Chapter 992: Chapter 530 Proud Tiger Da_2

Two young men immediately took off running and in no time at all returned with several plucked and prepared Dorkings.

As the food was tossed in, a comedic scene unfolded. Tiger Da lazily swiped at it with his paw before sweeping it aside like dust. The look of disdain on that tiger’s face could not be missed by anyone—it was true disdain. Had it not been witnessed in person, no one would believe it. A massive tiger displaying such emotive behavior was simply divine.

However, the other tiger inside finally began to peek outside—Yan Fei didn’t want to push Tiger Da directly next to the other tiger. The place where the other tiger rested was simply too cramped to fit Tiger Da.

A group of people grew excited, "Finally, it’s coming out..."

The tigress let out a low moan, and it was unclear whether she was trying to appear fierce or submissive. Either way, she tentatively approached what used to be her food.

Neither the two tigers nor Yan Fei took any notice, but the zoo staff from a distance watching the scene unfold felt their faces flush—the tigress was cautious, baring her teeth and grinning all the while. However, Tiger Da did not react at all, Yan Fei included.

When the tigress got close to the two Dorkings nearest her, she pounced on them, biting down and growling softly. Then she slowly retreated backward.

A Dorking was only a few bites for the tigress. After she finished eating and saw that Tiger Da hadn’t touched the food he swiped aside, she came again...

Each time, she didn’t dare to take much, only one at a time. After eating a few chickens and seeing Tiger Da remain motionless, she even dared to edge closer to him.

This tigress, having been confined year-round in a cramped enclosure, struggled with poor diet and sleep, and likely hadn’t seen another of her kind before. She hardly knew how to interact with her own species.

Watching her bare her teeth and grin as she approached, Yan Fei might have thought she was looking to provoke if she hadn’t been so terrified earlier, hiding in her den and refusing to come out for half a day.

The zoo staff watched the tigress come closer to Tiger Da, all of them buzzing with excitement.

Headmaster Old Wu also breathed a sigh of relief, "Ah, they’re finally getting together. Looks like it’s a done deal this time."

He glanced back, face relaxed, and waved his hand, "Alright, stop gawking. What if we embarrass the tigers? Everyone disperse! It’s not proper to watch them woo each other.

The crowd suddenly felt as though a huge burden had been lifted off their shoulders.

For the sake of this tiger, they’d held three or four meetings in the park, endured twists and turns including an injury to a colleague, and now with a happy outcome in sight, the blue skies and white clouds seemed even more beautiful than before.

Seeing everyone’s expressions, Director Wu felt even more prideful and turned to bid Yan Fei farewell—it really wasn’t great for so many people to be around watching what was about to happen. He would have to ask Boss Yan to bear the inconvenience. In return, they would definitely try to compensate within their means.

He had all this on the tip of his tongue, but before he could speak, he turned his head and his mouth dropped open in shock, accompanied by a collective gasp from the crowd behind him.

Director Wu didn’t see clearly, but those behind him did. The tigress that had come closer sniffed around Tiger Da’s rear a few times. Throughout this, Tiger Da maintained his languid demeanor, either feeling the "little" creature of the same species posed no threat, or perhaps he liked the presence of the opposite sex. In any case, he didn’t budge.

But when the tigress tried to move closer, walking up to place her head next to his big head, Tiger Da shook his head twice as if to tell her to stay away.

Clearly, the tigress didn’t understand. And on her third approach, Tiger Da lifted his front paw and, with a smack, sent her flying away—clearly without a trace of chivalry.

If feline animals typically engage in love-hate relationships, it certainly wasn’t the case here. His attitude resembled that of someone casually waving their hand during office chatter to shoo away a fly buzzing in front of them.

Who said this was leading to something good?

The way it looks, there’s no chance at all!

After being swatted away, the tigress stayed by the wall, whimpering toward them, not daring to approach again. Meanwhile, Tiger Da kept nudging his big head against Yan Fei, acting as if he were well-behaved and pleading not to be abandoned.

That look of indifference... was truly frightening!

Now, even a fool could see that the proud Tiger Da simply looked down on the tigress raised in their park. And to think that they’d brag about working with various animals, particularly tigers and lions, when they were out with friends and family...

This feeling that what once filled them with pride was actually quite unremarkable was bitterly disappointing.

The key issue was being inadvertently ’disdained’ by a tiger, leaving everyone standing there in a daze, not knowing what to do!
