Chapter 402: Chapter 88 The Whet of a Knife_2

Unfortunately, this sudden incident made the master forget a very important thing-------------------------- the "Illumination Flame Fingers" that were on his finger hadn’t been extinguished. In his haste, he accidentally set fire to a Bear Goblin’s clothing. Being made from human skin and smeared with dried alcohol stains, the clothes made for a perfect fuel for the fire.

Even the most obtuse of the Bear Goblins was immediately awakened.

Master Otigha and his apprentice took off running, but not before smashing the prepared attack spell out of their hands.

The communal dining hall of the Bear Goblins was on the bottom floor, and the kiln hole where Master Otigha was being held was on the second floor.

From the start of the Bear Goblins’ screams, to Master Otigha and his apprentice Mexi rushing out of the kiln hole, and up to the public roads, they were surrounded by people, the brightness of the Night Pearl exposing their every move.

Two slim figures, draped in pitch-black cloaks, appeared floating over their heads in an instant.

Both sides were locked in a standoff.

Those slim black cloaks were Master Otigha’s worst nightmare. The image of being defeated by the shadowy figure in the Black Cape during the melee at the mud flat was something he could never shake off even unto death.

Since the figure could fly, Master Otigha naturally assumed this was a Wind Magic Tutor. But why were his fireballs useless against them, and their counter-attacks were so powerful they took him down as if he’d been struck by a heavy hammer in the chest? Even a "Storm Hammer" didn’t have such exaggerated attack power. He was wearing a Magic Shield and are a mid-level mage! An ambush and I’m down, is the guild’s title a Magic Teacher or a Magic Tutor? Master Otigha was utterly confused.

Last time there was one, now there were two.

Master Otigha was truly frustrated in his heart! The Dorott Duchy was only subsidizing four Court Mages under the patronage of Saint Francisco. He could never have imagined such a small place as Bimon Territory would have produced two Wind Magic Tutors and a Water Element Mage!

Master Otigha gritted his teeth. He cast a "Surrounding Flames" Magic Shield on himself and his apprentice, then kept launching a series of fireballs at the two shadowy figures in black cloaks.

It must be said that after the brutal close-quarter magic fight with the Mermaid, and the extreme humiliation he and Master Fran had suffered, Master Otigha’s magic proficiency had improved significantly. You could see it from the speed at which he was launching his Magic Fireballs. Whether it’s a mage or a shaman, every stage has its bottleneck, and the higher the rank, the more difficult the bottleneck.

Master Otigha, a disciple of the famous Mage Master Stefano, had seen the Mermaid’s rogue-like magic attack after being captured. It upturned his ingrained thinking. The sight before his eyes was refreshing. His proficiency level had inconspicuously leaped a notch since before his capture. His improvements were even more noticeable than mages who practiced two disciplines. Given time, it won’t be a far-fetched assumption to see Master Otigha claim the title of a senior mage.

Mexi wasn’t one to be outdone either. Though he could not match his Tutor’s spell casting speed, he started his incantation anyway.

Unfortunately for Master Otigha and Mexi, they encountered the "Mage Killers", not one Fairy Dragon but two.

Still unable to figure out what was wrong, Master Otigha fell to the ground, a strange numbness spreading through his chest, the "Surrounding Flames" wrapped around him like a coiling dragon hadn’t even had the chance to die down.

Luckily, it was only a small fireball. The backlash wasn’t very great, but Master Otigha was already injured. The old and new injuries combined left him lying on the ground completely drained of strength. He lay on the ground gasping for air, a sweet, foul taste filling his mouth.

Our poor Mexi hadn’t even finished casting an entire fireball summoning incantation before his Tutor collapsed. The poor kid was so scared he forgot the remaining half of his incantation.

It was only at this point that Liu Zhenhan leisurely led a group of people out of the cafeteria. Great Shaman Wei An and the female snake Wizard didn’t follow them up the steps but instead stood at the base of the hill, their brows furrowed as they looked at the two shadowy figures floating in the sky in their black cloaks.

Just from Daisy and Ruona’s abilities to teleport outside the dining hall as soon as they heard the Bear Goblin’s distress signal was enough to make Great Shaman Wei An feel confused. Having just come out and seeing the fleeing mage already knocked to the ground filled Master Qi Dan with admiration.

Though both of the women had a strong dragon breath, Master Qi Dan didn’t have the imaginative capacity to connect them to Fairy Dragons.

Everyone who had a fling with Richard more or less carried a touch of dragon breath. It was only natural for Great Shaman Wei An to categorize these two flying Wind magic female mages as part of Richard’s harem. After all, Piegel, a fellow disciple of the Northeast Temple, was well-known for his indiscretions in the Northeast Province. Hence, Master Qi Dan’s presumptions weren’t without basis.

Of course, Great Shaman Wei An was still quite pleased. After all, Richard, the Piegel Disciple, also came from the Northeast Temple. His rise would inadvertently strengthen his, Wei An’s, position within the Kingdom.
