Bound To The Ice Dragon King -
Chapter 68: No cure
Chapter 68: No cure
After Draven left the room, Rhea didn’t immediately follow behind as she knew the moment she set her eyes on him, the potion would take effect again. She paced around the room in distress.
"I’m doomed!" She exclaimed angrily, "Rhea you can do it, just step out and avoid looking at him until you find the antidote." She told herself, their current situation wasn’t something they’d play with. They had to find the establishment where the elixirs were being made and stop this for good or else...
Rhea’s expression turned troubled as she recalled a memory of the conversation she had with Draven last night after they returned from the banquet. He had said he’d wipe out the human race after getting back his powers. As a human herself, she couldn’t simply sit still and let that happen. Even though there were evil ones among the humans, he couldn’t possibly kill everyone for just one person’s wrong doing. Thus, the sooner they find the establishment, the better it would be.
It took Rhea almost half an hour before she finally stepped out of the VIP room. She composed herself as she went in search of Draven in the building. She was anxious of meeting him and feeling the overwhelming desire again, however she pushed it down and looked around until she was told he was waiting for her outside the gate.
Rhea exited the gate and immediately spotted Draven outside. He appeared to be waiting for her, facing the street with his back to the gate, hands tucked in his pockets. He effortlessly exuded attractiveness, resembling an Adonis simply by his stance. The sunlight poured down on the streets, accentuating his already strong figure. His black hair cascaded down his back like ink, swaying with the occasional breeze.
In that moment, Rhea’s body heated up and her heart started pounding rapidly in her chest. She quickly averted her gaze from him, exclaiming, "Oh dear, I can’t handle this intense desire."
She took a deep breath before approaching him, however she made sure not to look at his face and said, "Um... Lord Barlin would be at the gambling hall at this time of the day, it’s not far from here, we can walk there."
Rhea had the intention of changing direction and starting to walk, but her plans abruptly changed as she accidentally glimpsed Draven’s face. As she observed him, her eyes widened in realization: he had a black mask covering his face, adorned with demonic teeth. This sight left her speechless. The only feature of his face that she could see were his piercing blue eyes, which stared at her intently. He then spoke, saying, "I decided to wear this masquerade mask until we get the antidote, as its effects are only triggered when you come face to face with my eyes."
Rhea didn’t know wheather to laugh or be angry. Didn’t he just said she would only get effected when looking at his eyes? Then why in the name of Heavens was his eyes still visible under the hideous mask?
This dragon must be joking! What was the use of the scary mask when she could still see his eyes under it? The sight of the mask alone was enough to give her nightmares. Rhea quickly looked away from him. "Take off that hideous mask right now!"
"...!" Draven restricted himself from getting annoyed and simply said, "Didn’t you say you don’t want to get affected by my presence?"
"Yes, I said that. But you should have just cut off your head or covered your entire face and body. What is the point of wearing the mask when I can see your eyes?!" Rhea pointed a warning finger at him while still avoiding his gaze, "I swear to the Heavens, don’t blame me if I rape you under the influence of this potion, it’s already so hard to control, but you keep showing me your eyes, I won’t hesitate to take you to bed if you show your eyes to me again!"
Draven gritted his teeth. He realized when facing someone as shameless as Rheanna, he unexpectedly didn’t have an ability to ward her off. She was like a wild seed, so bold and... stupid.
Draven let out a sigh and complied with her request, removing the mask. Without hesitation, he tossed it aside onto the street and turned to face Rhea. The disheveled strands of hair on his forehead danced in the wind, while his pale blue eyes resembled a clear, blue sky. He arched an eyebrow and asked, "Are you happy now?"
However, as Rhea continued to gaze at him, an unsettling feeling crept back into her. Her face flushed with embarrassment, and she quickly averted her gaze. "You know what? Forget it. I’ll just walk ahead of you. Just try not to breathe too much, so I won’t notice you or feel your presence," she hurriedly began to walk ahead, as if she were being pursued by the hounds of hell.
