Chapter 72: 070 Tonight, you take the initiative.

"Can you stop bringing this up all the time? Can you be a bit more rational, Atlas?" Charlotte leaned against him, her breath enveloped in his scent, a dangerous yet alluring aroma that surged forward, trapping her inside.

"Am I the one bringing it up? Or is this what you truly think?" Atlas took the cup from her hand and drank from the spot she had sipped from, seriously asking as he looked at Charlotte’s somewhat angry face.

This was somewhat of a professional habit; every penny in her hand needed to be used to the fullest extent without letting her down. It was also the reason "Currency City" was so successful, though it seemed she couldn’t tell Atlas about this yet, because the timing wasn’t right, and also because she truly had the thought of breaking away from the Hallow Family.

The deeper reason Charlotte herself didn’t dare to explore too thoroughly; actually, in her subconscious, she feared that one day, when both she and the Miller Family were under attack, her small capability would become a defensive shield.

"I don’t have any particular thoughts; fifty million may mean nothing to you, but to me, it’s a huge investment. Besides, Luna is my sister. I can’t let her recklessly use money borrowed so easily, resulting in adding many troubles for my parents in the end." Charlotte clearly stated her stance. She hoped Atlas understood she didn’t want the Miller Family to bear too much burden, as the family’s entire situation was already not good. Fifty million might become the last straw that breaks the camel’s back.

"Why don’t you hope for something good, like your sister’s investment succeeding?" Atlas found it amusing; was this little girl worrying too much? She didn’t seem to have faith in Luna’s investment from the start.

"It’s not that I don’t hope for the best, but... you wouldn’t understand." Charlotte couldn’t bring herself to criticize her sister in front of others, but Luna really was unreliable in business matters, and her intuition told her this investment would definitely face issues.

"You don’t trust your sister, do you?" How could he not understand? Atlas took Charlotte’s hand, the slender back of which seemed almost translucent, tempting him to bite it lightly, leaving a mark of his teeth.

Charlotte winced in pain, he said she was like a dog, but wasn’t he actually the one who liked to bite?

"Knowing that, do you still need to ask? You’re not worried about your money being wasted; I’m worried Luna might be deceived. So, I must personally follow through with this to feel assured, alright?" Charlotte tugged at Atlas’s suit collar, speaking in a low, soft tone.

"When asking for favors, you have to show some sincerity." Atlas felt her soft voice almost made him flinch; his arms encircled her tighter, pressing her whole body against him, her long hair cascading down, its fragrance wafting into his nose, making him somewhat restless.

"What kind of sincerity do you want?" When Charlotte’s gaze met his, she saw his eyes revealing a trace of intriguing light from the boundless darkness, slowly sinking into her own eyes, hurriedly lowering her head, not daring to look at him again.

This man had terrible eyes that could read her thoughts, like an incredibly precise scalpel, dissecting her inner self and leaving no secrets hidden.

"For example, tonight, you take the initiative." The man’s voice grew even lower, his large hand gripping Charlotte’s slender waist, kneading it lightly.

"You know I don’t have much experience," Charlotte said with difficulty, taking the initiative in this matter; she couldn’t relax, nor did she know how, even though she may have seen pigs walking, she’ll never be able to take the initiative with him.

"So I’m losing out a little, letting you be a test subject, does that make you happy?" Atlas’s lips curved into a knowing smile; no matter how clever this girl was, she’d eagerly jump into the pit if he dug a small one.

Charlotte was stunned by his words; she, taking the initiative, should be happy? Wasn’t he the one who should be happy?

How could this man be so shameless? Is he still the Atlas Hallow, known among employees as meticulous and particularly strict?
