Chapter 127: Chapter 139: Dad, You Liar (8)
Percy Stanton looked up and down at his son, who was standing on the porcelain shelf and barely taller than him, and said mockingly: "Raymond, when I lied to Sister Isabel, you didn’t say anything either, did you? That means you lied to her too, and you don’t respect her either."
"That’s because you lied to Sister Isabel, that’s why I didn’t expose you." Raymond was getting a little annoyed by Percy’s logic, huffing and puffing, staring at Percy and talking with his little lips opening and closing: "I was afraid you would drag me down, and if Sister Isabel found out you lied to her, what if she got angry and ignored me too."
Percy almost knelt down in front of his son’s reasoning, but he still looked seriously into Raymond’s eyes and said, "Raymond, you can’t tell Sister Isabel our true identities."
"Why?" Raymond asked quickly, his tone still somewhat angry.
"Because once Sister Isabel finds out our real identities, she will never speak to us again." Percy couldn’t explain the complicated reasons to Raymond, so he could only briefly state the result.
Upon hearing that Sister Isabel would ignore him if she found out his identity, Raymond immediately became nervous. However, he was still very clever. In the next second, he opened his mouth and asked Percy, "Father, how do you know that?"
Percy looked into Raymond’s eyes and said, "Because I am your father."
Raymond frowned, somewhat doubtful of this explanation.
"Raymond, when I told you that the world wouldn’t end, didn’t that day come and go without the end of the world happening?" Percy asked, changing the subject.
Raymond nodded and said, "Yes."
"And when I told you that Lazy Lamb in Happy Sheep and Grey Wolf wouldn’t die after being captured by the wolf, didn’t he end up not dying?"
"Yes."
"I told you that Lazy Lamb would be saved by Happy Sheep, and didn’t Happy Sheep save him in the end?"
"Yes."
"So when have I ever lied to you? If you don’t believe me, you can go tell Sister Isabel now and see if she will still talk to you after knowing that you are the future heir of the Thompson Empire Group?"
Little Raymond was, just like that, stifled by his father’s few words. He stood there, his face conflicted for a long time, before glancing at Percy and asking, "But why won’t Sister Isabel talk to us if she knows we’re part of the Thompson Empire Group?"
Percy had felt slightly depressed by Isabel Smith’s reaction when they had talked about the Thompson Empire Group, and now he was annoyed by his son’s uncertain question. He snapped, "How would I know!"
After saying that, Percy turned and headed towards the study room.
Raymond quickly climbed down from the pottery shelf and followed behind Percy, saying, "Father, I won’t tell Sister Isabel our true identities, but I have a condition to discuss with you!"
Percy ignored his son’s threat and continued to stride away.
"Father, if you take another step, I’ll go find Sister Isabel now and tell her the truth!"
For the first time in his life, Percy was threatened by his own son... and it was because of Isabel Smith...
He stopped in his tracks, stood with his back to Raymond for a while, then turned around, his face cold, and asked, "What is it?"
"Father, give me three hundred dollars." Raymond stretched out his hand to Percy.
"For what?"
It was now Raymond’s turn to be impatient with Percy’s questions. He urged, "Are you giving it to me or not? If you don’t, I’ll go find Sister Isabel now!"
