Chapter 603: Chapter 128: Mysterious Love in the Blood Case_1

After passing through numerous veil-like barriers, the most mysterious underground world on the Aegean continent was revealed to Liu shocked and the two fairy dragons.

Guoguo raised the Night Pearl and its brilliant silver light instantly dispelled the suffocating darkness.

Behind the stone cave door was a vast cavern, approximately the size of ten acres. Ancient and dilapidated stone steps twisted and turned, leading downward into the depths of darkness. The sheer breadth of the stone steps was astonishing. Even if all the heavy cavalry of the emerald city marched side by side, it would not cause any traffic congestion.

The Night Pearl’s radiance was limited, and what appeared before Liu shocked were just the ancient stone steps, lightly coated with moss, and the remains of a scattered and incomplete skeleton.

The winged Pegasus glided down the enormous stone steps, flapping its wings. After about half an hour of descending, it passed through yet another stone cave door, similar in size to the entrance of Mount Azeroth, and the view before them suddenly opened up.

A vast world faintly appeared at the far end of their vision. Red hoops, like flashes of lightning, occasionally surfaced. There were no abysses as Liu surprised had imagined, nor was there suffocating darkness, only endless oppression. The air was filled with a faint smell of sulfur.

An ever-present orange-red halo illuminated the underground sky, casting a light red glow over this mysterious world. Everything within view seemed to be tinged with a wine-like haze. Obeying its master’s will, the Pegasus gently folded its wings and landed on its two rear legs on the platform behind the cave door.

In front of the platform behind the cave door was a large stone bridge. Some sections of this giant stone bridge were slightly dilapidated, but it was still rather impressive. The bridge was grotesquely wide, and the opposite end was obscured by haze. Even with Liu shocked’s extraordinary vision, he couldn’t discern it. Clearly, the bridge was not short.

Liu shocked, holding the bridle of the Pegasus, peered over the edge of the platform. Below was a multitude of thin, hair-like red light lines, seemingly moving, and some faint traces of light spots spurting out. Apart from that, everything was pitch black. Both the sky and the ground were black. Red and black were the only two colors in this space.

Normalized vertigo from looking down from high altitude enveloped Liu shocked, causing him to feel a hollow sensation of nausea and dizziness. He guessed that the stone bridge was at least around ten to twenty thousand meters high from the ground.

"There are strong Elemental Fluctuations ahead," Daisy pulled Liu’s arm, pointing towards the other end of the stone bridge.

"I guess it’s the underground Fengang. The fluctuation of the wind element is quite strong," Nana added.

None of us have been to the Underworld before, so to be safe," Liu shocked pondered, then said: "From now on, neither of you should leave my side. The radius of the Wind-Resistance Bead is only twenty-five square meters. It’s better to remain cautious."

"We understand!" the two fairy dragons sweetly answered.

As the Winged Pegasus had not gone far above the wide stone bridge, Liu shocked began to hear the cries of whirlwinds howling past his ears. Under the illumination of the Night Pearl, he could occasionally catch the fleeting images of huge sickle-shaped wind blades spinning past with his peripheral vision. To test the strength of the underground Fengang, Liu shocked ordered the Pegasus to land back on the bridge. He drew out a double-edged dagger from behind him and threw it onto the stone slab bridge. The dagger left the range of the Wind-Resistance Bead and got stuck in the stone slab bridge about half an inch deep. Before Liu shocked could react, the dagger shivered like a small grass in the wind and was whisked away by the strong moving air current.

"Hmph!" Liu shocked raised an eyebrow.

Although Liu was confident in his brute strength, the dagger was easily blown away by the wind, despite the significant force he put behind throwing it, which was surprising. It turned out that in addition to the rotating sickle wind blades, the underground Fengang also had hurricane-like winds that were strong enough to lift something so heavy.

Upon seeing Guoguo pointing at him and suppressing giggles, and the two fairy dragons staring at him, Liu shocked felt a bit embarrassed, which prompted a strong urge to redeem himself.

With a defiant stomp, Liu pulled out another dagger and threw it with all his might. The dagger did not disappoint, landing with a crisp "Ding" and embedding itself in the stone slab bridge fifteen yards away, with only the hilt exposed.

This time, the wind couldn’t blow away the dagger, but a series of sparks continued to flash from the dagger’s hilt. The sparks flashed on and off, like the shutters of a camera.

It wasn’t until Liu shocked approached the dagger and picked it up that he understood the intensity of the underground Fengang. In that short span of time, the hilt of the steel dagger had been marked with four blotchy slash marks, almost as if it had been hacked at with a heavy splitting axe.

Although the dagger was something Liu stole from Prince Richard, it was of decent quality and quite sharp. Although it wasn’t as good as the adamantine weapons of Feilengcui, it was certainly not a run-of-the-mill weapon. Compared to ordinary daggers that would break upon touching blood, Liu shocked’s dagger had stabbed numerous people without tainting the Dwarf-made logo.
