were to carve these runes on my Rune Short Sword, I wonder if it would have any effect."

He then took out paper and pen from the Sanctuary and began to sketch the runes.

These runes were incredibly large, and with Wen Wen’s abilities, he should have been able to draw them correctly, but he went through an entire notebook and was only able to copy down two runes.

With the other runes, regardless of trying to memorize them or drawing them on paper, errors would bizarrely occur.

And as for the two successfully sketched runes, Wen Wen had no confidence in utilizing them; he had simply drawn them on paper.

"This won’t do, rather than wasting time here, it’s better to check out the runes on the other side,"

In Wen Wen’s view, some runes were obstructed by the giant egg and could not be seen, so he spent some time making his way around to the opposite side. When he saw the full picture of these runes, his pupils involuntarily dilated.

Because among the runes on the opposite side, he saw a familiar symbol.

That rune was actually somewhat similar to the runes used in the Sanctuary to imprison Ghosts and prevent their escape, even to the point where Wen Wen felt that the huge rune was an upgraded version of the runes from the Sanctuary!

"In the Sanctuary, the runes in the Disaster Level cells are a bit more complex than those in the Calamity Level, maybe when I capture a Disaster Level or Catastrophe Level ghost, the runes that appear in the cell will be in the form of this rune."

After a brief moment of absent-mindedness, Wen Wen continued his transcription. In the meantime, two monsters attempted to attack him, but he easily killed them.

With Miao Miaomiao not by his side, Wen Wen had even more methods at his disposal.
