Chapter 56: Chapter 0056: Super Combination

An Rongrong ultimately left, but Chu Feng remembered the promise he had made to her.

An Rongrong’s departure did not bring Chu Feng down; on the contrary, it motivated him even more.

This was not only for An Rongrong but also for himself, for Qin Mei, and for everyone around him.

The day after An Rongrong left, Chu Feng visited Cui Jingyan’s new office location.

This was the office building rented by Cui Jingyan, serving as the office for Fengjing Entertainment Company. However, Chu Feng’s visit today was in vain as Cui Jingyan was not in the office.

Just as Chu Feng was about to leave, his phone rang.

It was Cui Jingyan calling. Hearing that Chu Feng was at the office, she immediately told him to go downstairs and take a cab to her home.

Chu Feng had been to Cui Jingyan’s home before, so he was quite familiar with the route.

Soon, he arrived at Cui Jingyan’s home, and after ringing the doorbell, Cui Jingyan, dressed in casual silk pajamas, came to open the door for Chu Feng.

"You hands-off manager, what made you think of going to the office today?" Cui Jingyan said casually.

Cui Jingyan rolled her eyes at Chu Feng and said, "Come in, I’ll introduce you to two people."

Chu Feng followed Cui Jingyan into the house and entered the living room.

In the living room, Chu Feng saw the backs of two girls.

One was sitting on the floor playing video games, while the other was reading a book with her head bowed.

Just from their silhouettes, it was evident that both were exceptionally beautiful.

"Xiaoxiao, stop playing. Your real boss is here," Cui Jingyan said to Fan Xiaoxiao, who was engrossed in her video game.

Upon hearing Cui Jingyan’s voice, Fan Xiaoxiao threw the controller aside and jumped up, saying, "Where’s our boss then?"

Is this really Xiaoxiao? It surely looks like Dada!

Especially since Fan Xiaoxiao not only looked mature but also had a baby face.

"The Chinese version of Teacher Cang!" Chu Feng couldn’t help but think.

The girl reading the book put down her book, stood up, and looked toward Cui Jingyan.

This girl, too, had a perfect figure, especially with an aura of calm and transcendence about her, making her seem as pure as a lotus and as cold as an iceberg.

Cui Jingyan smiled and said, "Alright! Let me formally introduce you. This is your real boss, Chu Feng."

"So you’re the boss, huh? So young, I thought it would be another creepy older guy. Considering how handsome you are, I guess being forced into a casting couch scenario with you wouldn’t be too bad," Fan Xiaoxiao examined Chu Feng for a while before letting out a comment that nearly made Chu Feng choke.

"Actually, a sister duo like ours is quite rare. Why don’t you cast-couch us?" Fan Xiaoxiao said seriously, wagging her finger.

"Xiaoxiao, don’t be ridiculous!" the book-reading girl, Liu Mei, said with a heart-wrenching frown, softly scolding.

Fan Xiaoxiao stuck out her tongue, saying, "Ooh! Okay, wasn’t I just trying to curry favor with our new boss so he might pay us more?"

Chu Feng was completely stunned by Fan Xiaoxiao’s words, having no idea how to respond.

Chu Feng now realized that Fan Xiaoxiao was the Little Witch version of Teacher Cang.

Seeing Chu Feng’s embarrassed expression, Cui Jingyan laughed and said, "Alright Xiaoxiao, don’t tease your young boss anymore. You know, he’s still a virgin!"

When Fan Xiaoxiao heard Cui Jingyan’s words, her eyes lit up, saying, "Really! Boss, you’re still a virgin? I hear that virgins are extremely rare these days; did we just hit the jackpot?"

Chu Feng’s face turned crimson, and he began to regret coming here.

Hearing Fan Xiaoxiao’s words, Liu Mei just slightly furrowed her brows, while Cui Jingyan was laughing so hard she had to hold herself up.

"Chu Feng, this quirky little witch here is Fan Xiaoxiao. This tranquil girl, as pure as a lotus, is Fang Ting. These two are the friends I mentioned, and they’re currently the hot sister duo of the I.L. group," Cui Jingyan introduced to Chu Feng.

After listening to Cui Jingyan’s introduction, Fan Xiaoxiao immediately retorted, "Sister Yan, I’m cute, not a ’Little Witch’, okay?"

Fan Xiaoxiao paused briefly, then expressed her frustration, "When we originally picked the name, it was supposed to mean ICE and LOVEY. How did it end up becoming ILOVE? It’s really frustrating. Sister Tingting is clearly the Ice Queen, but everyone else is obviously cute, right?"

Chu Feng understood the meaning of the group’s name after hearing Fan Xiaoxiao’s mutterings to herself.

