Chapter 275: Stolen?
Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Stolen?
Because Blake’s eyes weren’t on her.
They were on Aurora.
Diana felt like she was about to explode. Her fists clenched at her sides. Her face turned red with anger and panic.
Suddenly, her mind spun with one desperate idea.
"She... she STOLE my code!" Diana shouted, pointing straight at Aurora.
Everyone froze.
The laughter from earlier vanished.
Aurora blinked and turned toward her slowly. "Excuse me?"
Diana bit her lip, but she couldn’t back down now. "You heard me! That’s MY code! You stole it and put it into your AI!"
The room filled with gasps.
Some students looked at Aurora, then at Diana. Whispers started to spread.
"Is that true?"
"Did she really copy it?"
"But I thought Diana didn’t even finish her own project..."
Aurora crossed her arms and looked directly at Diana.
"Why would I steal your code when you didn’t even finish your project?" she asked calmly.
Diana’s face twitched. "You... you must’ve seen it earlier! Maybe through the school system or something. I don’t know how—but you must’ve done something shady!"
But even as she spoke, her voice was shaking.
She knew she sounded weak. Desperate. And worse—fake.
The students around her weren’t buying it.
One boy raised his hand and said, "But didn’t you say she didn’t know the topic? Now you’re saying she stole it? Which is it?"
Another girl added, "And if she stole it... how come she explained every line of the code in front of all of us? You couldn’t even explain your own work."
Diana’s face turned even redder.
She turned toward Judge Blake.
Surely he would help her... right?
But Blake didn’t even look angry. He looked... disappointed.
"Miss Diana," he said quietly, standing up, "do you have any proof that Aurora stole your code?"
Diana opened her mouth... and then closed it.
Because the truth was—she had none.
Nothing. Zero.
Aurora took a small step forward and looked Diana straight in the eye.
"If you really think I stole your code," she said calmly, "then explain it. Every line. Every logic. Do it here, in front of everyone. And if you can, I’ll admit I stole it."
The room fell totally silent.
Some students even gasped. Was Aurora serious?
But when they looked at Diana’s pale face, they already knew the answer.
Diana couldn’t explain anything.
She didn’t even know the basics of the project she was supposed to complete. Her fingers clenched at her sides. She opened her mouth, then closed it again. No words came out.
Now it all made sense.
Aurora’s confidence... her calm face... it all came from knowing that Diana knew nothing. Not even how to fake it.
The students around the room started whispering again—only this time, they weren’t talking about Aurora. They were talking about Diana.
"I thought she was smart."
"She’s just been pretending this whole time."
"She probably cheated her way through everything."
Some students even shook their heads in disappointment. A few girls who had admired Diana during homecoming now looked embarrassed to even be seen near her.
Blake, the famous developer and judge, didn’t even glance at Diana anymore.
He turned his full attention to Aurora.
His eyes were glowing with curiosity and respect.
"That was impressive," he said. "How did you learn so much at your age?"
Aurora smiled. "Out of curiosity, I guess. I just liked playing with computers and wanted to know how everything worked."
Blake nodded slowly, clearly impressed. "Do you already have a mentor?" he asked.
Aurora raised an eyebrow and shook her head. "No. And I don’t really plan to have one either."
The whole room gasped quietly.
Did Aurora just turn down Blake Hensley?
He wasn’t just anyone! He was one of the top developers in the country! Students and tech lovers dreamed of getting a single reply from him online—Aurora had just calmly refused him like it was nothing!
But Blake didn’t look offended.
In fact, he smiled.
It was like he respected her decision.
He then asked, "Do you know any other programming languages besides Python?"
Aurora smiled again. "C#, C++, Java, Go, SQL, MongoDB... a few others."
The room went silent again. Some students looked like their souls had just left their bodies.
"Wait... all those?!"
"Is she even human?"
Blake’s eyes sparkled. "Let me ask you a question, then. An advanced SQL query—how would you handle multiple table joins with group filters across nested relationships?"
