Thirty meters above the Amusement Park.
Buzz—! Buzz—! Buzz—!
A small, red-and-white sphere hovered in the sky, a white button in its center pulsing with a red light.
If anyone from another world were present, they would have instantly recognized it, a legendary item that had once captivated an entire generation.
—A Poké Ball.
And if any magus from the Type-Moon world were present, they would have surely seen that the object, radiating a dense aura of the ’Law,’ was a rare magical tool!!
Matter, energy, space, and the concept of contracts—this Poké Ball was the culmination of all the magic Haru had collected thus far.
Its functions were many. For instance, it contained a self-sufficient pocket dimension with a villa, enough self-circulating matter and energy to sustain a person for ten thousand years, and various other special features.
But the reason Haru had designed this item as a Poké Ball was, naturally—to catch girls!
The red light pulsing in the center of the Poké Ball signified the forced inscription of a contractual concept. Silently, without the girl’s knowledge, a ’master-servant contract’ was being forcibly enacted.
However, the Poké Ball, with its ability to press a contractual handprint upon capture, had a flaw.
During the contract inscription process, while the red light was flashing, if one could break through the space inside the Poké Ball, the contract could be interrupted.
But for Alice Kuonji, who, aside from her magic, was as helpless as a kitten, this flaw was nonexistent.
Thump—!
The Poké Ball shuddered slightly, and the pulsing red light vanished.
Haru beckoned, and the hovering Poké Ball floated into his hand.
A smirk played on his lips. With a childish flourish, he struck the ’Ash Ketchum signature capture pose.’
"Alice Kuonji, I choose you!!!"
"What?" Aoko’s bewildered voice came from the Genie Lamp floating in the air.
"Hehehe!" Hearing this, Haru, with a wicked grin, took out another Poké Ball, uncorked the Genie Lamp, and gently tossed it!
Thump—!
"Who’s throwing balls...?" The roar was cut short!
—————
The Tohno Mansion.
In the second-floor living room.
’Haru’ stood silently in the center of the room, a Poké Ball in each hand. He pressed the buttons with his thumbs and gently tossed them towards the sofa.
Two dazzling white lights erupted from nothing.
Then, Alice, reading a book, and Aoko, clutching a chicken leg, appeared in ’Haru’s’ line of sight.
"Huh, weren’t we just at the villa?" Aoko said, swallowing a piece of chicken with a bewildered expression. Then, she saw ’Haru.’
"...You bastard!!!" Aoko, with a furious roar, hurled the chicken leg, now bearing teeth marks, at ’Haru’s’ face. Her right arm glowed with an azure light; she was clearly using magic to enhance her arm strength.
’Haru’ caught the chicken leg and began to eat it with a calm expression.
"Numerology—Duet!!" Aoko immediately stood up, chanting a spell. Several magic circles appeared on her wrist, and the glow of a magic bullet suddenly appeared.
"Alice, back me up!" Aoko shouted, preparing to fire the condensed magic bullet.
Hearing this, Alice sighed softly, glanced at Aoko with a helpless expression, closed her book, and turned her gaze to ’Haru,’ a faint question in her black, pearl-like eyes.
During her time in the Poké Ball, she’d realized that the other party held no ill will towards her, but he definitely had a special purpose.
From the fact that the ball could freely produce supplies, even magical tomes, she knew he wasn’t lacking for money, and probably didn’t need her Fairy Tale Magic. So, the reason for capturing her and Aoko...
A sense of foreboding welled up in Alice’s heart.
The next moment, the aura of the ’Law’ descended, containing an exceptionally dense, ’self-centered’ will.
"The aura is stronger?" Alice’s pupils constricted. From this aura, which was on a completely different level from before, she saw a more terrifying meaning.
"What’s going on? My magic isn’t working?" Aoko said with a shocked expression, looking at the self-destructing magic bullet in her hand. She gritted her teeth and, refusing to give up, frantically poured her magical energy into it.
"Mystery loses its effect in the presence of a higher Mystery. This is an ironclad rule of this world. Your knowledge is still insufficient, young True Magic User!" A strangely magnetic male voice suddenly reached Aoko and Alice’s ears.
The two, hearing the voice, immediately turned in its direction.
At the living room entrance, Haru, in a white bathrobe, leisurely walked in.
"You... you... you... you!"
Looking at the man, who was using a blue towel to dry his silver, water-drenched hair, Aoko stared, dumbfounded. She turned her head to look at the ’Haru’ beside her, then back at Haru, then back again, muttering for a long time, unable to form a complete sentence.
"A clone-type magic?" Alice narrowed her eyes, staring at the man before her, who was radiating a dense aura of the Root.
"...Alice, are you sure magic can do this? They’re clearly twins!!" Aoko said, pointing at the standing ’Haru’ beside her, her voice filled with disbelief as she addressed Alice.
"Ah, that’s the masterpiece of my Fourth Magic, the ’Law of Matter’," Haru said, taking off the damp towel and addressing the Aoko across the table.
"Fourth... Magic?" Aoko was slightly taken aback, her voice dazed.
"Ah, Aoko. We’ve been had. We fell into the hands of your Senpai. Unlike you, a half-baked magus, he is a—True Magic User!" Alice said, still maintaining her impassive expression, her tone flat.
Aoko’s lip twitched wildly. She knew the meaning of a True Magic User. After all, she’d grown up witnessing her grandfather’s monstrous power, a power that could crush any opponent.
And yet—when she had inherited the magic, her grandfather had told her.
[The Aozaki family’s magic is—incomplete! Though I don’t have much hope, Aoko, you are the one most likely to complete the Fifth Magic, ’Blue’!]
"A monster even more monstrous than the old man... I’m... so screwed!" Aoko collapsed onto the sofa, a helpless sigh escaping her lips.
"So, what do you want with us, Senpai!" Aoko’s gaze sharpened as she looked at Haru’s face.
At the same time, Alice’s eyes gradually grew grave.
Under the two young women’s gazes, Haru’s lips curved upwards into a wicked smile.
