Chapter 698: Chapter 343: I am the Red Scarf_1

If you really want to explore and sightsee, you can’t cover many attractions in just one day.

Faced with countless attractions in Gao City, Yan Fei and his group could only pick a few famous ones to see first. Even so, they could only skim through everything in one day. But they did take a lot of photos, and naturally, they didn’t forget to buy souvenirs.

The choice of the travel route was a bit flawed for the group. They saw the most famous ones first, and after experiencing the initial shock of what was claimed to be the eighth wonder of the world, the other sights seemed somewhat lackluster in comparison.

Fortunately, these attractions all have many historical stories and legends, which compensated for the somewhat mundane views. At this time, there weren’t many tourists, and at all the sites they visited, there were volunteers or professional guides providing explanations. Listening to the stories and sightseeing offered a unique flavor of their own.

On the way back to the hotel, the girls started to chatter and discuss the gains and losses of the trip. As they chatted, they began to hold their stomachs in discomfort.

Why bother going back to the hotel? Let’s find somewhere to eat directly!

The Sixth Miss Guo asked for Yan Fei’s opinion, asking if he wanted to find another steak restaurant. Xu Xiaoyan decided for him: "Since we’re here, let’s eat at a famous local restaurant! Otherwise, wouldn’t this trip be a waste?"

Seeing that Yan Fei did not object, the group made the decision - generally, the girls wouldn’t take the lead in making decisions for Yan Fei, but there was a reason for doing so this time. Last night, the guy was not content after returning to the hotel and went out to inquire about other Western restaurants.

There were indeed other Western restaurants, but sadly, none of them specialized in steaks. And after he asked, they indicated they would not change their ingredients. Firstly, because of the small quantity required, and secondly, because of the prohibitive cost.

In such a big city, it is reasonable to expect authentic steak restaurants, but unfortunately, Yan Fei couldn’t find any. Restaurants that used quality beef were bound to be high-end, and people who couldn’t afford it wouldn’t take notice of such places. Those who could afford it might not necessarily be used to that kind of food - so the customer base for this is too narrow. Asking around on the streets, if you don’t ask the right person, you wouldn’t be able to find any.

The driver had already gone to inquire and came back, explaining: "I found out about a traditional Lamb Paomo restaurant that the locals say is the most authentic. It’s not too far, shall we go there? Brother Yan , Miss Xu, there’s nothing you can’t eat, right?"

Xu Xiaoyan hesitated a bit, then nodded: "Let’s go and see first."

Yan Fei knew why she was hesitant. The gamey smell of beef and lamb is strong, especially lamb, which many people are not used to. She hasn’t eaten lamb much in her life, so having these concerns is normal.

In fact, not only beef and lamb, but many green vegetables, such as carrots and coriander, are also not liked by everyone. Plus, some local specialty dishes can take some getting used to if you’ve never eaten them before due to transportation difficulties.

Years later, when people’s tastes start to become unrestricted, and many meats have lost their unique flavors by the time they reach your mouth, they would start to miss the taste of the meats and vegetables from this time. But by then, all they could do is reminisce.

The car quickly arrived at the destination. Before the group even entered, Yan Fei remembered a new term he had learned the day before and thought to himself that the occupancy rate in this place was very high.

That’s the thing about traditional local restaurants. They have a good reputation, so not only do tourists flock here, but locals also like to eat here, resulting in booming business.

The group had to wait for a while to get a seat. After sitting down, Yan Fei asked Xu Xiaoyan, "How’s it going?"

She felt a little surprised: "The gamey smell here isn’t too strong, I think I should be fine."

The best thing about eating this kind of meal is that you don’t have to wait long. Although the restaurant was quite crowded, the food was served before they barely had time for a few words.

Without being shy, Yan Fei took a bowl off the server’s tray and, not minding the heat, picked up a piece of meat and threw it into his mouth. He chewed a couple of times and then swallowed it. His mood instantly improved and he called out to Xu Xiaoyan, "No wonder so many people from out of town come here to eat. This is really well made. The gamey smell is very light. Try it, it’s fine!"

Only after that did he remember to pass bowls and chopsticks to others.

Everyone had gotten used to his style by now. He didn’t care about anything unless it involved the girl. He could even brush off minor misunderstandings at tourist spots. As long as it wasn’t about the girl, he really didn’t care.

Honestly, the two girls were quite envious of the girl’s treatment, so no one held it against Yan Fei for his impoliteness. To be polite, the Sixth Miss Guo merely said, "Thank you!"

Yan Fei, already picking up a biscuit and starting to soak it for the girl. Upon hearing her thanks, he jokingly replied, "No need to thank, I’m Red Scarf!"

Unfortunately, the joke was lost on everyone but his wife. The other three were from Hong Kong and didn’t really understand. However, a tomboyish girl at a nearby table couldn’t help but keep looking at him.

Being on vacation, Three women; the Sixth Miss Guo, Nana, and Xu Xiaoyan were relaxed, discussing their meals and sharing their experiences of the day while eating.

Yan Fei and the driver were basically just ignored, occasionally asked for their opinions when the three women disagreed about something.

While others were still talking, Yan Fei had already finished his bowl. The girl asked him in a low voice, "Have you had enough? You can order another bowl if you want. You haven’t eaten much these past few days..."

Even if he ate three or five more bowls, to Yan Fei it was just about the taste, originally wanting to have just one. But seeing the girl worried that he hadn’t eaten enough, he happily waved at the nearby waiter and called out, "Waiter, two more bowls here! Here, here..."

Actually, he didn’t need to call out so loudly. Several waiters were standing around, watching, ready to respond to any gesturing customer.

In a blink of an eye, Yan Fei had stuffed down three large bowls, earning the awe of the driver. The Sixth Miss Guo was amazed, "What on earth did you do with all that food?"

He really ate a lot. While the bowls here were big, the girls ordered small servings and the Sixth Miss Guo and Nana hadn’t finished theirs. The driver’s bowl was similar to the large one, but Yan Fei had gulped down three large bowls in succession. Driven by him, the girls ate faster than the other customers around them.

On top of that, they had ordered four dishes. Most were untouched by others, but Yan Fei, not wanting them to go to waste, stuffed them into his own stomach.

Xu Xiaoyan explained for Yan Fei, "He’s strong and works a lot, that’s why he eats a bit more."

The driver also chipped in, "Brother Yan is a Kung Fu master, of course his appetite surpasses that of ordinary people."

As they prepared to board the vehicle, someone called from behind, "Big Brother Red Scarf, wait!"

Those boarding the car, including Yan Fei, paused. Not necessarily because they thought the person was addressing them. It was their first time here, and they only knew a few locals - those friendly guys they had met on the road.

The voice was clearly a young girl’s. The group stopped because amongst the hustle and bustle of the restaurant’s entrance, the voice stood out, crisp and pleasant to the ear.

"Big Brother Red Scarf, wait for me!"

As everyone looked back at the petite figure who had just called out before rushing over, they realized that the tomboyish girl had been addressing them, or more specifically, Yan Fei, who earlier at dinner had said, "Don’t thank me, I’m Red Scarf."

Understanding dawned, and a mix of surprise, astonishment, confusion, and bewilderment appeared on their faces.

In the noisy restaurant, even if the customers all spoke in low voices, it would still feel like a noisy mess. So no one noticed that the tomboyish girl had been distracted since Yan Fei had proclaimed himself "Red Scarf." She had been attentive to his every word, stealing glances, and eavesdropping on his sporadic comments.

When the group was ready to leave, the young girl, who had spent the meal eavesdropping, couldn’t contain herself anymore and followed them out.
