Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 103: Are you jealous?

Chapter 103: Are you jealous?

The next day, Rhea took Draven along with her to the store, where she wanted to get some money before she’d head over to her new residence. She couldn’t leave empty handed, and since Valen was kind enough to give her this much as a reward, then she’d take it.

The store was located in the town’s market street, it was the biggest store among the rest in the streets, with two bulky men standing guard at the entrance. Rhea noticed that all the nobles entering were being stopped and questioned.

Rhea and Draven were no expectation, when they walked towards the entrance, the bulky men extended their hands to stop them, "What’s your business in the store?" One of them questioned with his hoarse voice.

Rhea simply took out a piece of paper and handed it to them, "I am here to take some things with the permission of Lord Santino."

The men took the paper, and when they saw what was written on it, they froze for a moment, and immediately withdrew their arms and took few steps back and bowed, "We have been expecting your arrival, My lady."

Rhea was slightly startled as they bowed to her. So just a single paper can cause such an effect? No one had ever treated her with such respect before, being addressed as a lady...that was the first.

Rhea put on an act of a lady, she straightened her posture and nodded, "You may rise." She permitted, then glanced back at Draven, who stood three steps away from her.

From the smug smile on her face, Draven could tell she was trying to show off to him, but he just stared at her blankly. He had received this kind of treatment many times in the past, it wasn’t something new to him. He didn’t care whether they bowed to him or not. He causally walked past her and entered the store.

In comparison, the moment Rhea entered the store, the storekeeper fluttered over and bowed to the waist, "My lady, you’ve finally arrived. We have been expecting you ever since his lordship had informed us of your arrival."

Rhea nodded awkwardly as she wasn’t used to the respect they were showing her, "Yes, I am just here to get some money, I won’t be staying long."

"Oh yes, of course. " The storekeeper hurried to say, "Perhaps, her ladyship would like to rest in the VIP waiting room for a moment before I get the money for you. That is if you don’t mind?"

"Sure, lead the way." Rhea replied. She allowed the storekeeper to lead the way to the VIP room. But she had just taken a step forward when she heard the familiar voice from last night speak. His voice sounded a bit furious.

"How is this possible! She has been missing for weeks now, what if my sister is in danger?!"

"You brat, stop with your negative thinking. The princess is smart enough to avoid getting caught, she probably went far away with her human husband." Spoke the elderly voice.

Rhea turned her head to the direction of the voice. Right at the entrance was a young lad, with dark blue eyes and a middle-aged man by his side. They both wore hats to shield them from the harsh sun descending on them. The teenage boy stood proudly, his chest pushed front, his nose in the air.

What the heck!

Rhea narrowed her eyes on the boy’s face. She’d never thought she’d ever come across this idiot again. It was the same dragon boy she’d released among the first children last year, the same young dragon who blushed at her mere touch.

Turned out he was a prince of the east dragon clan. No wonder he stood out from the crowd of dragons, he was taking responsibility as a royal dragon.

Rhea’s gaze rested on the boy’s face for just moment, but then he just happened to turn towards her direction at the same time. Rhea quickly hid behind Draven’s broad frame to avoid inviting trouble. This young dragon was nothing but pure trouble, she recalled how hard it was to get him off her back the last time she released the dragons. She didn’t ever want to come face to face with him again.

Draven, completely oblivious to her intentions of hiding behind him, simply stepped aside as he was also looking at the young prince with a calculative expression.

The moment Draven stepped aside, the prince’s blue eyes fell on Rhea, "Ice crap, I know that lady, she’s the one!" He exclaimed loudly while pointing, drawing everyone’s attention to Rhea.

Rhea quickly hid behind Draven again as all eyes fell on her for no reason. But this time, she held onto Draven’s shirt so he wouldn’t move aside. This Prince was still too young to understand that not every lady that touched you is in love with you, or is interested in you.

The prince hurriedly began to approach Rhea, but thankfully the middle-aged man behind him held him back, by holding his robe. "Your Highness," his voice was quite but extremely stern, "That woman is a human with a messed up aura. Don’t just point and walk to humans just like that. Let’s leave this place."

Rhea who heard the middle-aged man’s words, sighed in relief. At least he wouldn’t approach her again. She cleared her throat and stepped out from behind Draven, but then she heard the prince say, "She’s different from others, I know her." He shook off the man’s hold on his shirt and walked towards Rhea and blocked her path from leaving with the storekeeper.

