Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 115: Revealing his identity

Chapter 115: Revealing his identity

Ethan calmly nodded, aware of the consequences that awaited him in the king’s chamber for venturing into the human world without his father’s knowledge. He promptly trailed behind the guards, but halted when he overheard a soldier speaking from behind.

Curious, Ethan turned around and noticed several soldiers blocking the path of Draven and Rhea with their spears. Rhea, standing beside Draven, appeared startled and hastily questioned, "We came with your prince, why are you stopping us?"

One of the robust soldiers glared at Rhea, causing her to flinch momentarily before regaining her composure. With a hoarse voice, he sternly declared, "You cannot enter the royal palace without revealing your identity," he directed his words towards Draven, who still concealed his aura behind a mask.

The soldiers found Draven suspicious due to his concealed aura, making it impossible for them to discern his true identity. They were reluctant to take any risks when it came to their royal family, as they were extremely protective of their bloodline. Even though they came with their prince, they couldn’t allow an unidentified man enter the palace grounds.

Rhea understood this, so she turned to Ethan for assistance. However, the prince scowled and stated, "We have strict regulations here." He then glanced at Draven and commanded, "Remove your mask, or you will not be permitted entry into the palace grounds." He said this in a slightly authoritative tone, as he had been seeking an opportunity to demonstrate his superiority over Draven, who had dared to challenge him in the human world with his inferior eyes.

Rhea raised a brow in astonishment at Ethan’s rudeness towards Draven. It seemed that this prince had some sort of issue with Draven. However, she noticed that Draven was hesitant to take off the mask, thus she thought that trouble would arise if he removed the mask.

Rhea glanced at Draven and was about to suggest finding another place to stay if the soldiers refused them entry. However, before she could even speak, Draven swiftly took off the black bracelet from his wrist.

He then handed it to her, saying, "You will need it more than me in the Dragon realm." As she was human, it was advisable for her to conceal her human aura and blend in with the Dragons here, Draven thought.

As soon as Rhea took the bracelet from his hand, his Dragon aura began to slowly drift towards the soldiers carried by the wind. Everyone froze in place as his overwhelmingly powerful aura reached them.

Ethan’s eyes rounded in astonishment as he recognized the few dragons’ who could possess such strong aura. Only a mighty dragon could have this overwhelming presence to them, "The imposing aura..." He muttered, "Who are you?"

Draven coldly looked at the soldiers who were blocking his path, "I am Draven El-Dezeus, the king of the Draconia clan, and I demand entry into the east clan palace."

The soldiers glanced at each other in dismay. They dared not try to stop him from entering again. Even though they’d heard the history of the Draconian clan, and knew that the king was the cause of his clan’s downfall, they made way for him to pass as his aura was overwhelmingly terrifying to stay close to him.

Despite the fact that the soldiers have moved out of his way, nobody made any attempt to lead the way, they stood frozen in place with their heads slightly bowed in respect.

It was Draven who spoke first, "Shall we?" He snapped them back to their senses.

Ethan was still standing shock as he couldn’t believe this man he’d been looking down upon was an ancient king, the same age as his father. Oh Heavens help him he hadn’t dared to challenge him to a fight. Ethan wasn’t even a hundred years old, he was still a young Dragon in his fifties!

Ethan snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed Draven was staring at him, he quickly ordered the soldiers to move it. He then acknowledged Draven with a slight bow before he started to walk forward.

As they began to walk in the vast courtyard towards the huge palace gate, Rhea noticed how silent everyone were, they dared not walk ahead Draven, despite the fact that he had deliberately tried to stand back several steps for them to walk ahead, they still stood behind with their heads facing down as they walked. Even Rhea could feel their discomfort. She then tugged at his sleeve,

"Hey, since they already allowed you to enter, how about you take back your mask bracelet? Your aura seems to make them nervous."

Draven looked down at the bracelet Rhea was holding out to him, he then nonchalantly said, "Let them get used to my presence, I don’t need the mask here. Wear it instead."

Rhea simply wore the black bracelet that tightened around her wrist and blended into her skin. She then gazed at Draven’s striking side profile, admiring his prominent nose and thick lashes that gracefully framed his eyes. He appeared like a completely different person, even in the way he walked, exuding confidence and authority akin to a king. Now that he had returned to the snowy terrain, his complexion had turned extremely pale, his lips took on a deep red hue, and his sharply defined jawline was held high. Goodness, this man was exceptionally beautiful for a man.

When her eyes shifted back to his lips, she felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach as she remembered about their kiss on the day she consumed that potion. She recalled how he had embraced her tightly. She knew it was only because the potion had also affected him; otherwise, he would never have done so. The two times they had kissed were out of necessity, and it was unlikely to happen again now that he was reverting to his former self. There would come a time when he would no longer require her presence once he regained his Dragon form. And the thought of that alone made her heart ache for some reason.

