Chapter 678: Chapter 142 Negotiation_4
This time, both fallen elf divisions got serious. Neither the Difeng Giants nor the Antelope Men could anticipate this. They thought this time would be just like before and didn’t expect the opponents to be dead serious this time, to the death.
The dark elf army surrounding the Southern Lava Valley consists of fifteen thousand soldiers, backed by large supplies and logistics teams to sustain their consumption. They can afford prolonged warfare, but Difeng Giants and Antelope Men in the valley, defending the caves, absolutely couldn’t sustain a war of attrition. Though the Giants and Tauren have their food supply and won’t starve, the caves in the volcanic rock-formed valley certainly have no water source, with maybe just a bit of moisture attached to the rocks. Once these dark elves surround the valley and use siege tactics, within half a month, two thousand Antelope Men would be as good as dead — why would Taurens be a water-loving species from Bimon, right?
The Buer Tribe has an old saying taught by the elders, called "A Buer without water is forced to bow", indirectly expressing the Tauren’s dependence on water. How caring the Tauren elders are, towards the younger generation! If you won’t drink water, I will force you to drink by pressing your head down!
Other than Flame Mountain Valley, the three other valleys where Difeng Giants live do not have help from undead Minotaur Warriors led by Buer’s Soul Wanderers, just a bunch of mortal beings that need food and water to survive. With so many elderly, weak, women, and children weighing them down, if these Tauren are besieged for half a month, they would almost be as good as dead. Though Difeng Giants don’t need much water, ten odd giants couldn’t possibly withstand the onslaught of the Drow army in the end.
If the Antelope Warriors would charge out of the defended caves desperately, of course, it would fall right into the trap set by the dark elves. Though by doing so, the dark elf army would suffer severe losses, victory would be inevitable. Without the advantage of the terrain, even with their natural endurance, the Antelope Men couldn’t possibly endure this kind of attrition, let alone when their whole family is inside the caves, a breakout is impossible.
According to normal speculations, when this desperate situation befalls, the Antelope Men will probably be pretty dehydrated, regardless of how you look at it, this move by the Drow Elves is indeed a superb strategy.
Upon hearing the Lord explain this, the Antelope Warrior Duncan broke out in cold sweat.
But he soon put his mind at ease. This stout man, although simple-minded, knew the power of the ’Teleportation Magic Array’. Regardless of whether it’s the Southern or Western Giant Valley, if they were besieged by the dark elves, they would still be able to hold on for about a week. With Lord Richard’s generosity, loyalty, and capability, he need not worry about this issue.
"The amount of Mailman Crystals is not sufficient to create another Teleportation Magic Array. If you want to connect to the Western Giant Valley, you have to continue extorting the Koutao Merfolk." Ruona slapped Figo’s shoulder indifferently.
"I have some magical raw materials extorted from human kingdoms in my ring. Although they are not as good as Mailman Crystals, they would suffice for now. It’s really troublesome right now! If we reach an agreement with the fallen elves, we would still have to create two Magic Teleportation Arrays for them, and send them over to Kalimdo Plains... We should really replace that teleportation array in Faelor with a Mailman Crystal... these things are really good, I’ll leave it to Figo to handle. Regardless of whether it’s through extortion, theft or robbing, as long as you get it from the Koutao Merfolk, it’s fine." Figo nodded his head thoughtfully as he pressed his lips together.
"Why do you call it extortion? As a noble member of the sea, I have every right to impose a tribute on the conquered." Figo raised his eyebrows, holding onto his noble demeanor.
"Looks like they have a result on the other side." Daisy nudged Figo, who was about to speak and pointed with her mouth.
Under the huge blood flag, a Moore Elf, who was treated like the star among moons, walked up to Fat Luo with an air of authority. He said something to the mammoth strongman, who nodded. Then he led this seemingly very influential Moore through the stone bridge towards the northern bank. Many Moore soldiers wanted to follow, but were halted by the elf’s gaze.
"This guy sure has guts." Figo chuckled: "Looks like there’s some progress on this matter."
"They are certain that you won’t kill them." Daisy giggled.
Despite the visiting Moore elf’s stoic composure, he couldn’t help shivering as he walked past the Faelor militia— General Pan idly scratched at his heavy, violent stubble with the sharp claws in his hand. The Moore felt that the gaze of this Bimon warrior was even fiercer than the Bimon accompanying him.
Just as he was wondering about it, a large figure blocked his way out of nowhere.
"I am Prince Benitez from Moore. Tell me your name, Bimon." This Moore prince clearly didn’t want to exchange empty pleasantries with Richard. Instead, he got straight to the point.
"I am Richard from the Bimon Kingdom, Star Robe Priest. I come from the surface." Richard was also straightforward: "If you need to verify if what I’m saying is true, I can take you to the surface for a spin."
"That’s exactly why I am here." A trace of emotion finally appeared on the cold and handsome face of Prince Benitez from Moore: "I have clearly felt your sincerity in seeking peace and ceasing war. Now, I need to personally verify the truth of your words."
