Bound To The Ice Dragon King -
Chapter 188: You killed her!
Chapter 188: You killed her!
Rhea and Lilac rushed back to the palace. Rhea was eager to see Draven because she had a lot to talk to him about, but the moment they stepped into the palace, she noticed countless people standing around the grounds, among them were the Princes wives and children. They all looked somewhat anxious.
When Rhea noticed Ethan, who breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of her, she quickly asked him the question she was burning to know, "Where is Draven?"
Ethan’s relieved expression vanished and was replaced with a solemn one, "He isn’t back yet. He angrily went out in search of you since yesterday, and he hasn’t returned."
Rhea felt her heart freeze at those words. She suddenly felt a sense of unease consume her mind. Draven had gone to look for her...
Draven would surely head to Alina’s main mansion to search for her, and if he didn’t find her there, he would most likely not come back until he searched all of Alina’s properties in Birhhan, and Rhea was sure he’d finally go to the other mansion where Alina had taken her with Enzo this morning, and if he went there, he’d come face to face with Alina. Meanwhile she had been taken by Azure.
With Draven’s current strength, if he faced Alina...
Rhea felt her heart tighten at those thoughts, "I’ll go back and find him," she turned on her heels ready to go back to Birhhan, however Ethan was quick to grab her wrist, "You don’t have to. My father and two brothers have gone after him, you needn’t go."
Rhea’s panicked heart began to calm down, but then another thought crossed her mind, "Did they leave at the same time?" She asked.
"No, Draven left first before them, because my father had to check on my sister to make sure she was fine before they went after him. And as you can see, they are not back yet either, and my brothers wives and children are also worried that’s why everyone’s standing out here." He explained.
Another sense of unease washed over Rhea. If they didn’t leave at the same time, Draven would be ahead of them and might even encounter Alina alone. Oh Heavens, save him from that evil witch! Rhea desperately prayed in her mind.

As everyone was anxious in the dragon realm, Draven was still desperately searching for Rhea’s whereabout. He had tried many times to track down the core or to use their connection to communicate with her, but it was useless, none of them was working. He couldn’t feel Rhea’s presence in him like he usually did.
Draven had searched seven of Alina’s properties but they were all deserted with no guards or fire controllers in sight. However, there was only one property left for him to search, and it was her mini mansion located in a desolated area. To avoid drawing the attention of any fire controllers in area, he hadn’t bothered to transform into his Dragon form, he simply walked through the open gate as there were no guards.
The thought that Rhea was in Alina’s mercy scared him even more than anything. He couldn’t tell if Rhea was still alive or dead_No! he didn’t want to think of the latter, he wouldn’t be able to handle the thought of her being dead.
Rhea had saved him many times, she had recklessly stepped forward and protected him without a second thought; she had used her hand to hold a sword from reaching his heart, she had used her sword to protect him. But whenever she was in danger, he was always too late to save her from any harm. However, he hoped and prayed he wouldn’t be late this time around...
Draven had just reached the middle of the deserted mansion grounds when he saw Alina stepping out of the mansion, holding Enzo’s hand right behind her. But when she noticed him, she stopped in her tracks, a cold glint flashed through her eyes, but then as if she thought of something, a mocking smile graced her lips.
"Draven, did you come here to die as well?" She asked with a smug expression. Knowing that Draven probably had no idea that Rhea had been taken by her foolish friend, Azure, Alina wanted to provoke Draven to his death so she could take back the scales he’d taken away from her Enzo before she tracked down where Azure had taken the girl.
Draven felt a jab at his heart when he didn’t see Rhea behind Alina, his blue eyes narrowed, "Where is she?" He demanded coldly.
Alina’s expression turned indifferent as she moved her gaze away as if the mention of Rhea was something unimportant, "I killed her," she lied.
When Draven heard those three words, for a moment he thought he heard wrong, as he couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t until those words resonated in his mind for some few seconds did he grasped their meaning. Then, immediately he felt his heart sank into despair. The pain clutched at his heart in a way he thought he’d suffocate to death.
Draven’s breathing become hard. The pain in his heart intensified, and he suddenly wished he had died at the hands of Alina twenty years ago than heard those words.
The pain of his loss surpassed anything he had ever felt in his entire life. He had never known the pain of losing a loved one, but now he knew.
Draven’s eyes burned with tears. Alina had killed Rhea...
Enzo, who stood behind Alina looked at her back in disbelief. He had been asking her about Rhea since the time she came to take him out, but she hadn’t replied him. He hadn’t thought she had killed her...
Alina saw the pain in Draven’s blue eyes and felt immensely pleased with herself. She then continued to add to his pain by saying the things she had wished so badly to do to Rhea before Azure took her away, "I used my dagger to rip her chest open and pulled out the core. I watched her cry your name and begged you to save her as I cut her limb by limb, but you never came for her until I burned her into ashes with my flames." Alina made a face, "Poor thing, she loves you so much but you caused her death. She’s dead now and you will never see her again, Draven El-Dezeus."
For a moment, Draven felt all his limbs go weak, he could barely stand on his two feet as the image of Rhea dying in Alina’s hands flashed through his head. Slowly, he helplessly fell on his knees as hot tears rolled down his eyes, and his throat burden with emotions. He had failed to protect Rhea, he had caused her death, it was his fault she was dead now...
A silent sob slipped out of his lips as he pressed a hand to his aching heart. He didn’t care that he was in front of his enemy, he was too consumed by the overwhelming emotions to care. The scenes of his moments with Rhea flashed before his eyes.
He remembered when she had recklessly blocked the shadow stalker attack from hitting him, and the time she used her hand to hold Oriana’s sword from piercing his heart. He also remembered when she fearlessly fed her blood to him at the red moon night. He recalled the kisses he’d shared with her in the healing pool, and just a few days ago she’d slept on his bed in his room, and in his arms. But now...
Rheanna had loved him enough to stay by his side despite the danger, but all of a sudden she was taken away from him before he could tell her how much he loved and wanted her to remain his forever; she was taken before he could tell her how much he wanted her in every possible way. He had failed big time in life by causing her death.
Draven felt his body had no more strength and no more will to live. He had lost the only person close to his heart, and the only person he had just realized was the reason he wanted to take revange and confess his love to her and make her his wife and build his family.
However, after feeling powerless, he felt a deep grief burned into his heart, raging into anger. He lifted his head and looked straight at Alina. His eyes had turned red from grief and anger. He pushed himself to his feet, hands tightly clenched on both his sides.
"You killed her, Alina, and I will make you pay double!" He would not allow Rhea’s death go unavenged.
"You want to kill me?" Alina laughed, "You couldn’t do that twenty years ago, and you will never be able to do so now!"