Without skipping a beat, Aurora gave the answer.
Clean. Detailed. Perfect.
Blake blinked a few times. He looked stunned.
When he was her age, he barely knew a few basic programming languages. Aurora had clearly surpassed that by miles. Trying to compare himself to her was like comparing a toy car to a rocket ship.
He finally reached into his pocket and pulled out his business card.
He walked over and handed it to Aurora.
"If you ever decide to start your own tech company," he said with a small smile, "give me a call. I’d love to work as your vice president. Seriously."
The whole room froze.
That was no joke.
A judge like Blake Hensley just offered to work under a high school girl.
Aurora looked at the card, nodded politely, and said, "I’ll think about it."
And that was it.
The students just stood there, stunned. One by one, the whispers turned into full-blown praise.
"She’s not just pretty... she’s actually a genius."
"She could probably run her own company now."
Even the teachers looked amazed.
But Diana... she was burning.
She stared at Aurora with pure hatred.
Her hands trembled.
Her teeth gritted.
Why?
Why was this girl getting everything?
Diana had money. She had influence. Her parents gave her everything. And yet here was Aurora, this nobody, stealing the spotlight like it was meant for her.
She wanted to scream.
Instead, she stormed out of the room, her heels clicking loudly down the hall.
She pushed open the bathroom door and paced around in circles, breathing hard. Her mind was spinning. She didn’t know whether to cry, scream, or break something.
Finally, she entered one of the stalls and slammed the door behind her.
She clenched her fists and was about to punch the wall when she heard two girls come in.
She froze.
Two pairs of shoes walked past her stall, and the girls started chatting.
"...I still can’t believe Diana accused Aurora like that."
"Right?! It was so embarrassing. She didn’t even know her own project."
"Honestly, if I were her, I’d be hiding under a rock. That was so bad."
Diana’s eyes widened.
She felt like something inside her cracked.
They were talking about her. About how weak she looked.
For the first time, Diana realized something.
She had been chasing Aurora like some desperate little puppy, trying to beat her, prove herself, grab attention. But that wasn’t what a high-risk, elite girl like her should do.
She was supposed to be above all this.
Why was she lowering herself?
Let Aurora play her little genius game. Diana had money, connections, and power.
She didn’t need to fight like some fool. She just needed a smarter plan.
A wicked smile slowly formed on her lips.
Diana stepped out of the bathroom stall, her heels tapping on the tile floor. Her eyes were sharp, and a smirk played on her lips.
The two girls standing near the sinks froze the moment they saw her.
"D-Diana..." one of them whispered, her face turning pale.
Diana tilted her head and gave them a cold smile. "Who gave you permission to talk about me like that?"
The girls looked like they were about to faint.
"We... we didn’t mean it!" the taller girl said quickly. "It was just... a joke! We were just talking!"
"Yeah," the other girl added, her voice trembling. "We didn’t think you were here—we mean, we didn’t think at all!"
Diana walked closer, her smile never fading.
The girls were so scared they dropped to their knees.
"Please don’t expel us," one begged, holding her hands together. "We’re really sorry, Diana. It was a mistake!"
"We didn’t mean anything bad, we swear!"
Diana chuckled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "You talked badly about me behind my back, and now you want mercy?"
The girls looked like they were about to cry.
"P-please," the shorter one sniffled. "We’re on scholarship. If we get kicked out, we don’t know what we’ll do... our families really need this."
Diana raised an eyebrow, pretending to think for a moment. Then she smiled wider.
"Well... I could forgive you," she said sweetly. "But only if you do something for me."
The girls blinked, confused. "What do you want us to do?"
Diana stepped closer, leaned in between them, and whispered her plan.
As the words left her lips, both girls’ faces turned ghost-white.
"W-What?!" the taller one gasped. "You want us to do that?!"
"That’s not right," the other one stammered. "We could get in huge trouble!"
Diana’s smile faded, and her eyes darkened.
