Chapter 173: 114 I guarantee for her_3
"Does President Hallow not knock? You startled me." Charlotte Miller was placing Rowan Diaz’s documents on the desk, getting ready to take a good look at how these financial companies operated domestically.
"So timid? You weren’t like that just now." Atlas Hallow sat on the sofa in her office, stretching out his long legs as he gazed at Charlotte’s focused face, his voice low and gentle.
"He’s not you." Rowan Diaz, though direct, didn’t pose any threat to her.
"I didn’t think you’d be afraid of me either." Atlas Hallow patted the seat next to him, signaling her to take a break.
Charlotte Miller sat over, leaving a little space between them, yet in the intertwining of their breaths, it seemed like they were intimately close.
"How’s it going? Can you handle it?" Working abroad and working domestically are two different realms; he was a bit concerned about Charlotte. Not doubting her capability but worrying she’d feel stifled in such an environment.
"There’s nothing I can’t handle. Besides, you’ve vouched for me. I can’t let President Hallow down, can I?" Atlas Hallow’s endorsement during the meeting left her a bit stunned. It seemed like she and the entire Hallow Clan Group had established a partner-like relationship, where a question from the client side needed assurance, and the president himself vouched for her. It sounded illogical, yet it unfolded right before her eyes.
After the meeting, Ava Walker followed those executives into the elevator. Rowan Diaz stood somewhat dejected at the back and, upon reaching the executive dining area, merely took a plate and went to eat in the furthest corner.
The meeting today had clearly been difficult for him. Everyone knew the unusual relationship between Charlotte and the president, and he straightforwardly raised a question. Yet Rowan Diaz never expected Atlas Hallow to support a woman to such an extent.
How could she possibly issue financial products and provide all the funds needed for the project?
Where would a woman get that kind of power? Could it be Atlas Hallow had external funds and was using her hand to enter the Hallow Clan aiming to take full control? Various speculations spun in Rowan Diaz’s mind. What’s most frustrating is that he had already committed to strongly recommending two of them, but now it seemed there was no chance at all. Atlas Hallow would not even meet those investment banks.
"Manager Diaz, would you mind dining together?" The woman’s voice across from him was somewhat charming and appealing. Looking up, Rowan was surprised to see it was Ava Walker.
"Manager Walker, you’re too kind..." Everyone knew Ava Walker’s status; she was Junior President Hallow’s wife, considered an important figure within the group.
Ava Walker sat down, looking at the middle-aged man across from her. He had shown some courage to openly confront Charlotte during the meeting, which suggested there was a hidden agenda. Regarding the issuance of that huge financial product, it was quite a lucrative piece. Even if Rowan Diaz couldn’t personally have a share, he probably planned to loop in outside contacts to handle it, which was why he had presented those proposals.
"About today’s meeting, Manager Diaz, don’t dwell on it too much. I also think President Hallow’s mood has been a bit off lately. But we still need to bear with it since Secretary Miller is quite favored right now." After saying that, Ava Walker, as if recalling something, added with a smile, "And now, we can’t call her Secretary Miller anymore. President Hallow, along with an external company, has set up a new department within the Hallow Clan, managed by Charlotte. I hear half of the top-floor presidential office area will be allocated for her office..."
After her words, Ava Walker’s smile deepened.
