Chapter 106: Chapter 0106: Begin Military Training

Chu Feng’s reaction was the calmest among everyone, as he had already guessed the reason for the incident.

"Thank you for your concern, Principal, and I appreciate your impartial handling of this matter," Chu Feng said.

Although Chu Feng had guessed the reason for the incident, he knew the importance of face. Just as each lifts the palanquin, he understood this simple principle.

Sure enough, Li Dongsheng felt much better after hearing Chu Feng’s words. He was genuinely worried that Chu Feng was a young man who was too arrogant for his own good, which would have made it awkward for him when he wouldn’t be able to step down gracefully.

"Chu Feng, you and your classmates go back and pack up for this afternoon’s military training. I’ll handle the rest," Li Dongsheng said after exchanging pleasantries and then hung up the phone.

"Wow, dude, you’re full of surprises. You even know the Principal, and here we were, worrying about you for nothing," Tie Mu playfully punched Chu Feng and said.

Chu Feng just smiled and didn’t explain. After all, it wasn’t something that could be easily explained.

"No way, you’re buying us lunch. We’ve been running around with you all morning," Qi Houbo said.

Chu Feng smiled and replied, "No problem, let’s meet at the iron pot stew place by the school gate at noon."

"Sure!" The three friends of Tie Mu answered in unison.

"Young Master Chu! Young Master Chu! Please wait!" Zhang Wendong finally snapped to his senses as he saw Chu Feng apparently about to leave. He jumped up from his chair and hurried after him, taking three steps at a time.

Zhang Wendong was already corpulent, and his running made him resemble a rolling ball even more.

"What’s the matter?" asked Chu Feng, feigning ignorance.

Zhang Wendong’s face turned red with embarrassment as he said, "Young Master Chu, I was wrong about what happened just now. I was misled by someone’s malicious gossip..."

Zhang Wendong now wished he could slap himself hard for having offended this individual.

Chu Feng cut off Zhang Wendong’s endless apologies, saying, "You shouldn’t be asking me for help right now, you should be asking the person who instructed you to do this. They should take responsibility for telling you to act like that, don’t you think?"

Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Zhang Wendong wished he could vanish into thin air.

Now that he had been suspended by the Principal, would the Vice Principal dare to contradict the Principal? And would they really oppose the Vice Principal to support him?

"Young Master Chu, I know I was wrong. Please give me a chance to make it right. I’ll set up a table at noon to apologize," Zhang Wendong pleaded almost pitifully.

Working in the student affairs office had brought Zhang Wendong to this level of servitude to students.

"There’s no need for apologies, because I won’t accept your apology. We are going to have lunch," Chu Feng said.

Having said that, Chu Feng turned around and left without lingering.

Tie Mu seemed not to find this satisfactory enough and turned back to make a foreboding threat, "Be careful when you leave the school; watch out for someone to smack you with a brick."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Wendong’s face turned pale, and his legs started to give way.

In school, his status might make someone like Tie Mu think twice, but now he was nothing, and it would be as easy for Tie Mu to crush him as it would be to squash an ant.

Watching Chu Feng and his friends leave, Zhang Wendong collapsed to the ground.

But he quickly thought of something and hurriedly picked up his phone to make a call.

"Xiao Zhang, is everything settled?" Vice Principal Huang asked cheerfully, though his mind had already drifted to Hai Yuntian.

After hearing this sentence, Zhang Wendong cried out, "Old leader, you have to save me!"

Vice Principal Huang’s brow furrowed as soon as he heard that and asked, "What happened?"

Zhang Wendong didn’t dare hide anything and recounted everything in detail.

After listening, Vice Principal Huang’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected that trying to deal with a student would lead to Li Dongsheng’s involvement.

"Old leader, you have to save me!" Zhang Wendong begged with tears.

Vice Principal Huang frowned and said, "Xiao Zhang, I’ve heard you. Go home and rest for now. I’ll mediate this matter and get back to you with a call."

After hearing such a noncommittal response, Zhang Wendong felt cold inside, but at this point, Vice Principal Huang was his only lifeline—he had no choice but to trust him.

"Uncle, is there a problem?" Huang Zhongwei asked, seeing his uncle’s grim face.

Vice Principal Huang shared the story with Huang Zhongwei, who looked thoughtful.

Soon, however, an idea seemed to strike Huang Zhongwei, and he said, "Uncle, this might also be an opportunity. We can use Chu Feng to strike at Li Dongsheng. With a nudge from you in the process, perhaps uncle, you could seize the position of Principal?"