Rhea sighed in frustration. Oh young man, you should listen to your elders and don’t approach people just like that. She thought to herself.

Despite being younger than her, the prince was taller. She had to lift her head in order to meet his gaze. He had a slim build and feminine characteristics, appearing more feminine than masculine. Rhea thought, but he carried himself like he owned the place with his confident stance in front of her.

"We meet again, Miss. I’ve been searching for you all over Birhhan, but now I finally got to find you. Fate finally brought us back together." He said, using a bold and proud tone, that looked mismatched with his appearance.

Rhea helplessly sighed at the prince’s words. She then shot Draven a look, but then he happened to be looking down at her with a deep frown. She didn’t know why he was staring at her like that, but then it made her feel slightly uncomfortable. It almost looked like he was judging her with that frown.

The storekeeper took the invitation to perplexingly speak, "Should I continue to lead the way?"

The storekeeper’s words caused the prince’s eyes to brighten, "Do you work here in this store?"

Rhea cleared her throat and solemnly gazed at the young prince with an emotionless face. She imitated Draven’s manner of speaking to people he had no interest in and replied flatly, "I don’t know who you are, young man. Maybe you’re confusing me with someone else."

The prince was astonished by her indifferent expression and tone. His lively face faltered briefly before he frowned, "I am not mistaken. I didn’t get the chance to ask for your name last time, but I can never forget your face. Since the day I met you, I have been picturing your face in my mind over and over again."

Rhea was taken aback and glanced at Draven once more, who continued to gaze at her with a complex expression she couldn’t comprehend. However, she gave him a look that conveyed, ’And you claimed young dragon hearts couldn’t be easily swayed.’

Rhea kept her calm and replied with the same tone as earlier, "You got the wrong person, young man. I don’t know who you are." She said, and then turned to the storekeeper, "Can you tell this man to please excuse us and that I’m not the person he’s looking for?"

The storekeeper promptly nodded, "Yes, her ladyship is not the person you’re looking for, you must have mistaken her for someone else." The poor storekeeper had no idea what was going on, he was simply just saying what the lady had asked him to, as he didn’t want to offend his master, who had ordered him to give and do anything she wanted.

The storekeeper was very glib, with just a few phrases, the prince was stunned silent. He actually started to think he truly made a mistake, he had misunderstood the face of his crush for someone else. But then, her image had replayed on repeat in his mind, but yet he couldn’t remember what she actually looked like.

The middle-aged man beside the prince, started to urge him away, and after some moment, the man was able to pull him out of the store.

Rhea heaved a long silent sigh of relief, she didn’t want anything to do with another dragon. She then turned to the storekeeper, "What were these two doing in a store that deals with women’s accessories?"

The storekeeper hurriedly put up a smile and replied, "My lady, this store doesn’t only deal with women’s accessories alone. Behind our store, there’s another compartment for a fortune teller. Those two were probably here to get a reading done, as for who they are, naturally we don’t dare to pry on our costumers privacy."

Rhea nodded in understanding. The two probably came here to find out about the princess’s whereabout from the fortune teller. She thought.

The storekeeper resumed guiding them towards the VIP room, but Rhea halted her steps as she noticed Draven wasn’t trailing behind. She turned to face him and noticed the strange expression on his face, unable to pinpoint why he appeared that way until he unexpectedly blurted out, "How many other men are interested in you?" Without thinking through his words.

Rhea frowned upon hearing his words, "Draven, if I didn’t know you better, I’d say you looked and sounded just like a jealous husband... could it be that you are really jealous?"

Those words were like a sharp slap to Draven’s face, his face thightened, and his expression turned back to his usual emotionless one, the strange look on his face disappeared without a trace. "You are overthinking it," he brushed past her while saying, "That isn’t something I would ever do in this lifetime."

Rhea pursed her lips, she internally agreed. Draven did say in this lifetime, he would no longer be infected by love again. Actually, someone who had experienced emotional betrayal before, wouldn’t be easy to love another again.

Furthermore, if Draven was still able to love someone again in the future, then that person would be as charming and dazzling as him, she would be a beautiful lady with manners of a noble or royal, and had a respectful background.

However, all those qualifications didn’t not fit her at all. She would be the last person a king would love or get jealous if another man spoke to. Perhaps, if she didn’t possess something of his, he would treat her like he did to every other woman he took as a person and nothing special.

With that thought, Rhea’s hand subconsciously pressed against her chest.
