Building a World Class Empire in another World
Chapter 94: Pursing the Ogres

Chapter 94: Pursing the Ogres

"The wall is going to have two levels, the first wall and the second wall, with a gap in between both." Aric said and took his quill. He drew on the paper, two lines in a circular, parallel to each other.

"Master, you mean you want two walls around the village?" Ron asked, his gaze locked on the paper.

"Exactly Ron, that’s what I need. It’s a two-layer defense for the kingdom. The first wall will be wall alpha, and the second will be wall beta." Aric said.

"Master, why would you want two walls?" Lucas asked.

"Hmm, the reason is a lot to explain, but I have my reasons for it. Like I have said before, the walls are the final walls that we will be building.

The first wall will be made twenty feet tall, six feet wide, it’s going to be a very different type of wall from what you might have knowledge inside.

The wall will be hollow and empty enough to plant certain defenses inside." Aric continued speaking, while drawing out his plans, lost in whatever he was doing.

"Master, such a wall is not something we can finish early even with our skills and numbers. There are also other projects that we have to carry out, like the water system, and many other things." Gunan said, his words made Aric stop his blabbering.

He realized that he was actually trying to rush through things, he didn’t have the population for it right now, and that was a major issue.

"Sigh, I forget about that sometimes." Aric said, he set the papers aside, ready to scrap the whole project, when suddenly, Pentharis burst into the office.

"Master, master, there’s an emergency." He said as he rushed into the room, all eyes turned to look at him. Aric had never seen Pentharis out of breath like this before.

"What’s wrong, Pentharis?" He asked, coming out from behind the table to meet Pentharis.

"Ogres, they are headed our way, hundreds of them all coming this way." Pentharis said.

"What? They are coming at us for war? What did we do?" Aric asked, panic already filled his face as he didn’t expect this.

"No, not for war, they are being chased by an army of hobgoblins." Pentharis said.

"And they decided to head here? Shit, this isn’t good. Where’s Ariel?" He asked.

"She is out with Gorin, but she asked I inform you first." Pentharis said.

"I see, well head outside, tell her, take all the goblins out with bows and keep them ready. Ron, Lucas, Gunan, you’ll lead three groups of the goblins under the leadership of Gorin.

We can’t fight the ogres and the goblins at the same time, that would be like creating two enemies, something we can’t deal with right now.

The ogres are seemingly the ones getting chased, and we have wanted to gain a favor, so this is an opportunity, we have to guide them to safety." Aric said.

"You want us to take in the ogres? What if it’s a plot, master? There are over five hundred ogres there." Pentharis said.

"Are they only adults?" Aric asked.

"No, I saw young and old all alike." Pentharis said.

"So unless they are somehow using an illusion, I doubt they would be dragging their children out here to die. Do as I said, save the ogres, and we will stop the goblin army behind." Aric said.

"Yeah, that’s another issue, master. There are thousands of goblins." Pentharis said.

"Oh shit," Aric cursed when he heard the number, "it doesn’t matter though, we still have to stop them, let’s go." Aric said and rushed out of his room.

He pulled out his armor from his inventory, and as soon as he reached the first floor, he put it on, the simple leather armor that he had ever since the first few days.

He rushed outside and saw everyone lined up waiting for him. The goblins lined up like an army, with Ariel, Gorin, and the spirits waiting for him.

Immediately Ariel saw Aric step outside she rushed to him.

"Aric," she called out.

"I already know, Pentharis filled me in, and I’ve already decided on what we will be doing. We are saving the ogres and stopping the goblin army.

I need all the spirits to be with me, while you and Elisa help all the ogres get into safety. The goblins will stand just outside the village and use bows and arrows to fire at the goblin army." Aric explained his plan at a rushed pace.

"You want to go and fight the army yourself? And I can’t go with you?" Ariel asked.

"I need you to stay here, Ariel. As much as I don’t want to say this, we don’t fully understand when your true form will try to get out, and having it out on the forefront isn’t going to help.

I don’t want you running into battle recklessly, you might get hurt regardless of your strength." Aric said. Ariel dropped her head. She knew that Aric was simply trying to look out for her and also make sure nothing happened to the plan, but she still didn’t like it.

"We should start moving, Master. Based on what I saw, they should be getting close." Pentharis said, and immediately he said that, the ground began rumbling.

The sounds of footsteps filled the air, and birds flew out of the trees.

"Seems it’s time." Aric said.

"Alright, everyone get armed and move out." Gorin yelled. He was already a leader, so getting used to this army was not difficult for him.

The goblins rushed over to get their bows and arrows, hanging it across their shoulders, they marched out at a rushed pace.

"Let’s move out, use the walls." Aric said to the spirits. They nodded and followed him. They all got to the wall and jumped over the wall without any stress.

"Quadoris, give us an earth platform to move faster." Aric said.

Quadoris nodded and slammed his feet on the ground. The earth under all of them shot up with them on it. He controlled each one by himself and moved them through the forest very quickly.

"What’s your plan, master? To just intercept them and fight? Lady Ariel was really worried that you are coming out with such a small number to fight the goblin army." Unara said.

"I know she is worried, but she also knows that when I say something, that means I can do it. I have a plan to take on the goblins.

With all of you added, the chances of us actually losing to simple goblins is very low." Aric said. He sounded confident like he knew what he was doing entirely.

And since he said he could, they didn’t question it. After all, he was the one that had been doing impossible things all this while.

"We are closing up on the ogres. Should we inform them to head to the village?" Duvalis said, pointing forward at the host of ogres running.

"That’s a good plan, head that way, Quadoris." Aric said. Quadoris nodded and controlled their movement, changing their path to meet with the ogres.

The ogres were humanoid creatures, just larger. They had different types of skin colors, but mostly red, purple, and grey. They had slight horns on their heads which added to their unique nature.

When Aric was close to the ogres, he leaped off the stone and landed in front of them without care. He raised his hands and a vine wall formed in front of them.

Seeing this, the ogres fell into panic, feeling that their enemy had caught up to them, but Aric spoke quickly.

"Follow this path, head to the village covered in wooden walls and you’ll be safe, make sure you head there." He yelled loudly. All he needed was for the ones at the front to hear.

He had to do this quick because he was certain they would try to find another route after he blocked them.

With that out of the way, he quickly jumped back on his rock and removed the vines. The ogres rushed through crazily, they didn’t stop.

Quadoris flew Aric to the side and they watched the ogres run through.

"Do you think they heard you?" Duvalis asked.

"I think so." Aric said. He turned his eyes to the distance, and he could see the army chasing after the ogres.

"Those are our targets. It doesn’t matter here even if you kill them. Right now we can’t be generous like the first time. Whoever is captured will be brought back, that’s if you can capture anyone." Aric said.

They were about to head to stop the army, but Aric noticed five ogres still standing there. Three male ogres, one red-skinned one, one purple, and one grey with red patterns all over his body. And there were two female ogres, each with grey skin, but one had black hair and the other had purple hair.

"Why the hell are you five still here?" Aric asked.