As if sensing her intense gaze from the corner of his eye, Draven’s lips curved slightly. "If you continue staring at me like that, you might end up tripping. Look where you’re walking."

Caught off guard, Rhea hastily averted her gaze, her cheeks flushed with warmth due to embarrassment. After a moment, to clear her embarrassment, she spoke, "Now that you’ve removed your aura mask, won’t it alert Alina that you’ve retrieved your powers and come looking for you again?" She asked, unaware that Alina was fully aware that Draven has regained his powers until he told her.

"She’s already aware of it." He said curtly.

"What? When?" She asked in astonishment as Draven had never mentioned to her about the message Alina left for him.

"The day I retrieved my powers..." Draven fell silent as he thought back to Alina’s message she’d left for him, his jaw thightened. Alina didn’t care what he was planning to do, she only cared about what was in Rhea’s body. His core.

"She already knew that I’m taking back everything since the day I undid the seal in the border town."

"She knew?!" Rhea exclaimed, "Then what if she comes back looking for you again?"

Draven coldly laughed, "I am not afraid of her." He slightly narrowed his eyes, "she doesn’t care what I’m up to, nor does she care if I’m planning to get revenge on her. What she desperately wants is the core in your body." He sneered, "just like decades ago."

Decades ago, she wanted to dig out his chest and remove the core, but now, what she wanted was in Rhea’s chest. Not that Alina was targeting Rhea now, but the moment she found out, she’d come after her and do anything in her powers to dig out the core. Draven was resigned to what happened last time.

But this time, he absolutely would not let Rhea be subjected to what he faced in the past. He would protect her with everything in him. In his entire life, he had never felt the urge to protect someone like he felt for this troublesome young lady.

"Draven," Rhea called his name, and almost immediately he turned to glance at her, "if Alina is truly as you described, with no conscience and no fear, then why did she leave in such a rush? And why did she leave her pet behind to protect your powers?"

Draven remained quiet as he listened to Rhea. She continued, "Her pet is a dangerous creature, and she left numerous guards as well. Besides, if you were alone, it would have been difficult for you to regain your powers..."

Draven gave her a questioning look, and she explained, "In my opinion, Alina is terrified of you. She’s afraid of your vengeance and didn’t want you to revert back to your former self, the powerful dragon king."

Upon hearing Rhea’s words, Draven felt a surge of warmth fill his heart and melt away the coldness. He smiled, "When you put it that way, it’s surprisingly hard to conceal my joy."

He wanted Alina to be scared, let her fear his revange. Let her live in dread. Believing in what Rhea said made him find a shameful comfort. Just she wait, this was just the beginning of his revenge. He was going to demand back those twenty years of suffering stroke by stroke.

Draven walked beside Rhea with a faint smile as he couldn’t hide his happiness for what she’d said.

Finally, they reached the grand entrance of the palace. As they approached, the massive gate automatically began to open, revealing a breathtaking sight that made Rhea’s breath catch in her throat. The gate, made entirely of shimmering ice, seemed to melt away as it parted, revealing the magnificent ice palace beyond.

Rhea’s eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. The palace, resplendent in its icy grandeur, seemed to sparkle like a diamond under the pale moonlight.

Rhea’s jaw dropped in surprise, unable to tear her gaze away from the breathtaking beautiful palace that stood tall before her eyes. This was where Ethan lives...no wonder he was a brat, she’d never seen anything as huge as this palace.

While Rhea was admiring the palace, she noticed numerous beautiful young women approaching Ethan and expressing their respect by bowing to him. Based on their appearance and Ethan’s instructions to lead the both of them to the guest rooms, Rhea deduced that they were likely maids.

Ethan turned back to glance at Draven, but his wariness of Draven remained evident as he avoided direct eye contact while speaking. "It’s getting late now, so you can go rest. Tomorrow, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the king," he stated. "The servants will bring dinner to your rooms. Rhea," he turned to address her specifically, "I’ll arrange for someone to check on your wound tonight, and tomorrow you can see a royal doctor. Good night." With that, he turned and walked down the hallway alongside his guardian.

"My prince, now that you’ve brought back a human and a dragon king who caused their clan’s downfall to our clan, how do you plan to explain this to his Majesty?"

Ethan shrugged and said, "Why does it matter? He’s a powerful king, my father wouldn’t dare refuse his stay here. They will discuss it tomorrow." The two of them disappeared down the hallway, their voices fading away.

Rhea, who overheard their conversation, couldn’t help but feel concerned. It was true that Draven was believed to be responsible for the downfall of his own clan. Would this clan really accept him without any issues? Plus, when Draven was a king, he was even more powerful than the current king here. This wouldn’t be an easy situation for him.

Rhea turned to look at Draven, but noticed that he appeared calm. Well, if he wasn’t worried, then she shouldn’t be either.
