Chapter 586: Chapter 0588: The Mastermind Behind the Scenes [Part 1]

The Woodcutter did not offer any rebuttal to Chu Feng’s words.

Removing the chopping axe from his back, the Woodcutter said, "Since you’re an Earth Level Expert, killing you won’t weigh on my conscience."

"Shameless, do you even care about your own face? You actually use a weapon, while I’m unarmed. Do you think that’s fair?" Chu Feng said angrily.

The Woodcutter replied, "You can also choose a weapon."

Chu Feng retorted furiously, "There’s nothing here but wood, how am I supposed to choose a weapon? You dishonorable old man, I’ve decided, I’m going down the mountain. Once I find a suitable weapon, I’ll come back to fight you."

"Whoosh!"

The Woodcutter swung his axe, blocking Chu Feng’s path.

"What are you doing? I’m going down the mountain to find a weapon; can’t I come back and fight you then?" Chu Feng asked.

"No," the Woodcutter replied without a second thought.

"You are really unreasonable. It’s bad enough you’re bullying by superiority, now you’re picking on me when I’m unarmed..."

The Woodcutter seemed to have heard enough of Chu Feng’s endless complaints. Raising his axe, he prepared to cleave Chu Feng in two.

Chu Feng had been monitoring the Woodcutter’s movements and at the instant the Woodcutter began to move, Chu Feng shifted sideways using the movement technique of the Carefree Sect to dodge the Woodcutter’s lethal strike.

"Zzzt!"

Though Chu Feng’s speed and movement technique were quick enough, the Woodcutter’s saber aura still managed to slice through the front of Chu Feng’s clothes.

Seeing his torn clothes, Chu Feng also felt a shiver in his heart.

This Woodcutter was truly extraordinary; his saber skill was simple, yet within that simplicity lay the most ferocious intent to kill.

"Swoosh!"

The Woodcutter did not grant Chu Feng another moment to speak, as he began to whirl his chopping axe.

The axe buzzed fiercely, filling the small forest with a miasma of saber aura. Twigs and falling leaves were shredded by the saber aura before they could even touch the ground.

This was indeed astonishing. Had an outsider witnessed it, they would have thought a movie was being filmed.

But for an Earth Level Expert, this was nothing extraordinary.

Under the Woodcutter’s relentless assault, Chu Feng could only incessantly dodge using his movement technique.

The Woodcutter’s techniques were as Chu Feng had anticipated, very straightforward. They consisted solely of fundamental saber skills without any fancy moves.

But even these basic saber techniques, if performed flawlessly, could be terrifying.

Lacking in frivolity reduced the chance of making mistakes, leaving Chu Feng with no opportunity to counterattack.

"Master really has the knack for finding trouble; when I get back, I must ask him properly. Check who else Master has offended so that I can steer clear of them in the future," Chu Feng thought grimly to himself.

The Woodcutter steadily forced Chu Feng back until he was cornered by three trees, completely trapped within their enclosure.

"You’ve nowhere left to retreat, no matter how exquisite your movement technique may be, it’s futile in the end," the Woodcutter said before his saber techniques became even more aggressive, thrusting straight towards Chu Feng’s chest.

"Bring it on!"

Chu Feng had been waiting for just such an opportunity. The Woodcutter’s saber techniques had been perfectly impenetrable, leaving no chance for a counterattack.

But now, as the Woodcutter shifted from pressuring to killing, a transitional move would occur.

And once the transition began, a gap would inevitably open up. Even if fleeting, it was certain to appear.

Chu Feng had been waiting and baiting for this gap to reveal itself.

"Sunshine on Road!"

Seizing the opportunity, Chu Feng made his decisive move. It was the fastest attack within the Tianshan Six Yang Palm, also boasting the highest speed.

The time to change techniques was too short, only this move could subdue the enemy.

Chu Feng unleashed the attack with speed peaking at an ultimate precision.

The woodcutter only felt a streak of white light flashing before him, and by the time he thought to counter with his saber, his shoulder had already taken a heavy blow.

"Crack!"

That was the sound of the shoulder blade breaking. Chu Feng’s strike had directly smashed his shoulder bone.

"Whoosh!"

The woodcutter was also sent flying by this blow.

"Bang!"

The woodcutter’s body hit the ground and heavily thudded onto the surface.

"Puh!"

Just as the woodcutter was trying to rise, a mouthful of fresh blood spurted out.

"How did you do that?" the woodcutter asked as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

Chu Feng said, "Senior, you pushed repeatedly, exhausting your moves in three strikes. You should understand such a principle. Your continuous pressure made me retreat three times. After three times, the sharpness of your saber had waned significantly. And when you tried to kill me but changed your technique hastily, naturally, an opening would occur. With the sharpness gone and an opening presented, I just needed to seize the opportunity once to succeed."

Hearing Chu Feng’s words, the woodcutter laughed heartily to the sky and said, "Good! Very good! Zhang Shisan has found himself an excellent disciple. I’ve lost again. Take your people and go."

"Thank you, senior!" Chu Feng bowed with clasped hands and then directly picked up the National Security Agent and headed down the mountain.

"Why didn’t you kill him?" the National Security Agent asked.

Chu Feng said, "I think you’ve been a special agent for too long if you have to ask. If he truly wanted to kill you, even if I tried to stop him, you would be dead by now. Because while he was pushing me back, there were at least twenty chances he could have easily taken to end your life. But he did not do so. Hence, not only can I not kill him, but I also owe him thanks."

Hearing what Chu Feng said, realizing he had nearly died twenty times, the National Security Agent couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat.

Chu Feng, moving swiftly, descended the mountain with him, also encountering Huang Lan prepared to ascend.

"I just saw a woodcutter entering the mountain. I was worried they might have harmed you. You didn’t encounter him, did you?" Huang Lan asked.

Chu Feng said, "I did. He bears some grudge against my Master. However, I defeated him and am taking him to a safe place. I have some questions to ask him."

"Good!"

Huang Lan drove them to a place that was both very concealed and very safe.

"This place is absolutely secure; you can talk now," Huang Lan said.

The National Security Agent said, "I will speak only once I see my family safe."

"Bang!"

Chu Feng grabbed him straight off the chair, clasped his neck, and lifted him high enough to make his breathing difficult, his entire face turning somewhat purple.

"My family is still in danger right now. I don’t have time for your nonsense. Either cooperate, or I have a hundred ways to make you tell the truth," Chu Feng’s words were cold, devoid of any emotion.

"I... I will speak!" the National Security Agent felt Chu Feng’s chilling intent to kill and completely surrendered.

"Bang!" Chu Feng threw him back into the chair and said, "It didn’t have to come to violence."
