Chapter 184: Summer Camp Begins
An unexpected encounter with Yukino at the convenience store was hardly worth mentioning.
For Ren, it was just a fleeting moment. Without lingering emotions, he quickly forgot the incident and continued his journey to Ohananomitsu High School.
The school gate stood firm, untouched by the chaos beyond. Ren showed his ID to the security.
With a nod from the security, Ren strode in, heading straight to the parking area where several buses were neatly lined up.
"Rokuhara-senpai, good morning!"
A shy voice greeted him as he approached one of the buses.
A girl with long, dark blue hair parted into three bangs and brown eyes, Sonoda Umi, his junior and the ace of the Archery Club, stood near the bus door.
"I’m not late, am I, Umi?"
"Senpai, you’re the last one. I almost thought you weren’t coming. Your habit of being late hasn’t changed."
"Thanks for the compliment."
"That wasn’t a compliment, Senpai."
Compared to her strict discipline, Umi could only sigh in resignation at Ren’s carefree attitude.
"Well, the important thing is I showed up, right?"
Ren gave a faint smile, ignoring her expression.
They boarded the bus, already filled with other Archery Club members.
The cabin buzzed with chatter and cheerful laughter, the typical atmosphere of a summer camp.
Ren glanced around, looking for an empty seat. Then, another voice called out.
"Long time no see, Rokuhara-kun."
It was a tall, slender teenage boy with neatly styled short black hair and blue eyes framed by black-rimmed glasses.
His face radiated intelligence and calm.
The Archery Club president, Takehaya Seiya.
He sat near the bus door, holding a book on kyudo strategy.
"Did you know how shocked I was to hear Sonoda-san managed to convince you to join the summer training? With your lazy personality, I was sure you’d refuse, Rokuhara-kun."
Seiya gave a faint smile, neither overly friendly nor hostile.
Ren shrugged, glancing at Umi beside him.
"Well, Umi offered something I couldn’t refuse."
Umi’s face flushed slightly. She knew exactly what Ren meant.
A date they’d once discussed. A promise Ren made to join the camp.
"Rokuhara-senpai, please don’t say things that could be misunderstood!"
Some Archery Club members overheard Ren’s comment and started whispering, wondering what promise made him agree to join.
Not wanting to explain the date, Umi, embarrassed by the stares, hurried to her seat next to a girl named Shiragiku Noa.
"..."
Seiya observed Umi’s reaction, then looked back at Ren with an amused smile.
"Goodness, you didn’t do anything excessive to our cute club member, did you, Rokuhara-kun? Let me remind you, Sonoda-san is the Archery Club’s mascot and my most valuable student."
"I’ll leave that to your imagination, Takehaya."
Not wanting to linger, Ren moved further into the bus, finding an empty seat at the back near the window. He sat down casually, leaning his head against the seat.
The long journey to the camp was about to begin, and Ren knew the quiet days he’d recently enjoyed with his harem would soon be replaced by strict discipline and the dull atmosphere of club activities.

Soon after, a female teacher boarded the bus.
Her long pink hair flowed beautifully, and her face bore a cold expression, as icy as a thousand-year-old glacier.
She was Kirisu Mafuyu, one of Ohananomitsu High School’s three young and beautiful teachers, known for her strictness.
Mafuyu spoke briefly with the driver, giving final instructions, before nodding. The bus began to move slowly, leaving the school gate behind.
"Hm? Since when did Kirisu-sensei become the Archery Club’s advisor?"
Ren squinted slightly, noticing Mafuyu now seated at the front, flipping through documents.
As far as he knew, the club’s advisor was Morioka Tomio, an elderly male teacher.
Hearing Ren’s mutter, a boy seated in front of him turned around.
His name was Kisaragi Nanao, one of the Archery Club’s most eccentric members.
"Rokuhara, you really didn’t know? Tommy-sensei retired last year."
"Seriously? This is the first I’ve heard of it. Well, Tommy-sensei was old; it’s about time he retired. By the way, Kisaragi, where’s this summer camp headed?"
Nanao stared at Ren in disbelief, tilting his head slightly.
"Huh? You joined without knowing where? Geez, Rokuhara... you’re so reckless. Are all geniuses as eccentric as you?"
Ren rolled his eyes. He didn’t appreciate being called eccentric by someone far more eccentric than him.
"You’re in no position to call me that, Kisaragi. If we’re talking eccentric, you’re just as bad, if not worse."
Nanao was playful, flirtatious, and had a slightly feminine aura.
His interests included the latest mobile games, cute frog accessories he often wore, and cosmopolitan trends, like using the Turkish greeting "merhaba!" out of context.
If that wasn’t eccentric, what was?
"Ah, sorry, sorry. The camp’s in Nagano. There’s a great archery training facility there, plus accommodations perfect for a group our size."
"Nagano, huh? Not bad. At least there’ll be views."
"Of course! The scenery’s gorgeous, Rokuhara. You’ll love it. Or are you hoping to see other ’gorgeous views’ there, like girls from other schools joining the camp?"
"Wild imaginations like that suit you better, Kisaragi."
Though deep down, Ren didn’t entirely dismiss the idea. His harem was already full, but looking never hurt.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. Hope the camp’s fun for you, Rokuhara."
Kisaragi turned back, likely returning to his quirky mobile game.

The trip from Tokyo to Nagano took about three to four hours. The bus cruised at a steady pace on the highway, passing dense urban landscapes that gradually gave way to quieter suburbs and, eventually, vast rural greenery.
Outside the window, the scenery shifted from towering skyscrapers to sprawling rice fields, hills, and occasional traditional Japanese houses.
Seated at the back near the window, Ren gazed at the passing scenery with a bored expression.
Umi occasionally glanced back, perhaps checking if Ren was still there or curious about what he was doing.
’Ugh, so boring. If boredom could be sold, I’d be filthy rich.’
Ren sighed. The long trip felt tedious to him.
He was used to the relentless pace and stimulation of his daily life, especially the past five days with his harem.
This slow, distraction-free bus ride felt like a stark contrast.
To pass the time, Ren decided to play on his phone.