Upon hearing this, Vice Principal Huang’s eyes lit up before asking, "Zhongwei, what plan do you have?"

Huang Zhongwei immediately shared his plan with his uncle.

Upon hearing the plan, Vice Principal Huang broke into a smile and said, "Good! Let’s do it your way. Whatever support you need, your uncle will help you."

After listening to that, Huang Zhongwei thought maliciously to himself, "Kid, this time, I doubt you will survive."

Chu Feng and his three friends tidied up their luggage in the dorm briefly and then headed straight to the restaurant.

"This incident with Chu Feng doesn’t seem that simple. It’s likely that there’s an informant among us. Otherwise, how could Huang Zhongwei know you weren’t in the dorm?" Han Chunsheng broached the subject while they waited for their food.

Chu Feng had already considered this point. There were so many freshmen who were still unfamiliar with each other; how could anyone have noticed that he was not in the dorm?

"I am certainly not the informant." After hearing Han Chunsheng’s words, Tie Mu hastily waved his hands in denial.

When the three others heard Tie Mu, they couldn’t help but laugh and said, "Did anyone say you were the informant? The informant is not from our dorm; there must be someone else."

Han Chunsheng nodded and said, "Everyone think back and see if anyone else came to our dorm yesterday."

Suddenly Qi Houbo remembered something and said, "Someone did come by yesterday, and he even asked where Chu Feng had gone. I didn’t pay attention at the time, but now it looks like he’s the suspect."

"Who?" the three asked in unison.

"Luan Fei!" Qi Houbo replied.

After hearing this name, Chu Feng was not surprised. In fact, he should have suspected Luan Fei from the start.

"It’s that damn kid again. Today we have to skin him alive," Tie Mu gritted his teeth.

"Barbarian, you only think of using force. Do you not find it filthy to lay hands on such a despicable person? To deal with someone like that, you must defeat him openly. It’s the only way to instill fear in him and shut him up. If you simply beat him up, you’ll be giving people a reason to talk," Qi Houbo advised.

After listening to Qi Houbo’s words, the three others looked at him as if they didn’t recognize him.

"What are you looking at me for?" Qi Houbo asked, feeling a bit uneasy under their gazes.

Tie Mu chuckled and said, "It seems that although you might be a bit ladylike, you’re not brainless."

Qi Houbo’s fair and smooth face flushed with anger at Tie Mu’s words, and he made a motion as if ready to go all out against Tie Mu.

But just at that moment, Chu Feng’s phone rang.

Chu Feng glanced at the caller ID and stepped out of the restaurant to answer it.

"Little Friend Chu, are you alright?" Elder He asked with concern from the other side of the line.

Chu Feng smiled and said, "Brother He, I guessed this was your doing; otherwise, how could the principal be so courteous to me, a mere student."

He Zhen replied, "I just happened to see it, and besides, what they were doing was a violation of the school rules to begin with."

Before Chu Feng could respond, he heard Lin Xue Mei’s voice, "Old man, you’re always going on about school rules and principles. What they did was wrong in the first place; couldn’t you have just dealt with it directly? Instead, you had to make our little brother jump through hoops."

Chu Feng was somewhat speechless hearing Lin Xue Mei’s rebuke and said to Elder He, "Brother He, regardless, I have to thank you for this matter."

Elder He laughed awkwardly and said, "I merely did what was within the principles."

"You stubborn old man, if you mention principles to me again, believe it or not, I won’t let you sleep in the living room today. Besides, you’re well again..."

Chu Feng couldn’t bear to listen any longer, so he said a few words and hung up the phone.

Just as Elder He’s call ended, Mengying’s call came through.

"Chu Feng, are you alright?" Mengying’s anxious voice was heard as soon as the call connected.

Chu Feng smiled and said, "Sister Mengying, I’m fine, everything has been resolved."

Upon hearing that everything was resolved, Mengying breathed a sigh of relief and said, "That’s good to hear. I really didn’t expect Huang Zhongwei to be so narrow-minded."

Chu Feng replied, "It’s okay, I’ll teach him to be more magnanimous in the future."

Mengying tensed up again upon hearing this and said, "Chu Feng, please don’t do anything rash."

Chu Feng assured her, "Don’t worry. I won’t."

At three in the afternoon, the new students of East River University promptly arrived at the Ninth Brigade’s barracks stationed near East River.

For the freshmen who just came to the military camp for training, the excitement was palpable.

However, their excitement quickly dissipated after they were assigned to their dormitories, as they had no time to rest and immediately began their formal military training.
