Chapter 264: Chapter 262: The Huge Iron Bed

"What supporter you’re talking about, I don’t understand," Zhu Haiyang said, baffled.

Wen Wen sat at the top of the stairs, smiling at Zhu Haiyang. The more Wen Wen watched, the more Zhu Haiyang panicked, until his expression could no longer hold.

He hurriedly reached towards his lower back, where a pistol was holstered. As a well-trained supporter, he was confident in taking down this ordinary supporter.

But as he felt behind his back, cold sweat instantly covered his forehead. His gun was gone, and in the holster was only a physiotherapy device of similar weight.

Uh... this was swapped by Wen Wen while he was dizzy in the ward.

Wen Wen toyed with a black pistol, looking at Zhu Haiyang with amusement and said, "You’re too careless. From the moment you noticed something off about me, you should have ensured your weapon was secure."

Then, he casually disassembled the pistol into parts and said, "I can’t let you shoot. I don’t want more people coming over before I’ve finished my work."

"When did you realize," Zhu Haiyang asked, somewhat despairingly.

He knew the fate of a captured supporter. The only survivor he had seen had been rescued in a state where he had become a gaunt old man, even though he was only twenty-three at the time.

Wen Wen touched his chin and said, "You exposed too many flaws. For example, you and your two classmates weren’t close enough to be coming out to play as a group. Plus, you focused all your attention on me, and your familiarity with this place, insisting on sticking with me, was also very illogical..."

After pointing out a host of Zhu Haiyang’s oversights, Wen Wen smacked his lips and said, "Of course, being as smart as I am, I knew something was off about you from the moment you struck up a conversation with me."

"This place being contracted by the amusement park must be a sham, right? You’re certain there’s an issue here, but you don’t know where the problem lies, so you keep allowing ordinary people to come here for ’exploration’."

Zhu Haiyang stumbled, his face pale as he said, "Then why didn’t you kill me right from the start?"

"Because it’s fun, of course," Wen Wen replied without hesitation, making it seem like that was indeed what he thought.

Zhu Haiyang clenched his teeth but did not dare to contradict Wen Wen.

"I don’t want to kill you, but it’s not good to let you run around either. So you’ll just follow me for now."

Wen Wen flashed a radiant smile at Zhu Haiyang. Under the faint moonlight, that smile sent chills down his spine.

Moments later, Zhu Haiyang’s hands were bound, and a collar was placed around his neck, with a chain at the end held in Wen Wen’s hand.

"You might as well kill me, or I won’t let you go," Zhu Haiyang growled at Wen Wen, neck strained against the humiliation of the dog collar.

"I look forward to your attempt at retaliation," Wen Wen smiled even brighter.

Of course, Wen Wen didn’t plan to kill Zhu Haiyang, who strictly speaking was also Wen Wen’s colleague. Pretending to be a tourist here was fine as long as nothing happened, but if things went awry, there could be a risk to life.

But Wen Wen disapproved of using ordinary people as bait and didn’t want the Hunters Association to get involved in the affairs here. So, he chose to toy with Zhu Haiyang in this manner.

After dealing with Zhu Haiyang, Wen Wen turned his attention to the massive iron lock on the gate.

He confidently took out two wires, ready to pick the lock. As a detective, lockpicking was an essential skill.

But to Wen Wen’s surprise, the lock could not be opened in this way.

"Give up. To prevent anyone from entering, our Qianhe City Association has installed a special lock and gate here. You cannot open it. Before you manage to open this gate, my colleagues will realize something is wrong with me, and then you’ll be finished," Zhu Haiyang said mockingly, still oblivious to the fact that Wen Wen was a superpower user.

Wen Wen rolled his eyes, looking at Zhu Haiyang as if he were looking at an idiot.

He somehow managed to produce a small hammer and ferociously struck the junction between the iron door and the wall. After a few hits, he dislodged the iron door right in front of an astounded Zhu Haiyang.

"The door is custom-made," he said, "but the wall isn’t."

Having said that, Wen Wen led Zhu Haiyang up to the fourth floor, eager to see what awaited them there.

Zhu Haiyang felt a tingling on his scalp. The fourth floor was the only place in the entire mental hospital with abnormalities, sealed off precisely to prevent ordinary people from accidentally wandering in.

Unlike the third floor, the fourth floor had a large open space, with no walls except for the load-bearing ones and devoid of any extra decorations. In the center stood a massive iron bed.

Wen Wen remembered this iron bed; it was where he had awakened.

He walked straight to the iron bed and, even after half a year, there wasn’t a speck of dust on it.

Zhu Haiyang was shocked by Wen Wen’s actions; he could actually get so close to this iron bed!

The entire mental hospital considered only this iron bed as a supernatural object. The Association didn’t want to remove it, mainly because no one was able to approach it!

Wen Wen glanced at Zhu Haiyang, guessing roughly what the situation was. To him, this was just an iron bed, but for others, it might pose a great danger.

Ever since he entered the third floor, he had sensed something on the roof calling out to him. Clearly, that item was this iron bed.

The Sanctuary’s lack of response indicated that this call was meant for him alone and had nothing to do with the Sanctuary... at least on the surface.

After pondering for a moment, Wen Wen untied Zhu Haiyang’s ropes and said to him, "You should leave. And when you do, drive out those ordinary people as well. I suspect something is about to happen."

He knew that once he began the Exploration, a wide range of abnormal events could occur, but he didn’t want to involve the ordinary people.

Zhu Haiyang looked at Wen Wen suspiciously, first sticking his hand into his pocket and pressing a few times. When he saw that Wen Wen didn’t stop him, he hastened his actions.

"Even if you’re signaling someone, hurry up and get those ordinary people out..."

Suddenly, Wen Wen’s eyes widened as a strange impulse arose within him, giving him an uncontrollable sensation. Then he slowly sat down on the iron bed.

Something was about to start!

Wen Wen wanted to enter the Sanctuary but sensed a faint resistance from it. Forcing his way in was possible, but it might lead to unfavorable outcomes.

So he immediately turned fiercely towards Zhu Haiyang and yelled, "Get out now!"

Realizing something was amiss, Zhu Haiyang ran for his life. The Supporters had been specially trained for such scenarios.

Only now did Zhu Haiyang realize that Wen Wen actually harbored no ill will toward him; otherwise, he wouldn’t have let him go.

At this moment, Zhu Haiyang had just one thought: to call everyone out before whatever was about to happen occurred.

He had an intuition that something was expanding behind him.

Wen Wen kept trying to resist, but he couldn’t control his body and ended up lying down on the iron bed, unable to help closing his eyes.

And then...

Darkness spread!
