Chapter 271: Chapter 131 Do You Have Anything to Say_1

Yanfei’s father said the matter about Yan Fei’s paper was a small issue, and truly it was.

The next morning, after Xu Xiaoyan completed her yoga lesson with her TV ’master,’ she was just preparing to ’interrogate’ Yan Fei, when the sound of a car horn came from outside the cattle farm.

Through the gate, Yan Fei saw his father, accompanied by a man carrying a briefcase. Behind them was a small white lorry, with its engine still running, waiting to get in.

Who would have thought his father was so capable? The car came directly.

As soon as he opened the door, Yanfei’s father dove straight in: "Xiao Fei, where is the paper you have? Let Uncle Chen take a look!"

Yan Fei glanced at this Uncle Chen, hesitated for a moment, then quickly invited, "Uncle Chen, come in and look. It’s in this room."

Uncle Chen walked in with a laugh, "So you’re Xiao Fei! You are taller than your dad. I think you’ve met me before but maybe you don’t remember. Your dad knows it clearly, ask him about it later."

Then he spotted the dogs behind Yan Fei: "Wow, you raised these dogs? They’ve grown so big, almost like small calves! How did you train them to be so obedient?"

Yan Fei laughed, "Not much training, just beat them quite often!"

While he was talking, he casually kicked Er Hei with his leg when the dog tried to sniff the guest. Seeing what happened, the rest of the dogs, familiar with the routine, quickly ran away from him.

Witnessing this, Uncle Chen felt sympathy for the dog that tumbled on the ground: "Such a good dog, it’s a pity not to train it!"

Yan Fei noticed that he liked dogs and politely said, "One of the two purebred dogs is a female. I guess she will give birth to a new litter in about two months. The father is also a purebred. If you want one, you can take it home before the Lunar New Year."

Uncle Chen laughed, "Haha, I will remember your words. I’ll take one even if it’s not purebred just based on its size. Don’t think I’ll be polite just because you are. I’ve had a longstanding relationship with your dad. We lived together for several years when we were students."

Turning back to Yanfei’s father, he continued, "Old Yan, remember what your son said. If I’m too busy to come before the Lunar New Year, you must remember to send me one."

Yan Fei didn’t mind, he didn’t care about these dogs. Having a few is enough on the cattle farm, more would just be a hassle.

While they were talking, Yan Fei opened the door to the room where the paper was stored. Uncle Chen saw the amount of paper and complained to Yanfei’s father, "Old Yan, you should have told me clearly! If I had known there was this much paper, I would have brought a bigger vehicle! The small truck is useless now, it won’t be able to carry all of this in one trip. Let’s take an inventory first and then send a larger truck for the next trip."

Yanfei’s father blamed Yan Fei, "This kid should have made it clearer! He said he had a room full of paper, but I didn’t realize he filled up the room like this!"

Yan Fei was more practical when it comes to work. He had piled the paper almost up to the ceiling after selling the last batch.

The small truck came in and stopped. Uncle Chen urged Yanfei’s father, "Hurry up and load! I have other jobs to do in the morning. When we get busy, we have no time, not even a break."

He then instructed the driver about what to load first and started right away.

Yan Fei and his father also helped. Uncle Chen, while observing, laughed and explained, "Old Yan knows about it. I hurt my hand a while ago and it hasn’t healed yet. I can’t put much strength into it, so it’ll be a bit harder for you guys."

He was telling the truth about the injury.

Yan Fei had seen it; it was Zhang Laowu who had cut him. The world was really small, this Uncle Chen was the same man who had his bag stolen by Zhang Laowu and later got his hand cut on Cattle Market Road when Yan Fei was taking his younger brother out shopping.

They hadn’t loaded much, when Yan Fei suggested to his father and the driver, "Why don’t you two go up on the truck and keep moving? I can do the loading alone."

Uncle Chen, who was observing, instantly understood and started laughing. Yan Fei was insinuating that the two were working too slowly and getting in his way due to the small door and the tall pile of goods.

Yanfei’s father glared at Yan Fei and then laughed while calling the driver, "Master, let’s go up the carriage. Let the young man do the loading himself!"

Once on top of the carriage, Yanfei’s father started talking, "Xiao Fei, do you remember the thief who hurt someone when you took your little brother out shopping? That person who got hurt was Uncle Chen. He’s always been so unlucky. Just as he transferred to our place, this happened! Later, that thief even got kicked to death, remember the police came to our home too..."

At this point, he suddenly paused and stared thoughtfully at the dogs standing by the vehicle.

Yan Fei didn’t take it to heart. Earlier, when Uncle Chen said he had met him before, he thought he meant when he was a child and Uncle Chen visited his home. Turns out he was referring to the time when he saw him in the crowd. His father must have told him. However, he definitely didn’t know that the one who ’avenged’ him was himself.

He didn’t think much about it since he was busy. Now that two less people were involved, his efficiency actually increased. It didn’t take long before the small truck was fully loaded. Uncle Chen was impressed by his strength and kept praising him, which made the driver feel a bit awkward.

After loading the goods, Uncle Chen said, "The weather is nice today, it doesn’t look like it’s going to rain. Let’s move all the things out and do inventory first! I won’t be here for the next trip, I have things to do."

While they were working, he explained, "The paper from this factory is actually quite good and cheap. But they didn’t have a good relationship with our county, so we had a rule not to buy their paper. Now, their factory is gone, so the paper isn’t theirs either, so it doesn’t matter."

After counting and recording everything, a good half of the day had passed.

Uncle Chen didn’t even enter the house nor drink a cup of tea before he hastily left.

Yanfei’s father didn’t leave, claiming that he had something small to attend to and would take a ride later.

After everyone left, Xu Xiaoyan came out of the room and said to Yanfei’s father, "I made some tea in the room, but they didn’t drink it! Uncle Hai, come in and have some water! It must be tiring after all this work."

Yanfei’s father smiled at the young girl and said, "It’s no big deal, this little work can’t tire me out. And Xiao Xing, why don’t you wait in the room for a moment, I have something to talk about with Xiao Fei."

Then, addressing Yan Fei, he continued, "You are free now, aren’t you? I have something to tell you, let’s go... let’s go to the river."

Having said that, he started walking away.

Yan Fei was puzzled, what could it be?

Thinking about it, he told the young girl to wait for him in the room and followed his father towards the river bank.

Arriving at the riverside, Yanfei’s father looked at the river water, deep in thought, then after a long silence, he finally said to Yan Fei, "Xiao Fei, do you have anything you want to tell me?"
