Chapter 1567: Chapter 751: The Inconspicuous Effort_3

But the young man holding the dog was not happy: "Don’t think I didn’t hear what crap you’re saying about my dog. Are university students so bold now, even getting involved with where my dog shits?"

Hu Yidao and the students definitely tried to be positive, firstly because they didn’t want to start any trouble, and secondly because time was limited. After all, school had just started and everyone was still unfamiliar with the environment. They really didn’t want to start by having to go back to their dorms after the doors had closed—of course, anyone who’s been to university knows that once you’re familiar with the place, it’s a different story. You cozy up to the dorm supervisor or figure out other ways. Skipping curfew once or twice isn’t a big deal.

But the nicer Hu Yidao and the others were, the bolder those two young men became.

It’s sometimes hard to explain interactions between people. Clearly, one side had more people, but just because they didn’t want to cause trouble, they appeared ’weaker’ to the other side, and the harassment started.

Seeing that it was almost time, the students also started to get agitated, and someone shouted, "So what do you want us to do then?"

"You guys cursed at us just now, we’re not in a good mood, pay us for emotional damages!" The two young men declared their price. "We see that you’re all new students, so we won’t ask for much, just pay us three hundred yuan and we’re settled."

Three hundred yuan was not a small amount, especially for the students, where probably most of them had a monthly budget of no more than one hundred and fifty. When they heard these two young men demand three hundred yuan, they immediately disagreed.

Seeing that those two were even prepared to start shoving as they talked, Hu Yidao got anxious. Glancing at how close they were to the school entrance, and noting that the security guards were starting to look their way, Hu Yidao had a stroke of inspiration and shouted, "Run!"

He then proceeded, with one swift push each, to shove those two young men aside.

The two young men had always been on the upper hand, and didn’t expect Hu Yidao to suddenly explode. Pushed by him, the one holding the dog staggered back several steps and was actually tripped by his own dog leash, landing on his butt. The other one fared slightly better but couldn’t hold them back either.

Some of the other students were slow to react, but the ones who were quick on the uptake dragged the others and ran. Hu Yidao did not forget to remind everyone as they reached the school gate, "Keep your heads down as you run, don’t let the guards see your faces!"

The fact that this guy got admitted to college proved at least that he was diligent in his studies, but he certainly couldn’t be called honest in other aspects—his experience in doing wrong seemed quite rich.

The funniest part was that the big dog those two young men had looked majestic with its shiny golden fur, but from beginning to end it only wagged its tail chaotically and never attempted to bite anyone. Watching its owner being pushed down, it merely wagged its tail and licked its owner, clueless as to chase after the ’enemy’.

But something that wasn’t funny was that when Hu Yidao and his group ran inside, they had no idea if the security guards at the door had remembered their faces. The only certainty was that those two young men, watching them escape, shouted a warning, "We remember you now, don’t you ever leave the school, or sooner or later, you’ll regret it..."

Now, what worried Hu Yidao and his friends was whether the school would find out about this. They were all new to the university and unsure how the school would handle conflicts with outsiders. Another concern was that those two didn’t look like decent people, and might actually wait for them at the school gate in the future...

Yan Fei found this amusing upon hearing it: "Those two are at best small-time thugs. Chasing after you guys, a bunch of college students, over three hundred yuan doesn’t make them very high-class. What are you afraid of? Besides, you have already attended two classes; no school leaders have come to you, which means the school doesn’t know about this at all. As long as you keep your stories straight and keep it secret from the teachers, won’t everything be fine?"

Hu Yidao did not think so: "It doesn’t matter if they’re big thugs or small thugs; we still have to attend school! What if they really corner us at the school gate and start trouble, won’t the school find out then?"

"Don’t worry, it’ll definitely be fine," Yan Fei said with a smile. "Here’s what we’re going to do; I’ll come up with a solution, but you have to promise me to keep it a secret afterwards."

"What’s the solution?" Hu Yidao’s spirits got lifted instantly. "I swear to secrecy; if I don’t, you can call me Bitch Hu from then on."

"Remember the faces of those two guys? After class, the two of us will go out and take a look. If those two really are at the gate, I’ll help you solve this problem. How about that?" Yan Fei waited until Hu Yidao had sworn an oath before revealing his plan with a grin.

"Is that really a solution?" Hu Yidao was skeptical. "How do you plan to solve it?"

"You two in the back corner," Hu Yidao had just finished speaking when the teacher on the podium also spoke up. "I understand everyone wants to bond since it’s the start of the school year, but you two have been talking for half the class. Can you save the rest of your conversation for after the class ends?"

All eyes in the class swiftly turned towards the two who were discussing their strategy, causing Hu Yidao’s normally not-so-pale face to turn a bit red. Yan Fei, on the other hand, was more composed—it had been a long time since he, as Boss Yan, got called out by a teacher in class. This feeling was quite novel!

Since it was the start of the school year, the teacher was more lenient and smiled, "Okay, let’s all continue to listen attentively. It’s the first class, so I won’t ask your names this time. But if it happens again, you’ll go on my blacklist. I’m not afraid to tell you, if you get on my blacklist, your passing grade won’t be the same as others. While others need sixty points, you’ll need ninety, and anything below ninety is considered failing."

This trick... was too harsh!

Although they were freshmen, most of the students had already heard that university professors certainly had this power. Failing and needing to retake exams was embarrassing enough, but repeated failures could risk even their graduation certificate!

So, upon hearing this, the students immediately sat up straight, including Hu Yidao and Yan Fei who quickly adjusted their posture, showing an attitude that they would definitely listen attentively.
