Chapter 85: Getting Information part 2
"That was fast," Aric said. He knew Ron was quick, but he didn’t think that his building abilities would have gone that far.
"I’ve been bettering my skills, master. After all, Lady Ariel has refused for you to be doing the hard work, so I have to make my skills as good as yours," Gorin said.
"Gorin, I can tell for certain that you are better than me already, by a lot," Aric said. He knew that Gorin might want to dispute that, so he continued speaking. "So show me to the dungeon."
Gorin nodded and led the way. They made their way out of the house and walked to the side, where a trap door led downward.
Aric was already impressed at the sight of the trap door; he didn’t think something like that would be there.
After Gorin opened the trap door, they used a ladder that had been set there. Aric climbed down after Gorin, dropping down into a short hallway made of bricks.
Torches hung from the wall, illuminating the hallway. Aric looked to his side and saw a thick metal door with only a small eye gap on it, for an orc to get into the dungeon and for the person outside to be able to see.
Aric’s eyes widened as he looked at the door. He slowly walked to it and placed his hand on it, feeling the strength of the door. He turned his head to Ron
"This door, who brought the idea?" Aric asked.
"It was Lucas. He said you would want your dungeon to have unbreakable doors. So he went out and discussed with Pentharis to make the door.
I told him you might not like it, but he insisted that it was perfect," Ron said.
"It is perfect. It won’t allow the person inside to escape," Aric said, his gaze shifting to the lock. There was a large padlock holding the door closed.
"And this lock? Who came up with this?" he asked.
"That was me, master. Since Pentharis was here already, I explained to him my idea that would help make sure that the door was always shut," Ron said.
"You created a fully functional lock, Ron. You’ve grown so much in so little time, it amazes me," Aric said. He stretched his hands and pulled the padlock, taking a closer look at it.
Ron removed a key and handed it to Aric. It was nothing too refined, with only two teeth, showing that Ron’s ideas were still not very good. Aric made a mental note to get Ron some books on different craftsmanship after he learned to read.
Aric slotted the key into the keyhole, and the lock opened. He pushed open the door and walked in. The smell of rusted iron wafted into his nose. Aric paused when he got hit by the smell. He looked up, seeing Gorin chained down, with his wounds still open.
The chains bound his arms and legs. The ends of the chains were nailed into the ground. Aric turned back, he looked at Ron and spoke. "Head out, Ariel will soon start the first class today," Aric said.
"Master, are you sure you’ll be alright here?" Ron asked.
"I was the one that took him down. There’s nothing he can do to me," Aric said. Ron nodded in reluctance. He walked out of the dungeon and took the ladder, going outside.
After Ron left, Aric let out a smile, his lips curved up, reaching his ears.
"Finally got you in the right place, Gorin," Aric said. He stretched out his palm at Gorin, a soft green light followed, healing all of Gorin’s wounds.
Before Gorin could be happy about the fact that he was healed, a kick came out of nowhere, slamming his face to the side.
Aric pulled back his leg after the kick and pulled out the small knife Pentharis made for him and pointed it at Gorin.
"Let me paint you a picture. Right now, I possess the power to bring you back from near-death situations. I can heal you back to a perfect state.
But that simply means that I can toy with you as much as I want. I can break you, bend you, do whatever I deem fit to you, and then heal you back to repeat the process," Aric said. He tossed the blade into the air, then caught it.
"It doesn’t matter what you do, I’ll never tell you about my master, my lord," Gorin spat. Aric didn’t react to what he said. He simply approached, and when he was close enough, he stabbed. His blade entered into the neck region of Gorin, cracking the collarbone and causing more damage.
"Arghhhhhh!" Gorin groaned in pain. He pulled at the chains, but nothing happened; the chains didn’t budge.
"Why are you getting all worked up? We are yet to get started," Aric said. He flipped the blade, the blood dripping off it as it spun. He grabbed the blade and stabbed the same place, digging it deeper. He pulled it out and did the same thing.
Gorin roared in pain over and over again. After a while, Aric stopped stabbing, then without hesitation, he stabbed Gorin in the eye. Gorin let out a horrendous roar, his throat croaking as the pain shot all over his body.
Aric pulled the blade out and then healed Gorin of every wound, fixing even the eye.
"I have a very, very deep mana pool. I can do this for a very long time, with each set getting worse and worse. So I’ll ask you again, will you tell me what I want? Or will you continue to fight against it?
You know all this could be avoided if you told me where your crystal is and let me remove it," Aric said.
"I have no crystal. He didn’t put any control crystal in me. I am the only goblin that my master didn’t put any crystal in for control," Gorin said.
"And why would he do that?" Aric asked.
