Carrying a Jurassic on me
Chapter 270 - 130_1

Chapter 270: 130_1

In the end, Student Ji Yunyun didn’t get to eat the wedding candies of Xu Xiaoyan and Yan Fei. But she did follow them out of the market to a local Liangfen (a kind of jelly noodle) shop and enjoyed a serving of Liangfen.

The authentic Liangfen from Tanghe County is definitely made from pure green beans.

Its tender green color looks like jade or crystal. It tastes like jelly and is slippery and tender. With a sprinkle of sesame sauce, its flavor is truly unparalleled!

While eating, the two girls made plans to travel together to the Provincial City when school starts. Since there were only a few services to the Provincial City, they agreed to catch the earliest one in the morning.

Student Ji Yunyun’s grades are not as good as Xu Xiaoyan’s. She was admitted to the Provincial Finance and Economics University, and she too had received her admission letter. Residing on the playful side, she suggested leaving a day early to get a good bed in the dormitory.

Unfortunately, Xu Xiaoyan wasn’t keen on the idea. She was quite content with her current lifestyle and would even prefer school not to start at all.

In the end, Ji Yunyun compromised and agreed to leave on the day school starts. There was a two-day enrollment period, so there was no rush.

After saying goodbye to Ji Yunyun, Yan Fei and Xu Xiaoyan returned home, and it was already quite late.

Xu Xiaoyan put down the gifts bought on the road and then ’bribed’ Yan Chao with a pack of Orchid beans. As expected, she warmly received and upon her arrival, Yanfei’s mom chided her, "Why bring things when you come over? Just sit down! I am just about to cook. Didn’t know if you were coming for dinner but got groceries just in case."

Aftewards, Yanfei’s mom even scolded Yan Fei, "You naughty boy, come home and don’t make a sound. We didn’t even know if you were home since you didn’t leave a note. If you had, dinner could’ve been ready when you arrived."

As she went into the kitchen to prepare dinner, Xu Xiaoyan also followed her to help out.

Yan Fei took this opportunity to tell Yanfei’s father about selling the paper.

This time even Yanfei’s father began to nag him, "Don’t you know how serious this is? Everyone on our side was alarmed by the python incident, but you still dared to go there? Are you risking your life?"

Yan Fei didn’t miss a beat in telling his tall tale, "Fortunately, the python was fast. Otherwise, we could’ve had python meat by now! Don’t you recognise how powerful your son has become."

He glanced around the room and finally set his sights on a pair of steel balls on the table.

He picked up the steel balls. Even though they were noisy when he shook them, he didn’t mind. With a firm grip, he instantly deformed the round steel balls.

Although the steel balls looked bright and shiny on the outside, they were actually made of iron and only coated with a layer of steel. Otherwise, they would have been crushed instead of deformed. Yan Fei was surprisingly puzzled, "Why are these things so thin?"

Yanfei’s father’s eyes behind his glasses widened, snatching the steel ball from his son’s hand, looking from left to right in disbelief.

After inspecting it for a while, he still found it hard to believe that this was the work of his teenage son. Unable to resist, he handed Yan Fei another steel ball, "Try this one again. Slowly, let me see clearly."

Yan Fei, seeing his father’s curious face, felt extremely helpless. But he had no choice but to perform the steel ball crushing demonstration for him again.

Holding two distorted steel balls, Yanfei’s father still couldn’t stop turning them over in his hand. Unfortunately, there was no third one for him to hand over to Yan Fei for another demonstration. It was only after confirming that they were deformed by Yan Fei that he marveled, "Are you really this strong now? Is it from practicing Kung Fu?"

"A bit of both! As I just mentioned to you, if the python wasn’t fast, I would have brought you a pot of python meat." Yan Fei said proudly.

Yanfei’s father held the steel balls and surprisingly stared at them until Yanfei’s mom came in carrying dishes.

"Hey, how did your pair of treasures become flat?" Yanfei’s mom asked curiously, putting down her plate and noticing the steel balls in Yanfei’s father’s hand.

Only then did Yanfei’s father snap back to reality. Realizing that he was the one who had given the second steel ball to Yan Fei to deform, he felt a wave of frustration, "It’s all your son’s doing!"

"Haha, serves you right! You could just go jogging in the morning if you wanted to get fit. What’s the deal with these exercise balls anyway? If you must, at least get solid ones! These balls clattered all day long. There’s no peace in such a small house. Isn’t it annoying?" Yanfei’s mom seemed to think Yan Fei had somehow damaged them, so she took the opportunity to gloat before going back into the house to fetch more food.

Yanfei’s father was distracted by Yanfei’s mom, suddenly realizing the implications. He took this opportunity to give Yan Fei another round of "safety education." He warned him not to put himself in danger just because he was strong. He shouldn’t get involved in fights casually and so on.

When it came to what Yan Fei considered the ’main issue’, Yanfei’s father simply said, "You just wait for the news in the next few days. I’ll ask my friend who works at the Education Bureau. This is a minor issue."

Yan Fei didn’t take this matter to heart. After all, he didn’t earn these things through hard work. He would sell them if he could, if not, it was no big deal.

After dinner, the two of them decided to go home. Xu Xiaoyan asked Yan Fei, "Do you want to buy a bicycle? Once the motorbike’s sold, it won’t be convenient for you to go out."

Because of this, Yan Fei bought a bicycle.

There weren’t many choices for bicycles in the county at that time. Either it was a men’s bicycle or a big bicycle with a rack. If you want something smaller and more convenient, you would have to choose a women’s bicycle.

There was also one that was neither here nor there, neither too big nor too small; it had a crossbeam in front and a protective cover for the chain. This one looked a bit more upscale with the chain cover, but in fact, it was a big minus.

Bicycles broke down most frequently when they got worn out over time. The most common problem was the chain falling off. For bicycles with chain covers, it was very difficult to fix the chain when it fell off. Although they attracted some people when they first came out, people eventually stopped buying these bicycles.

Yan Fei’s new bicycle was a women’s model. He had held on to the motorbike and didn’t ride it here, thinking that Xu Xiaoyan was going to stay at home for a few more days and that he might need the motorbike to give her a ride occasionally.

Now that he had a bicycle, he no longer needed the motorbike. As they were about to go home, they cleaned the motorbike again and rode it to the county town in the evening.

The bus service from Sancha River Town to the county city starts a bit earlier in the morning, but in the evening, typically the last bus is at five-thirty. If you miss that, you have to figure your own way out.

So, after they delivered the motorbike, as was the usual practice, they had to walk back.

On their way back, after they crossed the river and walked along the river beach, Yan Fei caught a wild rabbit. Watching him catch the rabbit made Xu Xiaoyan so happy that she couldn’t stop smiling all the way back home. She finally got to see with her own eyes how he caught a rabbit!

As a result of this experience, Xu Xiaoyan kept tossing and turning in bed that night, feeling that she had forgotten to do something.

Finally, after half an hour she remembered. She got out of bed, turned on the light, and went straight to the desk where Yan Fei usually practised calligraphy. She realized something was wrong as soon as she looked at the few pieces of paper. After quickly flipping through the paper, she was immediately enraged.

She wanted to go out and find Yan Fei right away, but luckily she soon realized that her appearance at this time wasn’t really appropriate to go outside. She went back to bed in annoyance and shouted into the adjoining room, "Yan Xiaofei, just you wait, you’ll see tomorrow!"
