Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 112: Escape with the Dragons

Chapter 112: Escape with the Dragons

Oriana noticed that Draven had stepped forward and closed his eyes. Internally, she scoffed at his stupidity for closing his eyes in front of someone who was trying to kill him. This made things easier for her, as she was more than willing to get rid of him and Rhea. Oriana raised her sword, ready to attack again, but Cal hurriedly stood in front of her to stop her. Before Cal could even form a sentence, he suddenly felt a shift in the atmosphere.

A chill ran down Cal’s spine as he turned around and saw the building shaking, as if it was about to collapse. Everyone became alert as they witnessed chairs and tables in the eatery levitating, and plates and bowls shattering. The rooftop was torn away.

Without warning, ice blades appeared in front of each of the fire controllers. One wrong move and they would be stabbed to death. None of them dared to move as the blades pointed at their chests. The atmosphere grew frigid and icy.

Upon witnessing the scene, one of the fire controllers nervously exclaimed, "Dragon blades!"

Before those words could fully register, the blades began their assault. The stronger people fought back against the blades, while the slower ones were pierced in the chest. The inn was filled with cries of pain as some had their clothing and hair torn, and the unfortunate ones had their heads swiftly severed.

Rhea watched in horror as people fell lifeless around her. She weakly glanced at Draven, who remained unaffected, his eyes closed as he controlled the blades. Normally, she would have stopped him from attacking innocent people, but with her face feeling as if it were burning in hell, she helplessly observed the fire controllers suffer before them.

Suddenly, Oriana’s scream pierced the air. Cal, who stood beside her, turned to see a blade slicing across her face, from her forehead to her chin. Blood began to trickle down onto the floor.

Cal became increasingly frightened as he witnessed the blade instantly disfigure her face. Through Cal’s widened eyes, Oriana caught a glimpse of her own reflection. Despite her continuous screams and the blood seeping from her face, she attempted to touch the cut with a trembling hand, only to cry out in pain once again.

"My face!" she wailed.

"My lady!" Cal exclaimed in alarm, but Oriana, wracked with pain, hid her ruined face. "Sound the alarm, gather the others, and eliminate them both!" she commanded the terrified fire controllers, bending over to conceal her disfigured face.

The fire controllers looked at the calm Draven in utter terror. They were astounded by his ability to conjure blades out of thin air without any physical movement. He controlled everything with his mind. They had never encountered a dragon like him before and were hesitant to attack recklessly.

Draven’s eyelids slowly parted, revealing his gaze directed towards Oriana, who remained crouching down hiding her disfigured face. His expression was rigid and icy as he uttered, "You had the guts to ruin my girl’s face; now you shall also experience her agony."

The act of Oriana commanding her sword to sever Rhea’s cheek deeply wounded Draven to his bones, and he would not take it lightly. Even in his days as a king, he never allowed anyone to harm those dear to him; he followed the principle of an eye for an eye.

Rhea, still dazed, raised her eyes to meet Draven’s face. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized he had truly defended her. Although she hadn’t expected him revealing his true identity as a dragon by using his powers, he did it for her sake. It was the first time she had witnessed him utilizing his powers, as well as witnessing him slay people with his dragon blades. He didn’t even have to lift a finger to strike them down, yet he attacked.

Rhea was aware that Draven had not fully regained his powers yet, but this small ability was enough to amaze and frighten the remaining five fire controllers, out of the more than ten that had arrived earlier. Her two sisters were unharmed, as Zoorah had fainted a while ago, while Dalia hid in a corner, trembling in fear. Cal also stood beside Oriana, his expression filled with shock.

Rhea couldn’t help but think to herself that a dragon king was certainly not someone to be underestimated. Suddenly, dizziness swept over her, but she fought to maintain her balance as she observed more fire controllers rushing into the chaotic inn.

Oriana, who had been concealing her face, noticed the fire controllers approaching and swiftly commanded, "He...he is an outcast, take them down!"

The small inn had been filled with hostility. And the fire controllers had been terrified to attack Draven, but when they saw that more of them were coming in, they all began to take position. They began to circle Draven cautiously.

Draven’s gaze swept over the fire controllers, his eyes momentarily settled on Cal, who still didn’t attempt to take position with the rest, he just gazed at Rhea blankly. Although, Draven had used his powers to defend Rhea awhile ago, fighting this much fire controllers would surely exhaust his human body, but then he was still determined to protect the girl who had risked her life countless times to protect him. He used his hand to protectively push Rhea behind him,

"Stay behind me, I won’t let anyone hurt you again." He whispered softly. Just as Draven said those words, another figure came to stand protectively beside Rhea. He turned to look and saw it was the prince of the east dragon, Ethan, who had been watching the scene from upstairs the entire time.

His eyes locked with Draven, the young prince frowned deeply as he still didn’t like Draven, but then he still had to stand beside him to protect Rhea from these fire controllers. However, seeing that the fire controllers were swamping the building, he whispered, "We can’t fight them alone, you guys should come along with us." He offered.

The prince’s guardian, Nino, couldn’t help but frown as he heard Ethan offering. He grabbed his arm, but the prince shook off his arm and said, "Uncle Nino, transform and get us out of here before they attack."

Nino anxiously glanced at the fire controllers circling them and preparing their combined attack to bring them down. If he really didn’t transform now and get the prince out of here, it would only be matter of minutes before they’d finish combining their powers.

Ethan urged the man in a hushed voice, "Hurry up uncle Nino!"

Nino stepped back and closed his eyes, immediately following that, a cloud of cold fog rose in the air clouding everyone’s vision. It filled the entire inn. In the chaos, Oriana’s pain filled yet calm voice yelled out from where the fire controllers stood, "Dragons! Don’t panic, stay in position!"

Before they knew it, Nino began to transform. His dragon scales shimmered with a radiant blue, reflecting the flickering flames that danced around the eatrey. Its icy breath hung in the air, freezing the heat that once consumed the inn.

Rhea didn’t even have time to react or gather her thoughts when she felt Ethan’s grip tightened on her wrist, without giving her a chance to decide, he pulled her towards the creature. The dragon lowered its head, allowing them to climb onto its back, its scales cool and smooth beneath her trembling hands. Rhea’s heart raced in fear as she settled into her perch.

With a powerful beat of its wings, the dragon launched itself into the air, shattering the remaining remnants of the inn’s roof. Rhea clung to the dragon’s back, feeling the rush of wind against her face as they soared higher and higher, leaving the chaos and danger behind.

As they ascended, Rhea weakly stole a glance below, witnessing the chaos and confusion of the fire controllers left in their wake. She hadn’t had time to relax when she tensed up again, "Where is Draven?!" She anxiously looked below as if she’d jump off the dragon if Draven was left behind, but then she suddenly felt a strong arm come around her waist from behind, and a head leaning close to her ear, before she heard his deep voice whispered, "I’m right behind you, relax."

Rhea only relaxed after hearing his voice. However, as soon as she relaxed, the dizziness she had experienced earlier returned, and her face started to hurt. It felt as though all her strength had vanished as she let herself fall backwards and rested against Draven’s chest. She wanted to enjoy the view from up here, but her dizziness and pain left her feeling completely drained.

"It hurts a lot..." She whispered softly, attempting to touch her cheek, but Draven quickly grabbed her wrist. She frowned and slightly moved away from his chest to look at his face. She noticed that he was gazing down at her and said, "Your hands are dirty, don’t touch the wound."
