Chapter 756: Chapter 164: The Flame Crane Has Followed the Cloud’s Shadow to Obscurity_2
Who has the time to consider others in a melee? With Helen’s war song and dance in combination with the two Pier high priests, it equated to having four high priests boosting a mere three hundred Fellyndri troop’s War Song Halo. The negative Power of Curse and the inherent magical powers from the demons and the Magical Beasts were powerless in front of the Fellyndri militiamen who intermittently shone under the four-fold "Alina’s Banishing Song". As a Ring Spirit, the Winged Pegasus returned to the sky to provide "Crystal Brilliance" aerial fire support and unleashed devastating close-range magical attacks.
The Salt Frost Giants and Bato Demons, despite their size, had no advantage against the Fellyndri militiamen. Strengthened by the "Sacrifice Scroll", every Fellyndri man briefly gained "Fire Immunity" and the ability to burn souls. The Crown Thorns Armor’s special design, combined with the terrifying strength of the Fellyndri militiamen, made these Bimon warriors not appear as heavily armored fighters, but rather, agile thieves. The Salt Frost Giants’ salt spear and the Bear Warriors’ halberds compete in a ranged battle, with the Bear Warriors who are skilled in spear throwing giving the Salt Frost Giants a lesson in what real projectile weapons are.
One side is flesh, the other is iron; one side is disciplined, the other is an unruly mob; one side is strong, the other is stronger; one side is fierce, the other is ferocious.
The gap is certain. In front of an army representing some of the bravest troops across the Aegean Continent, the Magical Beasts had no time to prepare their magic attacks. All they could do was instinctually bare their fangs and claws to fight these towering warriors resembling spiky hedgehogs.
The Fellyndri warriors were noticeably quicker than the Antelope Warriors. With their Overlord leading the way, three royal behemoth knights Fat Luo, the Sword Spider Knight Iverson and the Earth Badger Knight Vieri followed closely. With Vieri’s and Fat Luo’s Turtle Shield and the poets armed with formidable kite shields protecting the flanks, they could swiftly cut into the enemy’s ranks. Once inside, they quickly dispersed into smaller groups for vertical ambushes. This tactic, where the local majority allows the Fellyndri militiamen to swiftly and decisively eliminate their adversaries, ensured both protection and the efficiency of the slaughter.
In pursuit of mobility, the flank-attacking mammoth and Cavalry still wore double-layered rattan armor, coated with blood glue. The toughness of rattan was comparable to steel, but it was not fireproof. Even coated with conch shell glue, it had limited use against the overwhelming fire-elemental Magical Beasts. Hence, this Heavy Armored Cavalry fully employed the high-level "Hiding in the Kick" cavalry tactics. The instinctual group charges of the Magical Beasts were primarily concentrated in the middle of the battlefield where they clashed with the Overlord himself. This allowed the Mammoth Heavy Cavalry at the foot of the volcano to encounter little resistance. After stepping onto the battlefield for some hundred yards, they were elated to employ a flanking maneuver. The unshielded and unsophisticated battle tactics of the Magical Beasts met a tragic fate under the trampling of professional Heavy Cavalry. Many of the Magical Beasts who were focusing on the charge were swallowed up by the diagonal spearhead charge coming their way.
The height of the Bato Demon and the Salt Frost Giants was perhaps comparable to the mammoths; the hulking mammoth riders, seated atop seven-meter tall platforms, towered over these adversaries, just like how human Heavy Armored Cavalry atop their warhorses would look down upon fragile infantry.
Proudly showcasing their strength through high-speed gallops, the Mammoth Cavalry jabbed their seven-meter long dragon lance heavily into the chests of the Bato Demons who were still waving their Flame Greatsword. The Salt Frost Giants’ salt spears were still forming in their hands, only to meet with swift decapitation by a passing greatsword. Korina roared wildly in battle, lifted the enemy on his spearhead, and flung them even further away.
Two squads of Mammoth Heavy Cavalry dragging bulky wood cylinders trampled over the crowd of Magical Beasts. The textbook standard tactical maneuvers came together as the two Heavy Cavalry forces merged into a zipper formation, leaving a striking field of blood red in their wake.
Under the command of squadron leader Korina, they charged back and forth. The Woolly Rhinoceros Cavalry, Earth Badger Cavalry, and Giant Bear Cavalry, who were slightly weaker brakes, came in from the opposite direction. They launched a pincer attack with the Fellyndri foot soldiers, trapping the horde of Magical Beasts in a pastry pocket. Meanwhile, Korina, along with eleven other Mammoth Heavy Cavalry, boldly launched a strike from behind the Flame Lord.
The Flame Lord Basturk was currently locked in fierce combat with Yitiao. Even though the Flame Lord Basturk had already cast a powerful "Meteor Shower" in the previous fight, theoretically, his strength should be weakening. However, Yitiao found himself without much recourse against him. After all, his opponent was the famously powerful "Flame Lord" Basturk!
Whether it be the Tide Lord, Abyss Lord, Snow Mountain Lord, or Cave Lord, these super-level Warcrafts titled as Lord represent the most formidable existence in their domain. However, Basturk is not a Flame Lord but a Flame Monarch, a distinction that speaks volumes.
Yi Tiao’s strategy of close combat also left Flame Lord Basturk unprepared but given that the Flame Lord Basturk was not like the young and naive Wind System Giant Dragon, Yi Tiao’s attempts to brawl using the Wolf Fang Club met limited success. When Yitiao lunged at the Flame Lord Basturk with lightning speed and attempted to hit him on the head with the Wolf Fang Club surrounded by electric fire, the Flame Lord Basturk’s blisters suddenly exploded. The scorching lava-like liquid spurted out like rain, bombarding Yitiao’s body.
