Chapter 647: Chapter 136: Continuous Dark Moves _6

Four mages, including Moer, a Dual-Element (Water and Lightning) Mage, suddenly launched a forceful attack. Apart from the comparatively weak power of the Sirens’ Soul-Controlling Aura which at most resulted in a dazing effect, the other Feilengcui mages shone brightly. Initially, due to their limited vision, only Master Otigha’s "Sea of Flames" could cause random damage to some. However, their attacks soon became coordinated. Moer, a Butterfly Person from Yufrey with the Eye of Truth, wielded sea water in one hand and lightning in the other. While performing her attacks, she also directed the other mages regarding their attack positions, evidently becoming the leader of the mages. Five Hippo Poets, holding two shields, stood around the mages, watching them slaughter at a speed comparable to harvesting. The Feilengcui’s tradition of using close-range magic attacks facilitated more disastrous attacks on the packed enemies, but it also spelled bad luck for the mages if their front-line warriors couldn’t resist the enemies’ assaults. There probably hadn’t been a single army on the Aegean Continent that dared to boast about breaking through the Iron-Chain Formations of the Antelope Warriors instantly.

The Gray Dwarves, dressed in excellent armor, unfortunately encountered Fire and Electric magic. They were at a loss for words. Mage Ai Ling’s "Windstorm Spell" from Naga failed to lift Mammoth Warriors into the sky in the past, but it proved effective against the Gray Dwarves weighing two to three hundred pounds. Being lifted five to six meters up and then smashed down is a disaster for warriors in full armor. To make matters worse, some priests also joined the battle.

The Gray Dwarves could no longer count on the Cow-Eagle People to suppress firepower from the sky. Theoretically, aerial and ground forces collaborating would be brilliant. Unfortunately, at this time, the Cow-Eagle Warriors were being suppressed by their opponents.

The Feilengcui Militia were experienced veterans. Besides the Mastiff Warriors, who were a bit slow due to joining recently, others had already aimed their weapons at the Cow-Eagle People in the air after the Antelope Warriors attacked using curved blades.

It was a tragedy for the Wisdom Races to unhesitatingly slaughter their own kind. This was the case for every race. Before the battle, the Feilengcui Militia sighed at the thought of fighting the Cow-Eagle People (also Beamon). They seemed saintly and compassionate. However, on the battlefield, they did not show any mercy.

The Cow-Eagle People were embroiled in a difficult fight. The throwing spears of the Panda Warriors were much more lethal than theirs. Even in high-speed dives, the Cow-Eagle People found it difficult to dodge the accurately thrown spears of the Panda Warriors. The ninety-eight Mastiff Warriors using slings were not of much consequence. They essentially just randomly fired massive amounts of slings, chasing a moving target in the sky was difficult for them.

The most frustrating thing for the Cow-Eagle People was the insane toughness of their unknown opponents’ armor. Hippo Poets and Mammoth Warriors wore standard Feilengcui bamboo armor, infamous for its durability, with blood glue and a layer of natural rock-like skin underneath. Conceptualizing armor paired with rock-like skin could render one speechless. But the armor of the Mastiff People and Panda Warriors were even more impressive. The ninety-eight Mastiff Warriors wore full sets of heavy, scythe-like armor from the Pompeii Empire, while twenty Panda Warriors wore the Silver Base Armor of the Saint Francisco Empire’s Royal Guards. These armor types represented the highest craftsmanship of the two most powerful human nations in the Aegean Continent. The Cow-Eagle People’s focus of attack was on these annoying strangers. However, their two and a half waves of attacks only resulted in broken spear shafts scattered everywhere.

The Hippo Poets and Mammoth Warriors seemed to disdain the Cow-Eagle People in the air. Their flying axes and balls of stone were somewhat lacking in power for air defense, so these burly men simply turned their backs to the Cow-Eagle People in the sky. They could do whatever they wanted. They continued to throw stones and axes at the Gray Dwarves, who had cooled down from using the Invisibility technique.

The despicably cunning nature of Liu Zhenhan was reflected at this moment. Those Musketeers, who had been hidden, launched a fatal and heavy attack on the Cow-Eagle people. These unseen Musketeers were all stationed on several floating "Underground Suns," launching arrow rains from a high vantage point. Hiding on these hill-like stone masses, they had once sent the poor Golden Crows into a panic. Now, they were causing a panic among the Cow-Eagle People.

The ruthlessness and cunning of Feilengcui’s Lord really is indescribable. As mounted archers, these Musketeers didn’t have Nedved’s fear of heights. Their surprising battle-method led to an endless nightmare for all the Cow-Eagle People. The attack of these Musketeers was overwhelmingly effective. The Underground Suns, nests to countless Golden Crows, were impossible for anyone except the blind to gaze at closely. The light radiating from the Golden Crow feathers was subdued and soft. But if one looked at them closely, it would cause discomfort, followed by involuntary tears, making it impossible to aim accurately.
