Chapter 85: Chapter 97: A Bottle of Safflower Oil (6)
She couldn’t quite tell how many times she had felt that intense heat, and then she felt a cooling sensation on her foot, like the scent of Red Flower Oil. She sniffed and felt fingers massaging her injured area. At first, it was a bit painful but soon the pain dissipated. The person’s fingers applied just the right pressure, gentle and orderly, which relieved much of her discomfort.
Her foot was massaged for quite a while before the fingers gently left and the quilt was tucked back onto her foot.
Isabel Smith subconsciously felt like this was all a dream.
Perhaps she had been taking care of herself for too long, so now she was having such a beautiful dream.
This dream seemed too good to be true. Isabel curled up in the quilt, her lips curving into a smile, as if filled with contentment, and finally fell into a deep sleep.
Percy Stanton went to the bathroom, washed his hands, and when he came out, he saw the bright light in the bedroom hadn’t been turned off. The young lady on the bed had buried her head in the quilt, so he paused, walked aside, picked up the remote control, and turned off the light.
The room was completely plunged into darkness. Percy frowned and then turned on the sleep lamp. Satisfied, he put down the remote control, walked over to the bed, and gently pulled the quilt down from her head to cover her collarbone.
The sleeping woman had a gentle curve at the corner of her lips, as if she was having a very sweet dream, her expression sweet and content.
Her expression was exactly like how Isabel used to be.
Percy was a bit stunned by the sight, and his heart suddenly began racing, thumping as if it caught feelings again.
Six years apart, she had changed subtly, her features appearing more delicate and refined.
The now sleeping Isabel, free from her daytime elegance, had no makeup on her small face, her skin fair and delicate, her features beautiful, her lips curved in a soft smile, her closed eyelids hiding her cold, arrogant gaze, making her look like an untamed, demure girl, adorable and captivating.
Percy stared, completely enchanted for a long time before he couldn’t help but raise his hand, gently stroking Isabel’s brow, eyes, nose, and finally her tender, red lips.
No longer lost in an endless wait, he would spend sleepless nights standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the lights of Bellshire City, thinking of her satisfied smile when he agreed to attend her adulthood ceremony.
Each time, he would reach out to touch, but all he ever met was the icy cold glass, chilling his heart.
Everyone’s happiness is different, but he knew his happiness was with Isabel.
So he waited resolutely, and finally, the waiting was over.
Percy’s gaze was warm and gentle, even carrying a trace of excitement.
After six years, a full six years, he finally touched her contented and satisfied flower-like smile again.
It was companionship...
In the prime of their lives, to have met again was pure luck. This time, he would stay by her side, never to leave.
Companionship was the most enduring confession of love.
Accompanying her while waiting for her to remember him...
...
Isabel woke up early the next day. She hadn’t slept for long and was clearly still tired. However, she had a nightmare. In her dream, she saw her parents lying in front of her, covered in fresh blood. Desperate, she saw a baby appeared at her feet. She bent down to pick it up, only to find the baby was dead...