Draven stared at Rhea’s disappearing figure in disbelief. For a moment, a sigh escaped his lips. He didn’t know wheather to cry or laugh, he had lived for centuries upon centuries, he had met countless people, but this was the first time he was seeing a lust stricken girl’s reaction be so exaggerated and... honest. She was shamelessly straightforward and too bold for a human female.
"Unbelievable." He muttered.
Rhea crossed the street, her face, extremely flushed and drawing attention from those passing by. If any fire controller with a keen sense happened to pass her, they would likely smell her arousal even from a distance. Disregarding the stares, she headed towards the gambling hall. The more people looked at her, the angrier she became. Rage coursed through her veins, and as soon as she entered the hall, she spotted Lord Barlin.
"LORD BARLIN! HOW DARE YOU!" Rhea exclaimed, entering without a care for who might witness her outburst.
When Lord Barlin turned his head and noticed Rhea approaching him like a vengeful spirit, he swiftly turned his head and called out to his bodyguards. "Ensure she does not get any closer, halt her in her tracks!" He had only just given his command, but before the men could prevent Rhea, she had already sprung forward and swiftly knocked them out.
The men in the hallway didn’t even have a chance to react as Rhea seized Lord Barlin by his collar and dragged him to a secluded corner. She forcefully pushed him to the ground and used her feet to keep him pinned down by applying pressure to his stomach. She squinted her eyes, demanding, "Confess!"
"Rheanna, please calm down. We can talk this through." He said with a nervous smile.
Rhea’s lips curled into a smirk, her feet positioned between his thighs. "So, you want to talk about this?" she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Don’t make me repeat myself. Start speaking or I will ensure you never have children in this lifetime."
Lord Barlin felt a lump forming in his throat, a droplet of sweat trickling down his forehead. He had heard stories about Rhea’s anger, but this was the first time he had witnessed it firsthand. Nervously, he waved his hands and stammered, "I...I purchased it just yesterday."
"Where did you get it from?" She asked.
"I..." Lord Barlin hesitated to speak, any items concerning the dragons in Birhhan were confidential, he could get killed himself by revealing it to someone outside the circle.
Rhea noticed his hesitation and didn’t think twice before kicking his crotch. He groaned in pain and tried to move away, but she pinned him down with her feet. "If you don’t speak, I will damage your little brother down there. Start speaking!"
Despite having only encountered this man a few times before, Rhea had been consistently irritated by his bothersome declarations of love and lecherous remarks. However, she refrained from disrespecting him out of fear that it would tarnish her family’s reputation during the royal officials meeting and result in punishment from her father. Due to that, every time she visited The Den Of Pleasure and saw him, she’d avoid him and return home.
However, this time, he had gone too far. Since her father had given her away to marry a stranger, Rhea no longer felt obligated to uphold the Villden reputation. She was willing to confront and beat up any fool who dared to overstep their bounds in the capital city, starting with this arrogant idiot.
After witnessing this aspect of Rhea, Lord Barlin felt a strong desire to flee, but he was unable to do so due to the feet she had planted on him. His body trembled and his crotch throbbed with pain, making him fearful of enduring another kick. "I...I will disclose everything. I purchased it from Madame Seraphina’s Emporium, Lord Edmund Santino’s second branch."
Edmund Santino.
When Rhea heard that name, her eyes narrowed. She was familiar with that name, it would be a lie if she pretended not to know that name. Edmund Santino was the Emperor’s advisor. He was in charge of managing Birhhan’s important affairs with the other realms, if he was involved in taking the dragons, it meant the Emperor was also aware of this.
Furthermore, the Santino’s were a relative of the Credan’s. Alina Credan. Why did it seem like everything had to do with this witch?
Rhea was about to ask another question when a deep, melodic voice suddenly spoke from behind her, asking, "Where can we find the antidote?"
Upon hearing Draven’s voice, Rhea’s legs went weak. The intense heat overwhelmed her once again, causing her to grit her teeth and angrily kick Lord Barlin. "Give me the antidote already!" She couldn’t handle living like this for a few more days; it would drive her insane.
As Lord Barlin realized that Draven was standing behind Rhea, his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. He was already at the mercy of the wife, and now the husband was here. Trembling, he managed to speak, "Th-there is no cure for it..."
