Chapter 366: Chapter 79: The Battle Situation is Like a Chess Game_2

"And you!" The Earl’s other hand was almost choking Master Fran’s neck, shouting with a commanding tone, spittle flying and dousing the master from head to face.

The two masters, nearly torn apart by the Earl’s chaotic thrashing, hurriedly ordered their three magic apprentices to heed the Earl’s call, saving up all their energy to launch magical flame balls at the opposite shore. However, the magic power of the apprentices was a bit shaky and fell into the Sanggan River before reaching the target range.

Like the Beamon shamans, not all mages are long-range attackers; it also depends on their strength. For instance, the aura range of a first-class Beamon Scepter Shaman like a glorious aura and evil aura can reach up to 1500 yards, while that of a War Shaman is only up to 1000 yards.

Generally speaking, the attack range of mages is farther than that of shamans. Master Fran’s guild title is Senior Mage, with an attack radius of about 2000 yards, while Master Otigha’s guild title is Intermediate Mage, with an attack radius of about 1500 yards. Although the two masters rank above average among the seven levels of mages: Magic Apprentice, Probationary Mage, Intermediate Mage, Senior Mage, Magic Teacher, Magic Tutor, Saint Chiao Mage, they are helpless without sufficient resources. Their desperate summons of two powerful scrolls have rendered them useless. As for their magic apprentices, their poor skills are way overestimated in this fierce, time-specific river battle.

"I don’t need magic apprentices! I want you two masters to teach those damned Beamons a lesson! Use forbidden curses! Use Earth Fire City Burning! Use Flame Storm! Use Alternate Remote Spatial Transfer! Hurry!" The Earl once again shook the two masters by their necks in a frenzy.

Followers of the two masters were already nearly decimated, no one disputed the Earl’s extremely impolite and rude behavior at this point.

The two masters were left looking at each other in a daze as their eyes rolled back and their faces turned bleak and powerless.

The Earl did know his stuff, calling out top-notch magic, but the magic power of the two masters had been drained. Even with their superior military power and equipment, they found themselves on the ropes and their situation deteriorating the more they fought.

Since the future regent had spoken, the two masters had to comply. With great effort, they managed to chant and summon two magic flame birds, which they threw towards the opposite shore.

The Earl’s hopeful expression fell once again; the magic flame birds hadn’t reached the opposite shore before dozens of water arrows suddenly shot out in mid-air, turning them into a flurry of sparkles and flying feathers.

"Water Element Mages?" The two masters squinted their eyes in disbelief, their mouths fell open and they exchanged a flurry of disbelieving glances.

"It’s a Mermaid! Oh... my God! It’s a mermaid... damned..." The Earl swung his fists back and forth, just as his damned younger brother would chatter on.

"If our magic power was intact, how could two Fire Elemental mages be suppressed by a Water Element Mage!" The heart-broken Master Otigha shook with fury.

Fire magic has always been the nemesis of water magic, but today, they were outwitted by a water element mage. The two fire elemental mages and three magic apprentices could only stand aside, helpless, while being dominated by the water element magic.

"The Beamon Cavalry are decimating my subordinates! Master, quickly use the Space Teleportation Array! My mammoth cavalrymen can surely hold back these Beamon troops! Help me teleport forty cavalrymen over there, please, Master!" Jennifer, the female captain of the "Metal Rose" mercenary group, held onto Master Fran with tears streaming down her face, her shiny snot dripping onto her ample bosom, eager to offer anything she could.

"Space Teleportation? To teleport forty cavalrymen across the river, even if I hadn’t expended any magic power, it would be barely possible, not to mention that I’ve exhausted most of my magic power now. Captain Jennifer, do you think my Space Magic is as cheap as the bargain malt wine from the Tree House Bar and can be sold in bulk or retail?" Master Fran was visibly upset by Jennifer’s suggestion.

"Keep shooting! Don’t stop! Keep hitting them hard!" The Earl shouted at the two masters.

"Earl, to summon the forbidden curse, our magic power is almost exhausted. It was a struggle just to summon the flame birds just now, and forcing it further will damage our bodies." Master Fran helplessly spread his hands and shook his head.

"These Beamons are too powerful." Master Otigha lowered his eyelids, speaking with immense difficulty.

"Nonsense!" The Earl was practically frenzied, almost hysterically spouting vulgarities. "I don’t accept your defeat! Use magic to remove those pests in the river! Use magic to repel those damned elephants!"

The two mages smiled bitterly. As mages, being suppressed by an opponent was a humiliation, but they had no choice but to accept their situation.
