Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 69: Doesn’t like women

Chapter 69: Doesn’t like women

As Lord Barlin realized that Draven was standing behind Rhea, his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. He was already at the mercy of the wife, and now the husband was here. Trembling, he managed to speak, "Th-there is no cure for it..."

Rhea was taken aback for a moment, as if finding his words funny, she began to laugh. There wasn’t a cure? Then she’d have to restrain herself from killing this man today. "You had the guts to buy a potion even though you knew it had no cure you still used it on me?!"

"I...I wasn’t thinking, I was too desperate because you’re the woman I like."

Lord Barlin’s words only served to further infuriate Rhea. "Curse your entire lineage, from your ancestors to yourself!" she seethed, clenching her teeth in anger. With a surge of fury, she delivered another kick to his groin. "If you had the audacity to drug someone, at least ensure you hit the intended target! Look at who you’ve gotten, you imbecile!" she pointed at Draven.

Draven was once a powerful dragon king, who’d been stripped of his immortality and powers by his former lover. He was now condemned to seek vengeance and wreak havoc upon the human race once regaining his powers. Were it not for the bond between them, he would not spare her a second glance nor show her any kindness. Being forced to desire such an emotionless person was the worst punishment on earth. Rhea would rather indulge the lust for Lord Barlin, as it would grant her a better life and the status of a lady in Birhhan. She could attend prestigious events and flaunt her wealth in the faces of her arrogant sisters, she’d also live in a grand mansion where servants catered to her every need.

Wouldn’t that have been a far superior existence than being bound to this vengeful creature? She was already tied to him by the core, but now she would once again find herself yearning for him like a lost puppy.

Rhea moved aside and grabbed Lord Barlin’s collar, she pulled him up and said, "Take me to the madame Seraphina, I’ll ask her about the cure myself."

Lord Barlin hurriedly waved his hands in protest, "No, no, you...you can’t go there. I told you all these matters are confidential, there are guards all around the place you’d get in trouble if you’re not identified as one from the circles. And when I bought it, I was already warned that there was no cure. Going there would only put you and I in trouble."

Rhea paused and glanced at Lord Barlin, who appeared hesitant about returning to the store. He quickly reiterated, "You mentioned that you are married to this man with blue eyes. Since you two are already married, the potion’s effect shouldn’t be a problem since he is your husband. You can do it with him all day."

Rhea rubbed the space between her eyebrows to alleviate the throbbing pain she felt. Would it be considered a crime if she were to eliminate this useless Lord Barlin now?

"Rheanna, please don’t take me to the store. They do not allow strangers at this time. The store would be filled with Santino guards who are likely occupied with bringing in the new elixirs. Only officials, higher-ranked nobles, and fire controllers are permitted to enter," he said in an attempt to dissuade Rhea from taking him there. However, his words caused Rhea and Draven to simultaneously look at him.

Draven was the first to inquire, "Did you mention elixirs?"

As if Lord Barlin had just realized his slip of the tongue, he quickly pursed his lips and remained silent. However, Rhea gave him a warning glare. "Speak up. Do you have knowledge of the elixirs made with dragon essence as well?"

Lord Barlin hesitated for a moment, but knowing he would receive another kick if he didn’t answer, he promptly nodded. "Yes, it’s being sold in the store."

"Do you know where these elixirs are being made?" Rhea asked again, but Lord Barlin shook his head, "No, no I don’t. I just know that the Santino’s are the ones selling it."

Rhea sighed in frustration, before releasing the man’s collar. "Alright, I will let you off, but if you mention my presence in the capital to any of the Villden household members..."she made a gesture to her neck, "I will snap your neck with my bare hands, and let your father know that you told me about the confidential information."

Lord Barlin bodded his head up and down. It was clear he was terrified of the people involved in this business, he wouldn’t dare go against her words. Rhea continued, "And from now onwards, I don’t want to see your face ever again."

Lord Barlin subconsciously shrank backwards, "I won’t bother you ever again. You’re no longer my type of woman, and I won’t tell your family you’re in the city." He remarked, before limping away in a hurry.

Draven spoke from behind. "Let’s go to the store and investigate."

"No, not yet. There’s no rush; I need to clarify something beforehand. Let’s return to The Den Of Pleasure," Rhea pondered softly. However, she momentarily forgot about the impact Draven had on her and turned to face him. Their gazes locked for a brief moment, causing her face and body to flush with heat. Quickly averting her eyes, she exclaimed, "I warned you not to look at me! Get out of my sight!"

Draven contemplated retorting that she had been the one to look at him first, but instead chose to remain silent and walked away from her.

The pair returned to The Den Of Pleasure. They went straight to Aria’s room. Despite the fact that it was already noontime, Aria’s room was still dim as the curtains were still covering the windows, with a faint scent of incense in the air. Rhea knocked on the door before entering the room with Draven. The door creaked softly as they stepped inside.

