Chapter 123: Chapter 0123 Kidnapping [Part 2]
Pei Wending’s subordinates included several special police officers, while Wang Teng had quite a few skilled fighters under his command.
However, they had truly never seen, nor even heard of, someone climbing ten stories with bare hands, especially when it was a ten-story building with a glass facade.
"Chief Wang, who exactly is this leader? This is simply superhuman!" Pei Wending couldn’t help but exclaim.
Wang Teng was extremely shocked at the moment, but still said, "You can ask Secretary He about this question. He is actually Secretary He’s uncle."
He Jianguo gave a wry smile and said, "I don’t understand my uncle very well either. He is my father’s life-saving benefactor, a close friend despite the age difference, and the title of uncle actually comes from my father’s side."
Hearing what He Jianguo said, Wang Teng remarked, "Secretary He, Elder He has truly made a great friend."
These words were not meant as sarcasm, but rather they were filled with envy and jealousy.
He Jianguo asked, "Chief Wang, what exactly is my uncle’s identity that you have to call him a leader?"
Wang Teng replied, "I should not have disclosed Brother Chu’s identity, but since we are all our own people here, I’ll just say it. Both of you must have heard of Dragon Soul, right?"
"Dragon Soul!"
Hearing the name of Huaxia’s most mysterious sector, both He Jianguo and Pei Wending were startled.
"Are you saying that my uncle is a member of Dragon Soul?" He Jianguo found it hard to believe.
Wang Teng nodded seriously and said, "Brother Chu is indeed from Dragon Soul, and he holds the rank of Colonel. Presumably, his rank within Dragon Soul isn’t low either."
Pei Wending was somewhat familiar with Dragon Soul; after all, the military and police were not separate. Furthermore, the position of Dragon Soul was equally authoritative on the police side.
So even though Chu Feng was just a Colonel, Pei Wending, the head of the Public Security Bureau, would still rank three levels lower in his presence.
"Then it seems I will have to apologize to the leader later," Pei Wending said with a wry smile.
He Jianguo said, "My uncle is not such a pedantic person. Inform everyone to fully cooperate with my uncle’s actions now."
Upon hearing He Jianguo’s words, Pei Wending stood at attention, saluted, and agreed, "Yes! Secretary He, I’ll inform everyone right now."
Wang Teng added, "I will also notify my people to fully support Brother Chu’s actions."
Both men went about their business, and at this time, He Jianguo also somewhat understood his father’s efforts. At the same time, in his heart, he truly acknowledged Chu Feng as his uncle.
Of course, this was not to say that He Jianguo was pragmatic. It was simply the reaction one would expect from any normal person, nothing reprehensible.
If He Jianguo had been pragmatic, he would not have suggested addressing Chu Feng as uncle in the first place.
It was just that now, his respect had deepened even more.
Chu Feng was unaware of the change below as he climbed to the ninth floor and then extended his Divine Sense to check the situation inside the office.
Chu Feng’s Divine Sense had a limited range and consumed a great deal of energy. But for Mia’s sake, he was willing to expend the effort no matter how draining it was.
In the office on the tenth floor, Mia and her American friend were trapped in a corner.
Opposing them were four armed kidnappers.
Mia retreated in fear as she caught the menacing look in their eyes.
"Damn it! Are you looking for death? What time do you think it is now, and you’re still thinking about those things?" the leader scolded as he slapped one of his men.
"Boss, what are we worried about? Those Koreans already said they’d send someone to rescue us, so what’s there to worry about?" one of them retorted.
"Shut the hell up! Right now, we can’t rely on anyone but our hostages. Look at the people outside, do you think those Koreans can send someone?"
Just as the boss was preparing to continue his tirade, his mobile phone started ringing. He took out the phone and his face changed immediately, "You two, go check the windows, someone is climbing up from outside."
Chu Feng didn’t understand lip reading, but when he saw someone approaching the window, he realized he had been spotted. He also knew that among the crowd below there were probably their people.
"Whoosh!"
In an instant, Chu Feng leaped to the tenth-floor window. Seeing this through his binoculars, Pei Wending immediately used the walkie-talkie to order the power cut.
The power was shut off in an instant, plunging the building into darkness.
The sudden darkness threw those inside into chaos.
Taking advantage of the darkness, Chu Feng smashed his fist directly against the glass curtain wall.
Although the glass curtain wall was extremely sturdy, it was no match for Chu Feng’s strength of 8000 jin.
Chu Feng’s punch "boom" shattered the glass curtain wall.
The sudden crashing sound sent everyone in the room into a panic.
Four hostage-takers immediately turned their guns towards the window and started firing wildly.
However, such shooting was never going to hurt Chu Feng.
Although the room was now completely dark, this was not a problem for Chu Feng at all.
After entering the room, Chu Feng rolled on the spot, dodging all the bullets, then quickly approached the four men and delivered his Heavy Punch straight to them.
Chu Feng had no mercy for those who showed no regard for the lives of others.
With four punches, Chu Feng took out the four men, then rushed to Mia’s side as quickly as he could.
The moment Chu Feng touched Mia, she screamed in terror.
"Mia, don’t scream, it’s me, Chu Feng, I’m here to save you," Chu Feng said.
"Boss!" Hearing Chu Feng’s voice, Mia flung herself into his arms and clung tightly to him.
Mia clung closely to Chu Feng, but this embrace was tough on Chu Feng. On one hand, he had to deal with his body’s reaction, and on the other, he was concerned for Mia’s safety. Of course, the main issue was that Mia’s tight embrace was a bit too much for Chu Feng to handle.
"Cough cough! Mia, tell your friends not to be afraid, I’ll deal with the people outside and then come back for you," Chu Feng coughed twice and said to Mia.
Mia obediently nodded her head and said, "Boss, I’ll be waiting for you."
Chu Feng let go of Mia and then slid directly to the door, where he punched out and took down a hostage-taker who had just reached the entrance.
Next, Chu Feng stayed by the door, waiting for his opportunity and successfully took out all the remaining hostage-takers who came upon hearing the noise.
After dealing with these men, Chu Feng called He Jianguo, "The hostage-takers have been taken care of, you can ask Director Pei to restore the power now. Then send in the troops for a thorough search of the building. Also, tell Chief Wang to control the crowd outside; there are likely to be accomplices among them. Don’t let them get away."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, excitement was unmistakable on He Jianguo’s face, "Little uncle, please be careful yourself."
Chu Feng acknowledged and then hung up the phone.
Soon the power was restored to the building, and the armed police and special police entered to conduct a search on every floor. At the same time, plainclothes officers began to move swiftly among the crowd outside.
"Boss!" Mia ran up to Chu Feng and wrapped herself around him with kisses and hugs.
Chu Feng was somewhat overwhelmed by Mia’s enthusiastic way of expressing herself and coughed twice, "Mia, are you okay?"
Mia replied joyfully, "Boss, I’m fine. These people are like persistent ghosts; even coming to Huaxia, they won’t let me go."
Hearing Mia’s words, Chu Feng was also taken aback. These people were clearly bank robbers, so why were they persistently chasing after Mia like vengeful ghosts? It was totally unrelated, was there more to this story?
