Catastrophe Containment Facility -

Chapter 216: Chapter 214 SRS Foundation
As Feng Ruixing forced a smile, his thoughts were far from pleasant.
"All that talk, and in the end, it’s still through intimidation that I’m made to join. In the car, you were so frightening, I don’t believe for a second that you’re a good person."
Of course, he didn’t dare say these words out loud.
Wen Wen first pulled out a dagger and handed it to Feng Ruixing.
"Going forward, the Sanctuary will have many areas that need your attention. This dagger can harm supernatural creatures; consider it a welcoming gift from me."
Feng Ruixing picked up the Rune Dagger, and as soon as he gripped it, he felt a difference; this dagger was definitely not an ordinary weapon.
The surface of the dagger was covered with patterns like a field of stars, the likes of which he’d never seen on metal before.
There was no doubt the dagger was extremely valuable!
Hmm...
Although the outer layer of the dagger was just scrap metal, it truly was a treasure.
No matter what, this dagger had been tempered by Catastrophe Level powers...
Wen Wen leaned back and said, "Typically, the main duty of a Containment Officer is to confine threatening supernatural entities as much as possible. Can you do that?"
Feng Ruixing gave a bitter smile. He couldn’t even beat a vampire, what could he possibly contain?
"If I don’t want to fight, what work can I do?"
The corners of Wen Wen’s mouth lifted slightly; he had waited for this very question. "Then you’ll need to compensate in other areas. I need you to maintain the regular expenses of the Association."
"Finally, it comes."
Feng Ruixing raised an eyebrow. He knew the reason this person insisted on him joining the Sanctuary, even resorting to near-threats, was simply because he had money.
"Don’t worry, I won’t take advantage of you. What I’m asking you to do is just a job."
Wen Wen snapped his fingers, and a large assortment of items instantly appeared behind him.
It was a pile of cash, along with various kinds of antiques.
He indicated to Feng Ruixing, "You can take all of these. I hope you’ll use this money to run an industry. You’ll have complete control over it and you can take a thirty percent share, but the remainder of the profits must all be used to support the Sanctuary."
Feng Ruixing nodded, accepting the offer, as Wen Wen’s terms were far beyond his expectations.
At least, this wasn’t a one-sided exploitation, lending Feng Ruixing a bit more goodwill towards the Sanctuary.
"Manage this industry well, and you won’t miss out on the benefits. In the end, you’ll find that what you receive will far exceed what you’ve given," said Wen Wen.
After the two had discussed the specific implementation plan, Feng Ruixing asked Wen Wen, "This industry, what would you like it to be named?"
Wen Wen looked up, pondered for a moment, and replied, "Let’s call it—The SRS Foundation."
Feng Ruixing noted down all of Wen Wen’s requests and was ready to leave. As he approached the door, he turned back to ask,
"I’ll fulfill your requirements, but I want to ask in advance, if I encounter any trouble, can the Sanctuary provide me with protection?"
"Of course, it will," Wen Wen said with a gentle smile, as his aura suddenly burst forth.
Feng Ruixing’s entire body shuddered as goosebumps erupted all over; he could feel that sitting there was not a man, but a black Human Demon.
After reining in his aura, Wen Wen said calmly, "Cast aside the distractions in your heart. I, or rather, the Sanctuary, am far stronger than what you see."
Feng Ruixing respectfully made his exit, his back slick with cold sweat.
He understood that the sudden surge of power was not only to reassurance him but also a warning.
Nevertheless, despite being shaken by the display of strength, he felt much more at ease.
"At least from now on, I have a powerful backer too," he thought.
Next, Feng Ruixing repeatedly traveled back and forth to the Sanctuary, transporting the cash and antiques to the outside world.
Unlike Zhao Jinwu, Feng Ruixing had enough ability to sell these antiques for their normal prices, and he even spent his own money to acquire a couple that caught his eye.
He had no intention of skimming from the Sanctuary’s funds; firstly, the current scale of the ’SRS Foundation’ was not tempting enough for him.
Secondly, he found the Sanctuary quite agreeable, so he planned to run this enterprise well.
With the ability ’Rolling Wealth’, Feng Ruixing was destined to never run out of money, so what he needed was not money, but the sense of security that came with being a superpower user.
The Strength displayed by Wen Wen before was able to provide him with the security he desired.
...
"Letting Feng Ruixing manage the Sanctuary’s purse was indeed a stroke of genius."
As a big boss without a lackey, Wen Wen could only resort to self-praise for self-entertainment.
"In so many novels, as soon as the protagonist gets rich, he entrusts the money to his brothers, isn’t that nonsense? Are all their brothers financial geniuses?"
Every craft requires its specialists. Having amateurs manage such a large sum of money, it’s already very lucky not to lose everything down to the underwear.
After a period of self-aggrandizement, Wen Wen suddenly remembered the copper mirror in Feng Ruixing’s room from before.
"That thing seems to have the potential to be a good lackey; I should go and groom it a bit."
In the dark Disaster Area containment warehouse room number three, a copper mirror stood alone.
When Wen Wen appeared outside the warehouse, a clear face showed up on the mirror. Unlike its previously haughty expression, it now looked completely obsequious.
"Great being who controls Calamity, your unworthy servant, Magic Mirror Gidro, offers his loyalty."
Wen Wen sighed and said, "Ah, I still can’t understand what this thing is babbling about."
So, he threw a Federation Common Language dictionary into the cell.
"See if you can self-learn the Common Language. If you manage it, you might actually be a little bit useful."
After the dictionary entered, an invisible force began to flip through its pages, turning them ceaselessly.
"Tsk, this thing is really studying the Common Language. Once it learns, I’ll have the perfect lackey by my side, heh heh heh."
Then, Wen Wen quietly disappeared from outside the door.
In the following days, Wen Wen only took on one mission from the Hunter Association, capturing an ordinary person who had lost control under the influence of Supernatural Powers. Other than that, he stayed hidden at home.
A series of major incidents and successive outbreaks of Catastrophe Level Strength caused all the supernatural creatures in the city to lay low, plunging the city into an unusual calm.
But this kind of calm was not to Wen Wen’s liking, so he planned to apply for the Ranger assessment as soon as the Disaster Area reopened.
As for the long wait, Wen Wen started trying to create Supernatural Weapons.
Currently, in his hands, he possessed several pieces of Supernatural Weapon materials that had lost their spirits.
He planned to try awakening the spirit within these materials using Catastrophe Level Strength or to bestow upon them a new spirit.
As Wen Wen’s authority within the Sanctuary gradually increased, he garnered more and more knowledge.
Though he couldn’t create Supernatural Weapons out of thin air, with Catastrophe Level Strength, he was still capable of accomplishing some feats.
With the development and expansion of the Sanctuary, Wen Wen needed some valuable things to reward his subordinates.
If when the time came to offer rewards he had nothing to give, his credibility as a boss would not hold up.
"Ah... when can I catch a craftsman Monster, so I don’t have to do it myself."
