Born In Ashes: The Enigma
Chapter 59: Arkanis

Chapter 59: Arkanis

Azrael went out with Kael and Lia after receiving Ashara’s message.

As he stepped outside, he saw Ashara sitting inside a hover car.

She was wearing blue jeans with a black top and a long red jacket... And for obvious reasons, the clothes she wore were not selected by herself. After all, her fashion sense...

Silas stood outside the hover car, talking to her.

Azrael and Kael walked over to them, and Azrael smiled after seeing Ashara.

"Big sister, you look absolutely beautiful."

Ashara rolled her eyes at Azrael’s words and motioned for him to get in the car.

Silas was stunned when he heard Azrael calling Ashara ’big sister.’ He looked closely at Ashara, and seeing her slightly happy face, he reached enlightenment.

’So this is another way of making women happy,’ He thought to himself and smiled as well.

"Sister, take care of yourself and let me know if something happens," He said with a charming smile on his face.

Hearing Silas, Ashara’s face stiffened. She turned to look at him with narrowed eyes and asked coldly.

"Since I am your sister, are you soon going to introduce a sister-in-law to me?"

Silas was stunned when he heard Ashara’s cold voice and looked at her in disbelief.

’This naked discrimination...’ He wanted to file a complaint that he wasn’t being treated fairly, but seeing that Ashara was still looking at him, he laughed dryly and quickly changed his words.

"What are you talking about, honey? I was just joking."

Ashara didn’t look away immediately, and after a few short seconds, she finally spoke.

"Don’t think I don’t know you always secretly get the private numbers of the clients we meet. If you dare to bring a vixen into the home while I’m away, I will burn you down to the molecular level when I come back."

Silas nodded like a chicken and didn’t dare to say anything.

"Beautiful sister, let’s go," Azrael said to Ashara and then looked at Silas with a smug expression.

"Take care, Dad."

Silas looked at his ungrateful son with eyes filled with resentment and didn’t say anything.

"Mom, brother, bye-bye!" Kael waved his hand at them, while Lia bowed slightly.

Ashara smiled at Kael and, after looking at Silas expressionlessly, pressed the accelerator, and the hover car shot forward.

In the Aetherion Expanse Galaxy, Veltharia is the most prosperous planet. As a result, the main branch of the Federation of the Aetherion Expanse is located on this planet.

Since Azrael lived on Veltharia, he didn’t need to put too much effort into going to the Arkanis Planet, where the Slayers Academy is located.

Silas had already prepared everything, and Ashara and he just needed to go to the main branch and take the cross-galaxy teleportation formation.

"Mom, I heard Arkanis Planet used to be a dead planet, but when the Federation found the entrance to Eonrift there, they completely transformed it. Is it true?" Azrael asked Ashara as they drove.

Ashara nodded at Azrael’s question.

"Yes, the environment on Arkanis used to be very harsh and wasn’t suitable for people to live on. But when the entrance to Eonrift was found there, the top executives of the Federation took action and completely transformed it." She paused, then continued.

"Now Arkanis is one of the most important planets in the Human Federation. Not only is there the Slayers Academy, but to improve the quality of the academy, there are many training grounds created for students all over the planet. As of now, about 70% of the planet’s area is part of the academy, with lots of places for students to hone themselves."

Azrael listened carefully to Ashara’s words and nodded.

The Star Dust Galaxy, where the Arkanis Planet is located, is far smaller than the Aetherion Expanse.

There are very few planets with life in this galaxy, and because this galaxy is close to the borders and also has an entrance to Eonrift, the Federation maintains very strict control over it.

After about an hour of driving, Azrael and Ashara reached the main branch of the Federation.

When they stepped out of the hover car, a man wearing a neat suit quickly approached them.

"Lady Ashara," He bowed respectfully, "The teleportation formation is ready. You can use it anytime."

Ashara nodded indifferently. "Lead the way."

The man nodded and led them inside the tall building, which had nearly one thousand floors.

Azrael followed and looked at the towering structure with curiosity. Since this was one of the most important places in the entire Aetherion Expanse, he was sure that the building wasn’t ordinary.

As they stepped inside, a reception area with different counters came into Azrael’s view.

The man did not approach any counter and directly took Azrael and Ashara to floor number 501 using the lift.

When the lift door opened, Azrael found himself in a corridor filled with many rooms, each sealed behind a closed alloy door.

He looked at the doors and noticed that every door had a name written on it.

He read a few names and immediately realized that they were the names of different planets.

Soon, the man brought Ashara and Azrael in front of a door with "Arkanis" written on it.

The man pressed his hand on the lock, and with a clicking sound, the door opened.

Inside the room, there was nothing except an altar-like platform with a complex formation engraved on it.

"Please," The man gestured for Ashara and Azrael to step onto the platform.

Ashara took Azrael with her and stood in the middle of the formation.

She grabbed his hand, and a warm layer of cosmic energy enveloped him.

"You will feel heavy discomfort because of the long-distance teleportation. But bear with it," She reminded him, and Azrael nodded.

Seeing his response, Ashara looked at the man and nodded.

"You can begin."

Hearing Ashara, the man immediately took out a card and inserted it into a gap on the side of the altar. As soon as the card entered, the formation beneath Azrael and Ashara’s feet began to glow.

Azrael grabbed Ashara’s hand tightly and activated the Cold Blooded trait to its full power, knowing full well that his head would soon be spinning like he had been thrown inside a washing machine.

"Have a safe journey, Lady Ashara," The man said as a silver glow burst out from the formation, enveloping Ashara and Azrael... and in the next second, both of them disappeared from the room.
