Chapter 54: Chapter 0054 Farewell [Part 1]

When Chu Feng heard Zhang Shisan say that An Rongrong was leaving, he also lost color and said, "What! An Rongrong is leaving! Where to?"

Zhang Shisan sighed and said, "She is probably going to the USA."

Chu Feng’s eyes widened as he asked, "Why?"

Zhang Shisan said, "The matters of the An Family are somewhat complicated, and I shouldn’t say too much to you. If you want to know, it’s best you ask Rongrong in person."

Chu Feng said, "Master, take me to see Rongrong now!"

Zhang Shisan said, "Let’s wait a few days, as there has been too much happening at the An Family concerning Rongrong’s departure. I think Rongrong will contact you in a few days."

Chu Feng’s gaze flickered, and eventually, he said, "Master, if I want to keep Rongrong here, will you stand by my side?"

Zhang Shisan nodded without hesitation and said, "The Master will definitely stand by your side, but I’ll reiterate, my support is not enough; you have to consider other people around you as well."

"Power! Power! It’s all about power!"

"If I already possessed the power to trample over everything, then there would be no need for any concerns," Chu Feng thought fiercely, clenching his fists.

"Xiao Feng, don’t overthink it; Rongrong has only you in her heart. She begs me every day to bring her to see you. It’s just that the Master cannot do that," Zhang Shisan said.

Chu Feng nodded and said, "Master, I understand. I know what to do."

Zhang Shisan nodded and said, "That’s good to know. Rest assured, as long as the Master is here, no one can force Rongrong to do anything."

Chu Feng said, "Thank you, Master."

Two days passed, and Chu Feng finally received a call from An Rongrong.

"Rongrong, where are you?" Upon receiving An Rongrong’s call, Chu Feng immediately asked anxiously.

An Rongrong said, "I’m at the restaurant where we last ate. Can you come and find me?"

"Yes!"

Without a second thought, Chu Feng agreed and rushed to the restaurant.

When Chu Feng arrived at the restaurant, he saw An Rongrong sitting in their last spot, waiting for him.

An Rongrong had visibly lost a lot of weight, which made Chu Feng feel even more heartache.

"Rongrong!" Chu Feng sat opposite An Rongrong and called out gently.

An Rongrong, who had been deep in thought, suddenly looked up when she heard Chu Feng calling her.

Seeing Rongrong’s obviously thinner cheeks, Chu Feng felt even more heartache.

"Rongrong, if you don’t want to go, then stay. I can support you," Chu Feng said tenderly.

Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, An Rongrong’s nose turned sore, and her eyes began to redden slightly.

Chu Feng, seeing An Rongrong about to cry, playfully flicked her nose and said, "Such a big girl, and you’re still crying. Aren’t you afraid of ruining your makeup? If you show your bare face, I might change my mind."

An Rongrong, hearing Chu Feng teasing her, snorted cutely and retorted, "Annoying! I never wear makeup; this is how I look naturally."

Chu Feng laughed and said, "So you are suggesting in your own way that you are a natural beauty."

An Rongrong said, "I am naturally beautiful."

Chu Feng’s words eased the atmosphere quite a bit.

"Rongrong, what have you decided? Are you going to stay or leave?" Chu Feng took a deep breath and finally asked.

Upon hearing this question, An Rongrong lowered her head again, incessantly fiddling with the teacup in her hands.

Seeing her expression, Chu Feng’s heart couldn’t help but sink and he said, "Rongrong, is someone forcing you to make this decision?"

An Rongrong quickly shook her head and said, "No one is forcing me to make any decisions. With Grandpa Zhang and Grandpa here, no one can force me to do anything. This decision is my own."

"Why?"

An Rongrong hesitated, then said, "Back then, because of grandma’s issues, my father left the family in a huff. He went to the USA alone and has since lost contact with the family. Over the years, I know that grandpa has been waiting for my dad to return home. This time, dad has come back and wants to take me to the USA."