Aria was still laying on her plush bed covered in silk sheets. She stirred when the door opened, her delicate curves accentuated by the scant clothing she wore. As she sat up, a soft smile danced on her lips, but it quickly turned into a frown when she saw Rhea entered with Draven.

Aria’s voice was laced with playful annoyance as she said, "You know I don’t wake up early, yet you brought a male to my room."

Rhea chuckled, without bothering to glanced at Draven she said, "This man? He is not interested in women, rest assured he’s not bothered by your little clothing."

"...!" Draven heard what Rhea said, but remained silent, she wasn’t wrong. After what happened to him in the past, every single fiber of his body had turned immune to love and desire. The only emotions and feelings he had recently was from the connection that passed to him from Rhea’s feelings, which had also led him into kissing her back earlier, which he still felt disgusted about. Apart from that, even if the most beautiful woman in the world stood before him, he would only see a person and nothing else.

However, Aria seemed to have misunderstood Rhea’s words, and gave him a knowing look, "Oh so that’s the case. Too bad we don’t have men to satisfy you in our building."

Aria’s remarks only made Draven felt the urge to struggle Rhea to death. She consistently spoke without considering the consequences. He glared at Rhea and cleared his throat in a state of embarrassment before averting his gaze.

Aria moved to the edge of the bed, her movements fluid and graceful. She reached for her silk robe, draping it over her shoulders with effortless elegance. As she rose from the bed, the robe slipped slightly, revealing a glimpse of her smooth, flawless skin.

Aria strolled over to the balcony of her room and arranged three tea cups on the table. She then motioned for Rhea and Draven to join her, saying, "Please come and have tea with me." Once they were seated, she looked at Rhea and inquired, "By the way, I heard that Lord Barlin paid you a visit this morning. What happened?" Her curiosity evident in her voice.

Rhea sipped from the tea before replying, "That idiot drugged me with an aphrodisiac potion that has no cure, but he made a huge mistake and caused me to lust after this emotionless man instead."

Aria raised an eyebrow in wonderment. "So, you allowed Lord Barlin to leave just like that?"

Rhea scoffed in response. "It wouldn’t be my style to let him go unpunished. However, I released him because he provided us with valuable information regarding the elixirs."

Aria was about to sip from her tea, however, those words made her hand slightly froze. She raised her eyes and rested her gaze on Rhea, "I see..."

"He also told me that the Santino’s were the owners of the store where the elixirs were being sold."

Aria didn’t reply and simply resumed to sip her tea.

"Aria, correct me if I’m mistaken, but Valen Santino is your man, and his stepfather Edmund Santino is the owner of the store where the elixirs were being sold. Is that the reason you’re unwilling to assist us in this matter, because the person you have feelings for is implicated?"

Draven, who had been sitting quietly was taken aback by Rhea’s words. If Aria was related to one of the Santinos, shouldn’t they be keeping all these information they discovered away from her? Then why was this parrot mouth telling her everything even after knowing these?!

Draven wanted to shut Rhea up, he tried to talk to her through their connection to avoid giving out too much information, but the girl was too busy talking to concentrate on the connection.

Aria listened to Rhea, then let out a small laughter. "Rhea, even though I warned you not to involve yourself in all this mess, you still went ahead with it. No matter what you say, I don’t want to be a part of this. It has nothing to do with you and I."

Upon hearing Aria’s words, Rhea’s expression became serious. "This matter has a lot to do with me. It concerns the people of Birhhan, my family and Azure. Aria, you know me. Despite the terrible things these people did to me, they are still my family, and Azure meant a great deal to me. Regardless of what you say, I want to stop this and know who is involved in it and why they are doing this."

Initially, Rhea’s only purpose was to free Aedan and the children again. However, after hearing what this block headed dragon had said yesterday, she couldn’t allow him to harm innocent humans for someone else’s actions. She needed to ensure that even though he’d harm people, it should be the guilty ones not the innocents, and also make sure to protect Azure from getting in Draven’s list of targets once he got his powers back.

"You are unpredictable, Rhea, one moment you hate your family, another moment you stand up for them." Aria said.

Rhea pursed her lips."Who said I’m standing up for them? I just want to walk in the right path of Justice for the innocent." She muttered.

Aria’s attention turned to Draven, who hadn’t spoken a word since. She then said to Rhea, "Didn’t you say you’re under a potion? I don’t see you reacting to your sweetheart’s presence, but seem to care about your family’s affairs. Is the potion uneffective?"

"Hell be damned! It’s effective, whenever I sense his presence or look at him, I just want to take him to bed!"

Draven’s lips twitched slightly, as he felt rather burdened by Rhea’s audacity to utter inappropriate words without hesitation. He placed a hand on his throbbing temple, "Hopeless case." He muttered to himself in distress.
