In the living room of the Tohno mansion.

As Aoko’s words fell, the atmosphere plunged into a strange silence, broken only by the mournful wail of the cold winter wind against the glass, adding a chilling touch to the eerie scene.

Haru, his body sinking slightly into the soft sofa cushions, his hands crossed before his chest, his legs crossed, looked at Aoko and Alice across the tea table with an amused expression.

Alice’s brow furrowed slightly. She was deeply displeased by Haru’s strange gaze, but the situation was clearly one of a weak prey facing a strong predator. She suppressed her displeasure, her black eyes meeting his without flinching.

Even in a position of weakness, her life in his hands, the witch’s pride within her would not allow her to bow to him, even if he was a True Magic User at the pinnacle of the magical path.

However, unlike the calm and collected Alice, the impulsive and hot-tempered Aoko, under Haru’s visual assault, immediately felt goosebumps erupt on her skin.

If not for her awareness of his monstrous power, and the fact that her half-baked magic was useless, she would have already blasted him with a magic bullet.

But as time passed, the anger on the young woman’s delicate face grew stronger.

Thwack—!

Aoko slammed her hand on the table. The solid, heavy wooden tea table groaned under her violent blow.

"I just asked you a question! If you’re going to kill me, just do it!!!" Aoko, suppressing the sharp pain in her palm, her forehead bulging with veins, roared at Haru, tears welling up in her eyes.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Haru clapped his hands three times, a smirk on his face, and with a look of appreciation, he chuckled at Aoko.

"Should I say a newborn calf isn’t afraid of a tiger, or that you’re just simple-minded? To still bare your fangs at me after knowing I’m a True Magic User... to be honest, I quite like you, Aozaki’s True Magic User!"

"Hmph!" Aoko snorted, sitting back on the sofa, her arms crossed, her well-endowed chest straining against her clothes. "Cut the Senpai act. Just tell me what you want, ’old True Magic User’!!"

To be honest, Aoko was surprised by her own actions. After all, the other party was one of only five known True Magic Users in the world.

And True Magic Users, judging by her own grandfather, were likely all psychopaths. And besides her grandfather, the other True Magic Users, according to him, were all at least a thousand years old.

An old man who refuses to die is a thief. The thought of losing her temper at such a madman, who had lived for who knows how long, sent a wave of fear through Aoko.

Aoko swallowed hard, looking at the still-smiling Haru with a hint of panic. Her intuition told her that he was definitely thinking of some way to punish her, and a very gruesome one at that.

Was it too late to take back what she’d said?

"Though you call me an old True Magic User, I’m only in my early thirties," Haru said with a grin, looking at Aoko. At the same time, he reached out, took out a tea set from under the tea table, and skillfully began to brew tea.

"Huh? Early thirties?" Aoko blinked, a dazed expression on her face. The next second, a look of disbelief on her face, she repeated, "This is completely different from the thousand-year-old bastard I imagined."

Alice, beside her, remained exceptionally calm. After all, she didn’t have a grandfather to fill her head with knowledge about True Magic Users. And she’d seen Aoko become a True Magic User at the age of sixteen. The age difference didn’t have much of an impact on her.

The mineral water, under the influence of magic, instantly became boiling hot. Haru poured it into the teapot containing the tea leaves, and after a few steps, two cups of warm tea were placed before the stunned Aoko and the composed Alice.

"Well now, young ladies, to inexplicably attack me... I assume you were prepared for the consequences," Haru chuckled, looking at the two. Though he was smiling, his words held a strange chill.

"Ah, I was prepared," Aoko said, coming to her senses, her expression exceptionally grave.

Alice silently picked up her teacup, took a sip, her expression natural. Having lost her parents and lived alone for several years, she had, in fact, lived long enough.

"As an elder, I can’t very well show you young, impulsive girls the cruelty of a magus," Haru sighed, a troubled look on his face.

His expression was like that of a young parent, troubled by how to handle a mischievous child, his face a mix of seven parts affection and three parts helplessness.

However, a chill ran down Alice and Aoko’s spines. Before they could react, Haru continued.

"How about this? Willingly sign this RBQ, er no, slave contract! And I’ll let you off the hook."

Two scrolls of brownish-yellow parchment silently appeared before the two, hovering in mid-air, displaying their contents.

"Who would sign this damn thing!!!!"

Aoko grabbed the parchment, her forehead bulging with veins, and began to tear at it. Finding it indestructible, she slammed it to the ground and, standing up, stomped on it with her leather boots.

Alice silently placed the parchment on the tea table and looked at Haru, her expression impassive, a silent protest.

Haru watched the enraged Aoko with a grin. Though the two didn’t know it yet, the master-servant contract had already been forcibly signed by the Poké Ball.

However, that kind of forced contract would only invite their hatred. And an A++ rank contractual concept, to be honest, Haru wasn’t very confident it could restrain Aoko, who possessed the Fifth Magic. It was better to use it as a last resort.

And the reason he’d taken out this harsh contract was purely for his own amusement.

For some reason, he just wanted to bully the Aoko before him. Seeing the various expressions on her delicate, pretty face due to his wicked teasing... Haru felt an inexplicable sense of joy.

Alice, who had been watching Haru, saw his wicked smile, a hint of suspicion in her eyes.

"Since you don’t like it, let’s try another one," Haru said with a soft snap of his fingers. A new contract appeared before the two.

"Compensated work? A two-year maid contract?" Aoko panted, stomping on the parchment, her gaze fixed on the contents of the new contract. Her brow furrowed, her anger subsiding a little, but she was still in a foul mood.

"...Can the payment be the return of my familiars?" Alice shifted her gaze from the contract to Haru, her expression impassive.

In this world, the only things she cared about were the mansion left to her by her parents and the familiars inherited from her mother. And in the previous battle, her two great secret treasures had fallen into Haru’s hands.

If she could, she would have liked to take back her property by force, but the absolute difference in their combat power made her realize she could only use roundabout means.

Therefore, she was somewhat tempted by this maid agreement.

"Hey, hey, Alice, no way? You’re going to sign this thing?" Aoko pointed at the contract, looking at Alice with surprise.

"Oh, the Rose Hound and the Oil of the Moon? Of course," Haru said with a slight start, then chuckled.

Alice nodded and, with an impassive expression, pressed her handprint onto the contract.

After Alice had signed, Haru turned his gaze to Aoko, a kind, elderly expression on his face, his voice gentle. "A slave contract, a maid contract, or a gruesome death. Make your choice, young True Magic User~"

Aoko looked at her compromising housemate, then at the smiling Haru, her face a mixture of green and white.

Seeing her pale, contorted face, Haru’s smile widened.
