Chapter 127: 102 Can I not care about your matter?_2

A jealous woman is the most terrifying, and she despises them the most. She would never become such a woman.

So after sending off the entire Miller Family, she had no worries. If she ever discovered that Atlas Hallow and Hailey Hill had solidified a romantic relationship, she would leave without hesitation, despite the unique feelings she had for him.

Betrayal is the last thing she wishes to see in a relationship between a man and a woman.

Charlotte Miller still doesn’t believe that Atlas Hallow genuinely likes or loves Hailey Hill. She trusts her intuition. If Atlas really liked Hailey that much, he wouldn’t have married her.

Gray fog envelops the entire city, as if it were a prank by the gods, watching as men and women slowly attract each other yet remain wary of one another.

Love and conflict always go hand in hand, inseparable like shadows.

Atlas Hallow wonders about Charlotte’s thoughts, while Charlotte cautiously makes every move like a strategic game, in sync with offense and defense.

"From now on, you can tell me anything. You need to know that the man you married is capable of doing anything for you." Even now, Atlas felt a bit oppressed inside, but he forced himself to swallow the frustration lingering in his chest.

He almost despised himself for this. In all these years, he had never said such things to a woman, yet Charlotte seemed completely indifferent, even ungrateful. The girl was so stubborn, but he didn’t want to break the beautiful edges not yet worn down by harsh reality.

He hoped she would keep her personality but also hoped she would rely on him utterly, listening to and obeying his every word. Even Atlas didn’t know what he truly wanted from her.

"It’s precisely because you have the ability that it’s unnecessary. If such a small thing required you to take action, it would be too wasteful." Charlotte smiled, her gaze falling on Atlas’s face, watching as the hostility in his eyes slowly dissipated. Only then did she secretly let out a sigh of relief.

Being with this man required every bit of vigilance; any slight misstep could lead to utter ruin.

"Then what would require my help?" Atlas’s fingers tangled in Charlotte’s hair, lightly sniffing a strand that carried a faint rose fragrance.

It seemed as if he couldn’t catch her like this, yet he held her lifeline in his hands, a feeling Charlotte struggled to adapt to.

She had already been marked by Atlas Hallow, an invisible label blatantly clear in places unseen by others. A man with such a strong desire for control might be calm now, but it didn’t mean he wouldn’t erupt in the future.

It was precisely because he was overly calm that it was most terrifying.

The most explosive and destructive volcano is always silent, and when it erupts, there is no time for anyone to escape, only to be engulfed by the scorching lava and devoured by that fiery, terrifying liquid.

She didn’t want that, which is why she had to remain extremely cautious.

"There’s nothing at the moment. Do you really wish I’d have big troubles just so you can showcase your abilities? I’ve never doubted your capabilities." Charlotte’s lips curved into a light smile as she leaned against Atlas’s chest.

She stopped overthinking, and though it might be a bit like covering her ears to steal a bell, she accepted it.

His scent was nice, his chest firm and strong, making her feel very secure when she leaned against it.

But the safest place is often the most dangerous. Charlotte knew this but indulged in this feeling as if enchanted.

Her petite body came closer, like a soft cloud enveloping him. Atlas Hallow released the strand of hair he was twirling around his finger and wrapped his arm around her, greedily inhaling the rose scent on her body. "Every man has the desire to be a hero saving a beauty, so when will you let me fulfill that?"

"In matters like this, it’s better if you’re not fulfilled. The moment you are, I’m doomed," Charlotte sighed, her fingers gently tracing his chest as she spoke.

Charlotte sighed, knowing this man had many untold secrets—dangerous ones—but she found herself uncontrollably falling for him.

If the Miller Family members were all in a safe place, she would burn relentlessly with him. Perhaps she’d love, perhaps she’d hate, but she hoped for it all. In her youth, she hoped for a love that was intense and transformative.
