Chapter 240: Chapter 328 The Sins of Humanity

Ugh, this is Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight... Ah!

...

Although Wen Wen had not personally investigated Lishui Villa, he had already thoroughly checked the backgrounds of the employees there through other channels.

Liu Yankai had been the manager of Lishui Villa for several years.

If he was truly just an ordinary person being coerced as he claimed, how did he manage to deal with those lunatics and monsters?

Those guys didn’t have the slightest hint of humanity.

So, Wen Wen didn’t believe a word he said.

If it had been any other time, Wen Wen might have tried to pry information out of him indirectly, but now he didn’t have the time for that.

Since he already suspected him, it would be better to just ask directly what he wanted to know.

Thus, Wen Wen’s eyes turned bright red as he employed the vampire’s hypnotic ability on Liu Yankai!

Almost instantaneously, Liu Yankai’s expression turned bewildered—now, no matter what Wen Wen asked him, he would answer.

"Speak, what is the main purpose of you people at Lishui Villa?"

With an expressionless face and his eyes aimlessly wandering, Liu Yankai opened his mouth emotionlessly and said, "My main job is to manage the ordinary staff inside the villa and help the Corrupt Blood cover up the situation within the villa."

"The main task of the other staff is to lure humans, who wouldn’t be missed if they disappeared, to the estate in their spare time, as blood nourishment for some of the monsters..."

"Some monsters don’t like to feed on raw humans, so there are chefs here too..."

With each word Liu Yankai uttered, Wen Wen’s expression grew colder, and the other villa staff couldn’t help but shudder. How could he just spill all their secrets without any restraint?

Wen Wen asked coldly, "How many humans have died at your hands?"

Liu Yankai thought for a long time but still did not answer.

Wen Wen’s face darkened, which meant that he himself didn’t even know how many people he had killed!

Even a perverted murderer would know exactly how many people they had killed. To lose track of the number of victims means one is either mentally challenged or so desensitized by the sheer volume of killings!

Looking at the faces of the others, Wen Wen had a rough idea of the situation.

Almost instantly, he made his decision. Then, joining his hands to form a knife, he "gently" struck where Liu Yankai’s neck met his shoulder.

As an ordinary person, Liu Yankai was unable to withstand Wen Wen’s hand strike and promptly fainted, his shoulder beginning to swell.

Wen Wen said without any sincerity, "What a headache. How come I can’t control my strength again?"

Alright, it wasn’t that he couldn’t control his strength; he just didn’t want to.

In his eyes, these people were not good creatures, so it was only natural to knock them out a bit harder.

Next, Wen Wen charged into the crowd like a tiger amongst sheep, knocking down each one with a strike of his hand like playing whack-a-mole. He then dragged them one by one into the Sanctuary.

When the Sanctuary was upgraded before, Wen Wen had gained the ability to drag ordinary people into it.

If Wen Wen wanted to get them out of here, the only way was through the Sanctuary; he could just release them after leaving.

However, many from this group who entered the Sanctuary would never have the chance to come out again, as Wen Wen planned to make them into prison guards of the Sanctuary.

They served monsters for various reasons, harming even more innocent people. Perhaps they were coerced, perhaps they had their reasons...

But many things, once done, leave no room for turning back; even if coerced, after getting used to killing, it’s hard to return to a normal life.

After returning, Wen Wen would interrogate these individuals. Those who weren’t too deeply involved, he would release and let the Hunters Association deal with them.

And those who could no longer return to a normal life, just keep on doing their original jobs, serving monsters!

After dealing with these humans, there was nothing left worth exploring underground. Hesitating for a moment, he still ran toward that superpower user in the Assimilation Realm.

He’d go check it out in the end and see if he could gain any benefits.

He concealed his aura, approached the entrance, and then directly concentrated his Philosophical Aura onto his greatsword, swinging it with all his might.

The powerful Sword Qi struck without warning, catching the superpower user by surprise.

But he managed to react in time, his body turning into a blue smoke and then suddenly appearing in another direction. Wen Wen’s Sword Qi didn’t harm him in the slightest.

It was then that Wen Wen finally got a clear look at the superpower user.

He was dressed in casual denim, with skin that had a slight bluish tint. In his hand, he held a blue metal fork with three prongs, which perhaps could be called a trident.

Pointing at the fork, Wen Wen joked, "Your manure fork looks pretty nice."

The superpower user showed no expression, leaving behind a blue smoke at his original spot before suddenly disappearing.

Almost at the same time, he appeared above Wen Wen, thrusting the blue trident down toward Wen Wen’s head.

Feeling the coldness above his head, Wen Wen instinctively ducked, then with swift movements, he escaped the superpower user’s attack range in a rather bizarre posture.

He then leaped up from where he was, his greatsword slicing through the air with a howling sound.

But even at such a close distance, Wen Wen still didn’t hit the superpower user!

"He’s not faster than me, in fact, he’s much slower... but it seems like he can perform spatial jumps!"

Wen Wen’s expression grew solemn; such a highly mobile enemy was not easy to deal with, and being entangled by him would not bode well.

However, if Wen Wen felt the superpower user was hard to deal with, the latter actually thought the same of Wen Wen.

From Wen Wen’s reaction speed, even if he could teleport, he wouldn’t be able to take Wen Wen down for sure. The division was nearly finished, and there was no need for him to have a drawn-out battle with Wen Wen.

So, he gave Wen Wen a deep look, once again turned into blue smoke, and this time he did not appear from an unexpected place but simply vanished.

After the superpower user left, the only things left obstructing Wen Wen were a few monsters acting as laborers for that superpower user.

They all had green, pockmarked skin and were slightly smaller than humans, with sharp, large ears and a big mouth, wearing only a burlap cloth.

Originally there were about a dozen in the room, but most of them had been accidentally killed during the brief fight.

Wen Wen took a quick look at these monsters and scoffed, "These guys look like the minor monsters from video games; Profane Blood using these as workers doesn’t hold any prestige."

These monsters didn’t appear to be very intelligent. Their boss had run away, but they were still chattering noisily at Wen Wen, annoying him greatly.

So, Wen Wen wielded his sword and killed four of them, leaving only the last one, which was slightly stronger, to be taken to the Sanctuary.

It’s worth mentioning that this slightly stronger one was actually at the bottom of the Calamity Level monsters...
