Chapter 610: Chapter 129 - A Few Drops of Blood and Tears of a Fallen Nation, A Loyal Minister’s Heart Split by the Bright Moon_4
The Buer tribe is perhaps the most diverse among the Bimon races. The gold-haired Antelope Men, who rank higher in combat strength than the rhino warriors, used to be the strongest Buer warriors, but this was a thousand years ago. Today, within the Buer tribe, the number of rhino warriors is so scarce that they are even more rare than the giant elephant warriors of the Orephin tribe. The gold-haired Antelope Men are practically extinct. Now, the most formidable fighters the Buer tribe of Bimon can muster are the muscular and powerful yak warriors.
"So, it’s a Golden Ring Warrior," said Liu Zhenhan, his eyes lighting up. The Buer Tribe’s Tauren have a specific custom: only the acknowledged strongest warriors are entitled to wear a metallic ring on their nose. Currently, rhino warriors wear silver rings, yak warriors wear copper rings, and only the extinct Golden Haired Antelope Warriors had the privilege of wearing golden rings.
The five Antelope Warriors evidently didn’t know how to react, looking rather dumbfounded at the host of diverse Bimon warriors approaching.
"Is this how you react to a high-ranking family head?" Vieri roared indignantly.
"You are ... a Pier race Bear Man?" One of the bull-nosed warriors, sporting two golden rings, couldn’t believe his eyes as he stammered at Wei Heizi.
"Has a thousand years made you forget your manners?" Two of the Pier race Scepter Shaman scolded solemnly.
"Weren’t we Bimon expelled from the Kalimdo plains? How... how is it possible for you to come to the Underground World?" The Antelope Warrior’s eyes were wide as copper bells, "The underground storm is so fierce..."
"If we want to come, naturally we can! I ask you, what’s going on here?" Liu Zhenhan pointed to the Eagle Bull people on the ground, "You are part of Bimon, how could you start doing such lowly things? Where is your Chieftain?"
The Antelope Men appeared somewhat unnerved under this noble’s gaze, hesitating and not knowing how to respond.
"May I ask who you are first?" Dark Elf Trist emerged from behind the Antelope Men to question Liu Zhenhan.
"I am Lord Feilengcui of the Bimon Kingdom, Shaman Richard," Liu Zhenhan stated.
"He is a Double Dragon Shaman," added the two Scepter Shamans.
"I’ve already seen your star robe." The bull-nosed warrior with two golden rings bowed in respect, "Honorable star robe shaman, humble Buer warrior Duncan pays his respects to you."
"Answer my questions, what has happened to you? What’s the issue with these Antelope-Men?" Something in the pit of Liu Zhenhan’s stomach churned. A man’s sixth sense would not be wrong when it was triggered.
"Could I invite you to our tribe, we have to report to our elders about the arrival of distinguished guests," Antelope Man Duncan bowed again.
"Lead the way," Liu Zhenhan beckoned, instructing the militia to carry the subterranean natives onto carts. They then followed the five Tauren towards their tribe.
They walked for about half an hour before arriving at an underground staircase entrance. Antelope Man Duncan bravely led the way down. Liu Zhenhan had encountered countless staircases like this one, all of which sporadically sprayed threatening jets of fire, which he aptly named "fire wells".
Nonetheless, since the Antelope man ventured in first, Liu Zhenhan wasn’t overly concerned and followed suit. After walking down the winding stone stairs for several hundred meters, passing over several stone bridges soaring above molten lava depths, meandering through labyrinth-like tunnels, and crossing a cave door, they finally reached a campground spanning over a hundred acres. Just like the outside world, it featured a lofty dome-like sky, a dozen small hills, several murmuring streams, and several methane-like springs with blue flames. Tall animal hide tents unique to the Tauren stood scattered over this open plain. The sun hovered low in the sky, casting golden light onto a lonely totem pillar on the ground.
Except for Duncan accompanying Liu Zhenhan and his group, the rest of the Antelope Men had gone ahead to report their arrival. By the time Liu Zhenhan arrived, three to four hundred Tauren surrounded an old, frail Tauren elder, who stood outside a tent ready to welcome the shaman.
"Honoured elder, War Shaman Richard greets you," Liu Zhenhan intervened before the old Tauren could attempt to bow in respect.
"Noble Shaman, I am Tang Jin, an elder of the Black Rhino tribe," The elder Tauren’s golden hair had mostly turned grey, and deep wrinkles covered his aged face, but he remained vigorous. He personally greeted these high-ranking elites, and was very polite.
Helen and Ning Yu frowned. They felt that these Tauren showed less joy than expected at the sudden appearance of their Bimon brethren. Their reaction was completely opposite to that of the Butterfly Clan and Cicada Clan when Bimon returned home. To put it nicely, the Tauren seemed more reserved. But bluntly, they acted rather indifferent, as if they were burdened with countless unspoken grievances. Despite their respectful manners, they gave off an inexplicable peculiarity.