Grandpa was firmly against it and had another big argument with Dad because of it. I didn’t want to see Grandpa suffer or struggle, so I agreed to go with Dad to the USA for a year, hoping it could ease the conflict between Dad and Grandpa. I didn’t want to leave; I couldn’t bear to part with Grandpa, my brother and you... But I also didn’t want to see our family suffer because of me..."

At this point, An Rongrong couldn’t continue, her tears falling drop by drop, which was heart-wrenching to see.

In the end, Chu Feng chose to compromise. Although he really didn’t want An Rongrong to leave, he also didn’t want to see her upset.

Chu Feng reached out gently and wiped away An Rongrong’s tears, saying, "What are you crying for, girl? It’s just a year, right? If you don’t come back after a year, I’ll go to the USA and drag you back."

Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, An Rongrong suddenly looked up with teary eyes and asked, "Do you really agree with me going?"

Chu Feng’s expression darkened as he said, "You don’t want to see your Grandpa sad, and likewise, I don’t want to see you sad. Besides, it’s only a year, not forever."

An Rongrong nodded vigorously, saying, "I promise it will just be for one year, regardless of whether Grandpa and Dad can reconcile after a year, I will come back."

Chu Feng smiled slightly and said, "I’m just afraid when the time comes, you’ll be charmed by some handsome guy in the USA and won’t want to come back."

An Rongrong’s cheeks turned red as she said, "Stop it, you."

Suddenly, An Rongrong thought of something and said, "During this year I’m away, you also can’t find another woman. If I find out, you’re in for it. You have to call me every day to check in and video call me once a week so I can check on you."

Chu Feng smiled slightly and asked, "Do I need to check everything?"

An Rongrong seriously said, "Of course!"

Chu Feng said, "Alright, let’s order some food. You mustn’t have been eating well these past few days, you’ve gotten thinner."

An Rongrong obediently nodded.

After eating, An Rongrong also suggested going to watch a movie.

However, unluckily, by the time they got to the cinema, all the tickets had already been sold out.

"Looks like we have to come earlier tomorrow," Chu Feng said helplessly.

"It’s alright. When I came, I saw another cinema downstairs; maybe they have tickets," An Rongrong said as she pulled Chu Feng down to another cinema in the basement called ’Sweetness’ Couples’ Cinema.

Looking at the name, Chu Feng asked, "Are you sure you want to watch here?"

An Rongrong, seeing the name and blushing slightly, still nodded and said, "I’m sure."

"Young man, you two must be newly in love. Buy this private couple’s package; it guarantees no disturbances and no one will see you," said the ticket seller as Chu Feng and An Rongrong approached to buy tickets.

Chu Feng glanced at the price and nodded, saying, "Let’s take this one."

"Alright!" After saying this, the ticket seller whispered to Chu Feng, "You came on the right day, young man. There’s a great movie showing today."

"Great movie? Isn’t it the same as the ones upstairs?" An Rongrong asked, puzzled.

The ticket seller gave an awkward smile and said, "The same! All the same! But ours is better; you’ll see once you watch."

Though An Rongrong found it strange, since they had already bought the tickets, they couldn’t just not watch.

The two entered the cinema and found their seats. The so-called private couple’s package was actually a semi-enclosed private box. There were no seats in front, behind, or to the sides, and from every direction, the inside was not visible, making it indeed very private.

Chu Feng and An Rongrong had just sat down when the movie began.

Seeing what appeared on the screen right from the start, Chu Feng immediately realized what the ticket seller meant by a great movie.

An Rongrong saw the scene and quickly turned her head away, her cheeks blushing.

Chu Feng glanced at An Rongrong and gave a mischievous smile. He really hadn’t expected that the so-called great movie would be this kind of film, and his thoughts suddenly became more lively.

"Chu Feng, shall we go?" An Rongrong whispered.

Chu Feng held An Rongrong’s hand and said, "We’ve already paid, so we might as well watch a bit more; otherwise, it’d be a waste."

"Mmm."

An Rongrong agreed with a hum through her nose, then continued to lower her head, daring not to look.

Chu Feng, watching An Rongrong sneak peeks, kept smiling mischievously.
