Chapter 57: Bloody Wizard-3

**************

*GALLOP-GALLOP!

’I have to do something. We can’t get to Master, they’d die— for this house, I have to save Kaleb.’

Those were his thoughts as Tav rode through the forest with the rest of the party. "Please, forgive me, guys."

"Huh?" One of the knights following and close to him heard mumbled something.

*SHING!

*CHUNK!

Both knights barely caught the sound of blades being unsheathed when an attack came at them the next second.

It was unexpected, quick for one to be unable to dodge or counter and deadly. Plunging into them and out at their backs, piercing through the most vital part of their bodies— the heartcore.

’This is for the greater good.’ Tav convinced himself, doing his best to dampen the fact of what he’d just done. ’It’s for NobleHouse Elmore!’

This was the boldest decision anyone would take, also the stupidest of course. However, that currently lay in the past now, the deed has been done and there was no changing that fact.

Drawing the blades out of the two, it felt heavy and engulfing it now were flaming auras. Both blades glowed with a silver flame around them, as seeing the change on his Mid Grade Knight Tier Weapons. Tav recalled the two bearing the same color of auras, yet it still didn’t make sense with what he could see. Having an aura around one’s weapon was a feat attainable by one at the level of a Channeller. Yet though he was one stage towards breaking through to it— this was never supposed to be possible as far as he knew.

’Only one person could know this.’ Sheathing the weapons at both sides of his stallion, he kicked and hit the reins causing it to move faster. The others, five in total were ahead with two at the center and three including Kaleb taking the vanguard. Riding closer to them with each passing second,

both hands rested on the hilt of his swords.

"Don’t hate me." Mumbling under his breath, he’d gotten to the needed range without hesitation.

*SHING!

Tav’s sword was unsheathed in a matter of seconds, leaving it’s scabbard as fast as their heads left their necks. For he’d made a clean cut, just at the opening between their helmet and armor. Blood splattered everywhere, staining his armour and sword which still glowed silver.

Going to sheath his sword, he looked up ahead at the vanguard and to his surprise all eyes were on him. He could feel Kaleb’s eyes piercing right through him despite being hidden behind the helmet.

"Tav Yakai, by the military laws I hereby sentence you to death for treason."

"Treason! What does that mean anyways— haha, you know I didn’t attend those classes much."

"Kill him." Kaleb ordered, looking away from him.

"I see."

*SWOOSH!

*SWOOSH!

*THUNK!

*THUNK!

*SWOOSH-THUNK!

*SWOOSH-THUNK!

’It’s all for the greater good.’ He thought to himself, spitting out blood, four arrows sticking right into him. He kept a tight grip on his sword and before they could fire at him once again. One of his swords cut through the air, finding its aim on the knight’s head. It pierced through the helm as if it was mere butter, his head having nothing remaining throwing off and down to the ground— dead.

The other was taken aback as he stared at his comrade having been brutally killed, the same came at him, knocking him off his stallion. "Seems I’ll have to do this myself."

*SHING!

Drawing his blade and pulling the reins, Kaleb went for a slash behind him only to cut through nothing but air. ’He’s gone?!’

’Ral, they’re downhill! He’s fired at Master, I have to stop him before that old man retorts.’ Riding off the path, he navigated his way downhill. However, his stunts didn’t go unnoticed as following behind was Kaleb.

"He’s heading down to his death." Kaleb could see the rest of the party downhill, having now cornered the enemy.

’Why did you do this Tav?’

Bleeding out, Tav did nothing to stop it, as he was so focused on getting down there, that he forgot how badly he was hurt.

’Ral fired another one, this is bad.’

"Tav, I’ll give you a chance to live— stand down, Tav!!"

"Sorry Kaleb, but there’s no way I ever can. NobleHouse Elmore can’t fall, you don’t want to touch an important member of the Union." Tav mumbled to himself, almost reaching the main path.

"Looks like you’re eager to die after all."

*****************

"Kaleb?!" Ral muttered. ’What happened?’

’I gave you a chance yet you rejected it— only death awaits a traitor.’

His sword glowing a bright silver, he pulled the reins bringing his mount to a quick halt and sending him flying in the air. His sword raised, he descended on him, everywhere being shrouded in silence as Tav’s head rolled away from his neck— blood oozing out.

"KALEB!!!" Ral’s scream resounded throughout the entire area, causing the birds of the forest to fly up into the sky.

"I’ll kill you!! I’ll kill you!!" In a blink of an eye, Ral was off his horse, had drawn out the swords of two nearby knights and was dashing towards him.

Tears gushed out from his eyes, blurring his vision as he did, countless reasons flooded his mind. All seemed like a dream to him, unable to believe Tav was dead and at the hands of Kaleb. "None was as loyal to you as Tav and you killed him!!"

"Loyal?! What about the deaths of those six men— weren’t they loyal too?!" Kaleb retorted loudly, turning to face him.

*THUD!

"Nobody!! Nobody dares to kill a bastard before me!!" Lo-an’s voice boomed, the spiritual energy around him fluctuating violently. His eyes glowed brightly, each step emanating the power of his aura.

"Ugh!" Carl could feel his entire being going deeper into the ground, his attempts to fight it proved to be useless. As every single cell in his being, screamed out to run as far as he could from this person.

’We were after someone this deadly?’ He was already regretting it, his heart racing as he feared being noticed by him as his eyes were on the two.

Meters away from pouncing on Kaleb, Ral suddenly dropped down on his knees, sliding towards him instead. Just like Tav, he fell on his face and bowed to him. "Master... forgive this bastard... and- and spare the Elmores— please."

***********

On the rooftop of a building, five young boys gazed at the cityscape all having an apple in their hands.

"Dan, what did you see." Tav inquired, biting and chewing on the apple as he spoke.

"Yeah tell us." Another with purple hair added, eager to hear what he had to say like the others.

"Master, he– he killed them without sparing any, even those kids— those Candidates."

Their eyes widened in shock, and one of the apples that Ral held in his hands about digging in dropped down onto the ground. "Dan, what did you say?" Ral’s voice was shaking just like his hands trembled also.

"NobleHouse Yalen, it– it doesn’t exist anymore. Master killed all of them, he destroyed everything, it’s all my fault! I caused their deaths!"
