Boiling Beast Bloodline

Chapter 730: Chapter 158: Heart of Blood Feather_1

Just as the Fei Lengcui fellas were laughing and joking around with no regard for the pecking order, a distant voice belonging to Prince Moore came from outside the treehouse. The giant tree marmot lounging on the vine branch startled the prince with its deep roar.

Liu Zhenhan hastily tidied up their loot and ventured outside to quiet the boisterous marmot.

It wasn’t surprising that Prince Benitez wavered at a distance, hesitant to approach. At the entrance of the treehouse, a freshly spun colossal spider web hung on the vine staircase. In its center was a sinister looking sword spider sharpening its teeth, its serrated mandibles creating an eerie sound. Above the web, the giant koala bear stared at the distant Blood Elves with enormous eyes, saliva hanging loosely from its toothy maw, forming an almost unbroken glistening thread.

"My sincerest apologies!" Liu Zhenhan repeatedly apologized. "These beasts can’t always remain within the Hibernation Boundary of the emblem, I should let them roam outside periodically. I didn’t mean to alarm your highness."

At the command of their lord, the well-disciplined giant tree marmot swiveled its ample posterior and went back to munching leaves, ignoring Prince Moore. The Sword Spider was even quicker, reabsorbing its web and hurrying away, its eight legs stirring chaotically. It spat out a strand of silk, clambered up under the eaves, attracted to the roof and disappeared into the canopy.

"Sword Spiders are generally hostile toward Drow clergy. This one certainly knows its place." Prince Benitez ordered his followers to remain at the bottom of the treehouse. He alone ascended to the treehouse inn where Liu Zhenhan waited with a knowing smile.

Judging by the radiant smile on the prince’s face, it seemed he had moved past his rage at the loss of the waistband.

"I am a priest of the Bimon Temple, an overseer of the Night elves," Liu Zhenhan replied with a lazy yawn. "How did I end up lumped with the Drow clergy?"

Hearing this, Prince Moore Benitez couldn’t help but chuckle. He indeed tended to forget that the man before him was a Beamon priest. Despite not resembling the frail Beamon priests one bit, he was an exceptional one nonetheless.

Prince Moore and Lord Liu Zhenhan shot the breeze for a while, discussing trivial matters before the topic turned to how Liu Zhenhan became an overseer. Specifically, how he managed to survive the Rite of Ruin.

When the question came, Prince Moore’s bafflement was palpable.

Ever since the eight Drow Matrons announced the success of the Rite of Ruin and returned to the temple with a large retinue of elven priests, no one had any clue about what happened within.

The role of an Elven Priestess in Drow society was akin to human Priests, serving the Spider Queen and practicing medicine.

Every wisdom race in this world shared an interest in such secrets.

Liu Zhenhan was slightly puzzled inwardly. He knew the prince loved gossip, but Prince Benitez certainly wasn’t the sort to waste time on idle chatter.

As expected, after listening to Lord Liu’s simple description, Prince Benitez’s eyes lit up.

"Lord Richard, you can certainly use the esteemed title of ’Overseer’ and run for the highest authority within the Drow community as a ’foreign elf,’" The prince earnestly grasped Liu Zhenhan’s hands. "After our return to the surface, the Moore and Drow will surely form an Elf Union. Your contributions to the Drow, coupled with our backing, will guarantee a position of influence in the Elf Union."

"Hmm..." Liu Zhenhan beat around the bush, deflecting the proposition. He narrated the entire Rite of Ruin to the prince, keeping nothing hidden except the facts about the boundary. He even vividly relayed the shocking news of the Spider Queen Rose personally attending the rite. This was Liu Zhenhan’s usual tactic - presenting the truth in a way that would make it seem like a tall tale.

The unperturbed expression on the prince’s face proved just how successful Liu Zhenhan’s ruse was..................the most essential things are often overlooked.

"With you as part of the Drow hierarchy, we Moore would be more inclined to trust the cunning Night Elves a bit. The Moore Blood Elves consider you, Fei Lengcui, and the Bimon Kingdom as our best friends. With our combined strength and your prestige, we should be able to achieve our target. Besides... for us Moore, we would rather believe in you than partnering with the Swan High Priestess." Prince Moore bluntly stated his intentions.

The successful Rite of Ruin meant that it was only a matter of time before two fallen elf factions returned to the surface. The Drow had close ties with the Swan High Priestess, and the Moore didn’t want to fall behind, thus choosing him.

Are the Blood Elves planning to push me to the limelight and instigate a conflict, allowing them to develop independently? Or are these Moore Blood Elves genuinely in search of a strategic partner? Liu Zhenhan played dumb outwardly, while internally, he was winding himself up in knots.
