After persuading Lin Haihu to leave, he immediately closed the room door, picked up the instant noodles, opened them, and looked carefully for a long while, a look of relief appearing on his face.

"No way!" Lin Haihu raised his voice and said, "I told him I secretly obtained the secret recipe and planned to raise cattle on my own. I begged him to help me and have him study it for me. How would he think of giving me benefits!"

"Really nothing?" Yan Fei asked again.

"Nothing!" Lin Haihu was certain. "But... he did give me a deposit, saying it’s to prevent me from distrusting him and worrying that he might run off. That’s something he gave me on his own; you don’t want to share some of it, do you?"

"Alright, alright, if he gave it to you, just hold onto it. He might not come back once he’s gone, and the money will be yours," Yan Fei said, simply wanting to tease him to see if he would tell the truth.

It seems that although this guy is quite the scoundrel, he is still quite credible, taking money and getting the job done. And his acting is not bad... Although for his performance, Yan Fei felt it was more his true nature.

After sending the guy off, Yan Fei continued to become Xiaohei, standing as an observer on top of the school’s tallest building, the roof ridge of that ancient tower.

The ridge of this ancient tower is not bare like the ridge of ordinary people’s tiled houses, rather it’s decorated with various sculptures. In the middle is a miniature pavilion, flanked by symmetrical statues of various postures, all glazed with various colors—it looked pretty good. Yan Fei could even study these sculptures when he was bored.

During the morning break, Teacher Xiao casually packed some things and left the campus with a small bag.

Next was a somewhat lengthy journey. Teacher Xiao changed vehicles twice and then boarded a long-distance bus heading towards Jiang City. Because of the two changes, it allowed Yan Fei to be completely sure that he had not misjudged this person.

It was at the western crossroads of Sancha County that he switched to a vehicle that would pass through Tanghe County, from the Provincial City to another county. Then, not far past Tanghe County, he changed again to a bus heading for Jiang City.

Even so, he didn’t take this bus directly to Jiang City, but instead changed buses twice along the way.

The most amazing part was that halfway through the trip, he entered a small roadside restroom and came out with changed clothes, no glasses, and even his hairstyle was different. He turned from a refined teacher into a slightly shady-looking gangster, and even his facial appearance seemed to have slightly altered.

Although the change in appearance was not drastic, combined with his current appearance and actions, it was not easy for people to recognize him as the young teacher from before.

With all this effort, to say he wasn’t up to something would be hard for anyone to believe!

Before even reaching Jiang City, Gangster Xiao got off the bus and switched to another that headed for a different city. Just when Yan Fei thought he would keep switching vehicles, he finally arrived at his destination.

Upon disembarking, he hailed a black moto-taxi using the local dialect, which was not quite standard, and after taking several twists and turns, arrived at a small alley. Getting off the moto-taxi, he walked some distance and reached an old residential area.

Once he entered a home and saw that there was nobody inside, he used the phone there to make a call, speaking cryptically for a few moments before he started to wait.

After about half an hour, a middle-aged man wearing old-fashioned glasses entered the room. The two exchanged a few words, and then suddenly there was a change in their accents... Yan Fei immediately felt that this trip could exceed his expectations.

After simply listening in for a few moments, Yan Fei started to feel amused. While they were still discussing, he found a nearby home with no one in and flew in, then took out his mobile phone and made a call: "Director Pi, what are you busy with? I’ve got some merit here, and I’m thinking about making it count!"

On the other end, Chief Pi was taken aback, then alert, "What’s going on, tell me."

"I’ve discovered two Japanese spies, haha, one guy even pretended to be a teacher at our place for two or three months, then took the secret recipe from my farm and now has come to Shifeng City to meet someone. After Yan Fei gave a rough description of his surroundings, Chief Pi hung up the phone. In a short while, he called again: "Alright, now we’ve determined your rough location, and people are on their way. While you wait, explain the situation in detail, so we can decide whether to let them bait a bigger catch or to capture them on the spot."
