Chapter 397: Chapter 87 Double Dragon Ceremony_1
Daisy must have been holding it in for too long. She was nestled into Liu Zhenhan’s broad chest like a mountain, her tears pouring out in a torrent, seemingly unwilling to end.
Liu Zhenhan’s clothes were adorned, as if with dewdrops, by her clear tears.
"Love is blind, stop crying. As your lord, I support your love without any condition!" Liu Zhenhan made his heroic declaration, as he gently patted the Fairy Dragon’s delicate shoulder.
But upon hearing him, the Fairy Dragon wept even more violently, revealing the extent of humiliation Daisy must have endured due to their situation.
Actually speaking, Liu Zhenhan typically resisted such matters out of instinct. But, despite this, he didn’t vehemently oppose it. It was their private life after all, none of his business.
Anyone who wished to meddle had nothing better to do.
The three madams were quite understanding. Despite their characteristic jealousy, Helen and Avril did not express any displeasure at the Fairy Dragon’s intimate actions.
They even showed an unusual level of magnanimity, displaying quite the ladylike poise.
However, the three madams quickly began to worry about something else. After all, like Avril, Daisy had also ingested the Fei Wenli Python Bile before, and its potent venom was eliminated through bodily fluids, including tears.
But they had been crying for quite some time, her tears soaking Richard’s chest for even longer. Why wasn’t there any issue?
Liu Zhenhan halted Ning Yu’s attempt to remind the Fairy Dragon to move away through a look.
The madams’ concerns were completely unnecessary.
The deadly toxin coated on the militia’s standard weaponry had all been submerged in the pearl tears from Avril, creating a self-made poison. After their territorial defense fight, Liu Zhenhan personally checked the effectiveness of this venom during the battlefield cleanup. All the human raiders who died under the militia’s blades had their wounds entirely clotted up, not healed but rather blocked by large chunks of clotted blood, which had solidified into a rubbery substance.
Snake venom, Liu Zhenhan was all too familiar with. He had primarily studied it during his time fighting in the southern border’s jungles. However, seeing venom demonstrate such effects was entirely new for him.
While the Fairy Dragon described the effects of this physical toxin rather dramatically, Liu Zhenhan was no puppet to others’ claims. After he accidentally wiped Daisy’s tear once without being affected, Liu Zhenhan grew suspicious.
Although the Aegean Continent was an alien world, there were no significant differences between any sentient race and Liu Zhenhan. They all had flexible minds, strong hearts, and the same blood running through their veins. The main differences were physical, in their appearance and size.
Liu Zhenhan firmly believed that a universal law of balance rooted in scientific principles existed in this world.
Based on the anomalies observed during actual battles, Liu carried out several private experiments regarding the snake venom, analyzing it in conjunction with the in-depth understanding of snakes he acquired while in the field. Consequently, he concluded that the toxin in bodily fluids, produced after ingesting the Fei Wenli Python Bile, did not belong to either hemotoxic or neurotoxic types of snake venom. It was actually highly pure thrombin, an active enzyme that clots blood. Many neurotoxic strains of snake venom contain thrombin — it is also present in human blood as platelets, which aid in blood clotting.
The terrifying toxins produced in bodily fluids after consuming the Fei Wenli Python Bile were indeed dangerous. They could cause even the resilient Dragon Clan to stay well clear because of the powerful blood-clotting ability of the thrombin. It was a foe no creature with a circulatory system would underestimate.
During Liu Zhenhan’s private experiments, he found that just one hour of soaking the pearl tears from Avril could solidify a warhorse’s blood in a bamboo pipe into a rubber rod. On one occasion, this rod had been used by O’Neal to beat Count Totti. The ruthless hippo poet claimed the rod was perfect for attacks, resulting in internal injuries with no visible external harm, making it an ideal implement for execution.
While the bodily fluid toxin that Daisy spoke about could not be cured indeed, the primary reason was its ability to quickly clot human blood. Though it appeared mysterious, the details were less so upon scrutinization.
This thrombin had considerable limitations, evaporating quickly when exposed to air for over half an hour and having poor permeability. Therefore, it could only affect wounds. These were conclusions that Liu Zhenhan had derived from repeated experiments.
Realizing that her tears contained potent venom, the Fairy Dragon hurriedly began to wipe them away. Seeing her beautiful, tear-streaked face, Liu Zhenhan couldn’t help but chuckle.
After he explained to the beauties why the venom was ineffective against him, he suddenly noticed a change in their gazes. Now, there was a trace of admiration in their dependent and affectionate eyes. Just the newly introduced term "thrombin" caused them to feel a bit dizzy.
Even the typically haughty Gortani looked at him in this way, making Liu Zhenhan feel a little proud.
"If you have identified this venom and can discuss it so casually, why does the Ancient Manuscript claim there is no cure? Some have even tried using the incredibly antitoxic Azure Sea Dragon’s blood to treat the poison, but they failed. Why is that so?" Daisy asked, puzzled.