"Chu Feng, you must have heard their name before. With them leading our company’s first major event, it shouldn’t be bad," Cui Jingyan asked.

Although Chu Feng had never seen their performance, he had indeed heard of I.L.’s name, not to mention that his classmates discussed it daily; Chu Feng was well aware of it.

Cui Jingyan continued, "Since you’re here, Chu Feng, let’s discuss how we can make our Fengjing Entertainment Company’s inaugural event as impactful as possible."

The four of them took their seats separately, and Chu Feng said, "Sister Yan, I don’t understand these matters; just handle it however you think best."

Cui Jingyan glanced at Chu Feng and said, "I knew you’d say that. We’ve already discussed it. I.L. was originally scheduled to have a concert in October, but because of their change of agency, their former company canceled the already scheduled concert. But this might be for the best, as we can capitalize on their already planned promotions and organize our own concert. Moreover, we’ve decided to have it in East River."

Chu Feng nodded and said, "That’s possible. Leveraging their previous promotions could indeed save us a significant amount of publicity expenses."

Cui Jingyan looked at Chu Feng in surprise and said, "You’re already concerned about costs? I thought you were just going to be a hands-off manager."

Lately, Chu Feng had indeed been reading a lot about management, after all, he had promised An Rongrong’s father to make an effort.

Chu Feng smiled sheepishly and continued, "Just follow your plan, Sister Yan. Now, let’s talk about the difficulties we are facing."

If there were no difficulties, Cui Jingyan would never have suggested a discussion.

Cui Jingyan said, "The biggest difficulty now is financial."

Chu Feng frowned and asked, "Are we out of money?"

Cui Jingyan nodded and said, "Starting a company has been much more difficult than I imagined. Aside from the initial office expenses, most of the money has been spent on smoothing things over. Currently, the company has around five million in cash, which is only enough to keep us running for three months."

"And if we want to make a big impact with this headline event, we need to present the highest quality concert. Although we have ticket revenue to rely on, the initial investment needs to come from us. After all, as a newly established company, there aren’t many who are willing to collaborate with us."

Chu Feng asked, "How much of a funding gap do we have in total now?"

Cui Jingyan said, "For the ticket sales, we could partner with other companies, which would save us the costs of ticketing. We would just have to share the revenue with them. The main costs are the initial venue, stage setup, lights, and other aesthetics... Those added up would be about seven million."

Cui Jingyan, seeing Chu Feng frown, explained, "Since it’s our first concert, all the setup and equipment need to be bought new. However, this is a one-time investment; they can be reused later, which would amortize the cost."

Chu Feng, realizing Cui Jingyan had misunderstood him, spoke up, "Sister Yan, you misunderstood me; I was actually thinking. Should we establish our own ticketing and marketing system all at once? Ticketing is a critical element; if we start delegation now, we might become too dependent on others in the future."

Cui Jingyan said, "I’ve thought about that too, but if we add that, then the costs would double. Because it’s not just ticketing; it includes advertising and media outreach, which need to be systematically established."

Upon hearing Cui Jingyan’s words, Chu Feng immediately made a decision, "Then let’s set up everything at once, and I’ll handle the financial issues."

"Boss, you are really decisive. How about we also settle our labor fees while we’re at it?" Fan Xiaoxiao jokingly said.

Fang Ting gave Fan Xiaoxiao a glare and said, "Xiaoxiao."

Chu Feng knew that Fan Xiaoxiao and Fang Ting were there to help for the first year and wouldn’t ask for money.

Yet, Chu Feng didn’t want to take advantage of the two girls and said, "I’ll settle your compensation as well."

Fang Ting said, "We promised Sister Yan that our compensation would start from the second year."

After Fang Ting spoke, she didn’t say anything more, and Fan Xiaoxiao didn’t bring it up again either.

Chu Feng, unsure what to say to Fang Ting, eventually turned to Sister Yan and asked, "Sister Yan, after adding everything up, how much are we still short?"

Cui Jingyan said, "I just calculated, and we’re about 20 million short in total. The company still has five million, so we’re short by 15 million."

Chu Feng pulled out his Master’s black card and said, "There’s money in this card, Sister Yan, use it for now. Also, can you contact Fatty Tang for me to see if he has any updates."

Cui Jingyan hesitated, then said, "Actually, Fatty Tang contacted me a few days ago. He mentioned there’s going to be a gemstone event at Yunshuang, and he hopes you could join him. But it’s a dangerous area at the border. I told him you were busy with college exams and turned him down."

Chu Feng, moved by Cui Jingyan’s words but determined for Rongrong’s sake and his commitment to Cui Jingyan, still said, "Sister Yan, please get in touch with Fatty Tang and tell him that I’m free now; he can come to see me anytime."
